- The appliance works using fire and embers. Take all the precautions you would take for any other use of a naked flame!
- The metal filter must always be fitted in the appliance, as embers may be blown out along with the smoke.
- The wood chips must only be alight in the appliance for 30 seconds at a time, otherwise the appliance may be damaged.
- Used or still glowing wood chips must be disposed of in a fireproof container.
- The opening in the chamber for wood chips must be facing upwards during use.32
- Be aware that smoke can be harmful to inhale. Use the apparatus in a location with good ventilation. KEY
attachment USES The smoker gun can be used to give foods a light smoky taste. The smoke from the smoker gun is cold, so it is possible to smoke foods that cannot normally be smoked, e.g. butter, raw oysters, vegetables or desserts. Most foods absorb the smoky flavour within 2-3 minutes in a smoke-filled package. The smoker gun should therefore not run constantly, but simply fill the package with smoke.
You can use wood chips or very fine wood shavings of various types of wood in the appliance. See examples below. Hickory: bacon-like smoky flavour, which is particularly suitable for pork, such as ham, ribs and chops. Mesquite: spicy and strong smoky flavour, which is suitable for most types of meat, especially beef, and vegetables. Apple or cherry wood: slightly sweet and dense smoky flavour, which is particularly suitable for poultry, game birds and pork.
- Remove the battery cover (1).
- Make sure that they are fitted the right way round. Replace the bat- tery cover. USE
- Fill the appliance’s smoking chamber (3) with the required wood chips. The smoking chamber must not be filled above the edge.34
- Insert the smoking pipe (4) into the package of food, and close the package as tightly as possible around the pipe.
- Switch it on by pushing the on/off button to position I (low speed) or II (high speed).
- Ignite the smoking agent in the smoking chamber using a match or a lighter. Do not use a gas burner or similar, as they burn at very high temperatures. The air flow ensures that the wood chips will quickly catch fire.
- Fill the package with smoke. Then turn the appliance off using the on/off button and shake the used or glowing wood chips out into a fireproof container.
- Open the package after 2-3 minutes, so that the rest of the smoke can dissipate. If necessary repeat the smoking process if you want the food to have a stronger smoky flavour.
- Before cleaning and storing the appliance, make sure it has cooled completely. CLEANING Brush any residue of wood chips from the smoking chamber with a fine soft brush or similar. Remove the batteries if the appliance is not to be used for a prolonged period.35
