PRODUCT USE PREPARATION Consider the following information when preparing and using the pump:

  • The diameter of the hole must be greater than the diameter of the pump. For example, if the pump is 100 mm, the diameter of the hole must be large enough to introduce the pump, cables, hoses, oat switches, etc.
  • If the pump is used in greater depths of the electrical connection cable, the entire cable must be replaced by another one with an adequate length. The replacement of the cable must be done by a qualied electrician. As the length of the cable increases, the cable gauge also increases to avoid loss of power (voltage drop) by the length of the cable that can affect the operation / efciency of the pump. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS Some pumps are equipped with an electrical control box that accepts 240 V AC single phase and converts it into a three phase output. The control box provides a switch to start / stop the pump and can be equipped with an overload circuit breaker. The pump cable must be connected to the control box, which in turn requires an electrical supply. The control box and pump cables should be connected as follows: FLOAT SWITCHES Some pumps are equipped with a oat switch that is used to automatically switch the pump from ON to OFF depending on the water level in the hole / reservoir. This is to prevent the pump from “dry” operation. The oat switch, when in vertical position (oating) allows the pump to operate - if the water level is reduced and the switch is no longer in the vertical position, the pump stops. Make sure that the switch has the space to move freely - if the area around the pump is too small, the switch can be trapped in the vertical position and will not work properly. ON/OFF Switch Black Blue Brown Green / Yellow39

The operation of the oat switch should be checked every 3 months. To check, place the pump in a container lled with water and lift the oat switch out of the water - the pump should stop, then put it back in the water - the pump should start.

ATTENTION: • Always use the hose with the correct diameter. • Fit all hoses. The joints and clamps have a suitable construction to handle the suction inlet and the pressure outlet. • Hoses should not be damaged, twisted or scratched. • All connectors and hose connections should be secured and properly sealed to ensure correct and reliable operation of the pump. • The pump should be used in accordance with the specications. For best performance, always use the accessories of the outlet that are intended for the general application of the water pump; for example, high pressure, water transfers, etc. The insufciently compatible sizes of the hose can inuence the efciency of the pump either by increasing the resistance of the pump (diameter of the hose is too small) or by reducing the outlet pressure (diameter of the hose too large).

WATER PUMPING OPERATION

Note that as soon as the pump motor is running (power is switched on and in the “ON” position), the pumping action of the machine is activated. Please take the following recommendations into account:

  • Do not intentionally make debris enter the pump.
  • Do not allow the pump to operate “dry”; that is, not having enough or adequate uid to extract.
  • After use, clean the pump and hoses to remove corrosive substances, debris or other impurities carried by the pumped uid.40 TROUBLESHOOTING Good maintenance extends the life of the machine. Regular or prolonged use may require more intensive maintenance so that the machine continues to function properly. The table includes some of the most common problems, their causes and solutions.

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION

The water pump doesn’t start or doesn’t pump Insufcient fuel. Make sure that the bombe is sufciently submerged in the water and that the water can be pumped. Inlet or outlet of the hose is blocked or the turbine is clogged. Make sure that the pump inlet is submerged and that the water pump is not clogged. Make sure the inlet is not buried in mud, etc. Make sure that the hose outlet is not twisted or clogged. Replace damaged hoses. If the turbine is clogged, have the pump checked and repaired. Voltage input is not available or it is too low or a phase is missing. Make sure the voltage available for the pump meets the requirements. To calibrate the pump, the diameter of the wire cable should be sufcient for the requirements of the length of the cable and the power of the pump. Check for faulty electrical connections, defective cables, switches and short circuits, and rectify. Damaged pump motor Have the pump inspected and repaired. The water pump is working, but the output power is low Input or turbine or hose partially clogged. Make sure that the pump inlet is not blocked – clean any visible dirt and debris from the opening. Make sure that the hose outlet is not twisted or clogged. Replace damaged hoses. If the turbine is blocked, have the pump checked and repaired. Worn turbine or pump motor is damaged. Have the pump inspected and repaired. The engine has overheated Elevator too low. Make sure that the pump elevator (pumping height) conforms to the specications. Input or turbine or hose partially clogged. Make sure that the pump inlet is not blocked – clean any visible dirt and debris from the opening. Make sure that the hose outlet is not twisted or clogged. Replace damaged hoses. If the turbine is blocked, have the pump checked and repaired. Input voltage too low. Make sure that the voltage available for the pump meets the requirements. To calibrate the pump, the diameter of the wire cable should be sufcient for the requirements of the length of the cable and the power of the pump. Check for faulty electrical connections, defective cables, switches and short circuits, and rectify. Damaged pump motor. Have the pump inspected and repaired. NOTE: In the event of not being able to resolve the problem, get in touch with an Ofcial Technical Service.41

  • Allow the equipment to cool down completely before transporting or storing it.
  • Keep the machine out of reach of children or untrained persons.
  • Never store the equipment in places where there are ammable materials, combustible gases or combustible liquids, etc.
  • The equipment is not weather resistant, and should not be stored under direct sunlight, at high temperatures or in wet or very humid places.
