Warranty claims according to the attached Warranty Certificate. 2 General Safety Instructions Read the instructions for use thoroughly before the initial operation of the machine. If any doubts regarding the connection and operation arise, consult the manufacturer (servicing department). Observe the instructions shown below carefully to guarantee the high degree of safety. CAUTION ! To be safe at working with this hedge trimmer it is required to observe precisely these instructions and information on safety, installation and operation contained in the Manual. Any person engaged in the operation or maintenance of the machine should be knowledgeable regarding the operation manual and aware of any potential risk. Prevent children, sick and infirm persons from access. While you are in the working area, look after the children very carefully. Observe any regional and local safety precautions applicable in your place. The same applies to any provisions on the safety at work and health protection in the work site. The manufacturer shall not be held liable if the machines it manufactures are altered in an unauthorised manner, in result of which damage was inflicted. Warning! It is necessary to observe the essential safety precautions when using the machine tools. Kindly follow the tips and instructions in the additional safety precautions.
1. Pay attention to the conditions of the area you’re working in. Do not expose the machine to rain.
Never use the machine neither in wet nor in damp environment. Provide for good lighting when cutting. Do not use the machine in proximity of flammable liquids and gases.GB
2. Protect yourself against electric shock
Avoid contact with grounded parts as e.g. pipes, ranges, freezers etc.
3. Do not let any unauthorized persons approach the machine. The visitors and viewers, primarily the
children, the ill and infirm persons should not have any access to the working area. Prevent other persons from any contact with the tools.
4. Make provision for the tools storage. The machines not in current use should be kept in a dry place,
elevated or locked where practicable so that any access to them is prevented
5. Always use a correct tool for the job to be done. E.g. avoid using small tools and accessories for
work that should be actually done with a professional tool. Use the tools only for the purposes they were designed for.

14. Prevent from accidental switching the machine
Never carry plugged into socket trimmer with finger in trigger ready position. When plugging into socket be sure that the switch is OFF.

- Use only splash-proof extension cables approved for external use and marked as such.
16. Be attentive any time. Mind what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not use the trimmer when
tired. Never work with the trimmer when influenced by alcohol, drugs or medicaments affecting the concentration capability.
17. Watch out for any damaged parts. Inspect the machine before use. Are any parts damaged? Ask
yourself seriously when detecting slight damage whether the machine will work perfectly and safely despite that. Watch out for proper aligning and adjustment of any moving parts. Do the parts fit one in another properly? Are the parts damaged? Is everything installed as appropriate? Are any other prerequisites of proper working in place? Damaged protective devices etc. must be repaired or replaced by authorized entities unless the operation manual expressly says otherwise. Any defective switches must be replaced at an authorized servicing centre. Do not use the machine if it cannot be put on and off with the switch. In case of planned repairs kindly turn to your local servicing centre.
18. Switch off the unit motor before any adjustments or maintenance works. The same applies mainly to
the trimmer blade maintenance.
19. Use approved parts only. Use only identical spare parts for maintenance and repairs. Request advice
of an authorized servicing centre for this purpose. The machine should not be used for other than intended purposes. Any deviation from the purpose shall be considered an unauthorized use. Only the user, and never the manufacturer, shall be held liable for any material and personal damage resulting from such an unauthorized use. The manufacturer shall not perform any warranties if the machines manufactured by it are altered or used in an unauthorized manner and if damage is inflicted in result.GB
CAUTION ! Even when the machine is professionally used there is always residual risk that is impossible to exclude. It is the type and design of the machine of which the following potential risks may be derived from: Contact with uncovered trimmer blade (laceration). Reaching the running trimmer blade (laceration). Hearing impairment if proper ear protection is not used. The unit can only be operated connected to mains circuits protected by RCD (Residual Current Device) !
Emergency Action Apply the first aid adequate to the injury and get qualified medical assistance as quickly as possible. Protect the injured person from more accidents and calm him/her down.

Only persons above 16 years of age are allowed to work with the unit. . Exempted from the provision is the use of the juvenile trainees if they work in the course of their professional training with an aim to obtain the skill under trainer supervision.
Use of the unit requires adequate lesson by a professional or the use of the manual only. Obr. 8 4 Transportation and Storage Take care within transport of the unit to disconnect always the mains cord from socket. Clean the unit thoroughly before storage. Store the unit in a dry and clean place. 5 Assembly and Initial Operation
5.2 Initial Operation Safety Instructions
Always pay attention to firm tightening of bolts, nuts, screws and use only supplied parts. Branches of diameter exceeding 14 mm cut first by pruning shears to prevent damage to the machine.
Procedure Trapezoidal cut fits to growth of natural plants and enables hedges optimum flourishing. Trim first the side areas from below upwards. Trim the upper area according your taste giving even or roof shaped or round off shape. Safety trimmer blade has alternating arrangement of cutting blades that are rounded off to the sides, which reduces risk of injury. Additional protection against impact prevents from unpleasant bouncing to walls, fences etc. At blocking of the blade by solid subject switch off the unit immediately, disconnect the cord from supply socket and only then remove the jammed subject. Caution: Metal objects, as e.g. wire fences, plant supports etc. can lead to damage to the trimmer blade. Fig. 5 Fig. 6
The best trimming performance is reached when the hedge trimmer is guided under cutting angle of cca 15° to the hedge. (Fig. 5) The trimmer blades run are of dual action type and enable trimming in both directions. (Fig. 6) To get regular hedge height we recommend to tighten guiding string along the hedge. Trim away the overhang branches. (Fig. 7) Hooped motions from below upwards trim the hedge sides best. (Fig. 8) 6 Operation Apart from hedges it is also possible to use the hedge trimmer for trimming of bushes and decorative shrubbery.

All electric service cables as e.g. extension cable, have to be of type approved for outdoor use (splash-proof). Fig. 10 Hedge Trimmer Güde is equipped by two-handed safety switch. It works only when push-button located on the guiding grip is pressed by one hand (Fig. 6) and at the same time the handle switch is pressed (Fig. 4).
6.2 Step-by-Step Instructions
Remove foreign subjects from the trimming area before start. Wear adequate protective clothing. Switch on the machine according to instructions from the „Operation“ chapter. Respect all the relevant safety instructions and advance according to the "Procedure" chapter. Clean the machine after every use and check the trimmer blade for damages.GB

8 Inspections and Maintenance Sharpening or cutting blade replacement Only trained persons should do this as unqualified assembly can cause serious injuries. Use only original spare parts.
Inspection and Maintenance Safety Instructions Only a unit maintained and cared for on a regular basis may be a serviceable aid. Insufficient maintenance and care may result in emergencies and unforeseen accidents. Disconnect always mains leads before any work on the unit ! Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents. It can lead to damages or even to the unit destruction.
