Please read this instruction manual carefully before using the device for the first time. It contains important safety instructions and information on the installation, operation and maintenance of the appliance. Proper handling contributes to efficient use and minimises energy consumption during operation.
Improper use could result in hazardous situations, particularly for children. Keep this instruction manual in a safe place for future reference. Pass it on to the new owner if the product is sold or given away. 1 Safety
DANGER
Risk of electric shock!
Incorrect handling, faulty electrical installation or excessive mains voltage can lead to electric shock.
- Only connect the appliance:
→ When the mains power supply of the plug socket corresponds to the data on the type plate.
→ Only connect the appliance to an easily accessible plug socket so that you can quickly disconnect it from the mains in the event of a fault.
- Never grasp the appliance if it has fallen into the water. In such a case, immediately pull out the mains plug.
- Do not operate the appliance if it shows visible signs of damage or the mains power cable or mains plug is defective.
- Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
- Never pull the mains plug out of the plug socket by the mains power cable.
IMPORTANT
- Never use the mains power cable as a carrying handle. Keep the appliance, mains plug and mains power cable away from open flames and hot surfaces.

1.2 Safety and warnings

Improper use of the appliance can result in damage
to the appliance and other objects.
- Place the appliance on an easily accessible, level, dry and sufficiently stable work surface.
- Do not place the appliance on the edge of a work surface.
- Never place the appliance on or near hot surfaces (e.g. cooker hotplates, etc.).
- Do not allow the mains power cable to come into contact with hot parts.
- Do not use the appliance if the plastic components of the appliance are cracked, split or deformed. Replace damaged components only with suitable original spare parts.
1.3 Intended use
The appliance is exclusively for juicing citrus fruits. The juicer is intended exclusively for use in private households and is not suitable for commercial use.
Use the juicer only as described in this instruction manual. Any other form of use does not constitute an intended use and can result in material damage or even personal injury.

For safety reasons, modifications or alterations to the appliance are not permitted.
2 Using for the first time
Checking the appliance and scope of delivery
Before opening, check the packaging for damage.
WARNING
Risk of damage!
If you open the packaging carelessly with a sharp knife or other pointed objects, the appliance can be damaged quickly.
Take care when opening the packaging.
- Remove the appliance from the packaging.
- Check that the delivery is complete.
- Check the appliance and the individual parts for damage. If this is the case, do not put the appliance into operation. Please contact After Sales Service. www.ggv-service.de
Cleaning the appliance
- Remove the packaging material and all protective films.
- Before using the appliance for the first time, clean all parts of the appliance as described in the "Cleaning" section.
- Before using the juicer for the first time, rinse the cones, strainer, juice container with warm water.
2.1 Assembling the appliance
- Completely unwind the mains power cable from the cable winder.
- Place the housing with motor (6) on a level, sufficiently stable and easy-to-clean work surface.

2.2 Starting the appliance
WARNING
Risk of electric shock! Incorrect handling of the appliance can lead to electric shock. Immediately pull out the mains plug if juice overflows.
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Incorrect handling of the appliance can lead to injuries. Before replacing or mounting parts of the appliance that move during operation, disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
IMPORTANT
Improper use of the appliance can result in damage to the appliance.
- Always allow the motor to run for a short time (max. 15 seconds) and take small breaks between each juicing operation (15 seconds is recommended).
- If you want to juice larger quantities, pause for a few minutes after ten juicing operations to allow the motor to cool down. The motor could otherwise overheat.
- Splashing can always occur during juicing.
- Make sure that the surface is easy to clean.
- Keep away from sensitive or hard-to-clean objects or surfaces.
- Prepare the citrus fruits by cutting them in half and placing them close at hand next to the appliance.
- Press the cut surface of the halved citrus fruit with a little force onto the small pressing cone or onto the large pressing cone.
- As soon as you apply pressure to the pressing cone, it starts to rotate. The pressing cone rotates into the flesh of the fruit and the juice obtained flows through the pulp strainer into the container.
- Too much pressure on the handle/juice cone blocks the motor.
Juicing
- Place the appropriate cone on drive shaft (large for oranges and small for lemons).
- Have a juice container (cup) ready underneath so that the freshly squeezed juice can drain into the cup. The juice tray can collect approx. 0.2 l of juice when the juice spout is turned upwards.
- After juicing, turn the juice spout upwards so that it does not drip.
- Cut citrus fruit into two halves.
- Place one half of the fruit on the cone.
- Push down the handle with the cone.
→ The cone starts to rotate.
→ The cone rotates only with pressure from the handle or with pressure on the fruit. If you let go of the handle or the fruit, the cone stops rotating.
→ The cone scrapes out the pulp and squeezes the juice into the juice tray.
→ The pulp and seeds remain on the pulp strainer.
NOTE
- Consume citrus juices immediately and never store in a metal container.
- Citrus juices are ideal for mixing. For example, try mixing orange juice with lemon juice. Lemon juice for an extra vitamin C kick.
- Freshly squeezed juice gives cocktails a particularly tangy note and a better taste.
Lemon juice also tastes great in hot tea and additionally helps to strengthen the immune system.
3 Cleaning
Before cleaning, always disconnect the mains plug from the plug socket. Never immerse the appliance in water and make sure that no water gets into the motor base.
IMPORTANT

Improper use of the appliance can result in damage to the appliance.
- Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or those containing solvents, or sharp, scratching or metallic cleaning objects such as knives, metal sponges and the like. These can damage the surfaces.
- Never put the motor base into the dishwasher.
Cleaning the appliance
- Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning.
- Disassemble the appliance so that all parts are in front of you.
- Clean the sieve insert, the pressing cones and the juice container, the drive shaft and the cover under warm, running water. Alternatively, you can also put these parts in the dishwasher.
- Wipe the motor base clean with a soft cloth and some washing-up liquid.
- Rub all parts thoroughly dry.
4 Fault- Possible cause

5 Disposing of old appliances
This product is marked in accordance with the European Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive lays down the regulations for proper
disposal of the product. Environmentally friendly disposal prevents possible negative impacts on health that could be caused by improper disposal. The symbol on the product or packaging indicates that this product must not be disposed of with the normal domestic waste. The user must return the product to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic waste.
The prevailing local regulations must be observed for disposal. For further information, please contact your local authority.
6 Warranty terms
The following terms describing the preconditions for and scope of our warranty, do not infringe the warranty rights of the ultimate buyer.
Our warranty for this appliance is granted under the following terms:
As a buyer of a Gutfels appliance you have a manufacturer's warranty
(2 years from date of purchase).
During this warranty period, you can make your warranty claims directly on the manufacturer's Service platform at
www.ggv-service.de
If an additional warranty is concluded between you and your dealer, all claims against the manufacturer will become void after the end of the 24-month manufacturer's warranty. In this case, please contact your dealer directly.
Warranty period
The warranty period is 24 months from the date of purchase (proof of purchase must be presented). During the first 6 months, After Sales Service will fix defects in the appliance free of charge on condition that the appliance is accessible for repairs without any great effort. During the following 18 months, the buyer is obliged to prove that the defect already existed at the time of delivery.
In the case of commercial use (e.g., in hotels, canteens) or joint use by several households, the warranty period is 12 months from the date of purchase (proof of purchase must be presented). During the first 6 months, After Sales Service will fix defects in the appliance free of charge on condition that the appliance is accessible for repairs without any great effort. During the following 6 months, the buyer is obliged to prove that the defect already existed at the time of delivery.
The claim under warranty does not prolong the warranty period for either the appliance or for newly installed parts.
Scope of the defect remedy
Within the periods indicated, we will remedy all defects in the appliance that are demonstrably attributable to poor workmanship or material flaws. Replaced parts become our property.
The warranty does not cover:
Normal wear and tear, intentional or negligent damage, damage caused by non-compliance with the operating
instructions, improper set-up or installation or by connection to incorrect mains voltage, damage due to chemical or electrothermal effects or due to other abnormal environmental conditions, glass, paint or enamel damage and possible colour differences as well as defective bulbs.
Defects in the appliance resulting from transport damage are also not covered. We also do not provide any services if - without our special written approval - work has been carried out on the appliance by unauthorised persons or parts of third-party origin have been used. This limitation shall not apply to faultless work carried out by a qualified person using our original parts to adapt the appliance to the technical safety regulations of another EU member state.
Scope
Our warranty applies to appliances purchased and in operation in the Federal Republic of Germany or Austria.
In the case of complaints about defective appliances, the sender's and recipient's addresses must be in the Federal Republic of Germany or Austria.
For appliances purchased and operated in other European countries, the warranty conditions of the seller apply.
For repairs outside the warranty period:
If an appliance is repaired, the repair invoices are payable immediately without deduction.
