Specific safety instructions
DANGER!
Carbon monoxide poisoning can lead to death! This is a direct-fired diesel radiant heater. It is primarily intended for temporary heating of buildings under construction, reconstruction or repair.
Direct-fired means that all combustion products of the heater enter and spread directly into the heated room. This appliance has a combustion efficiency of 98 %, but still produces a small amount of carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is toxic.
Humans can only tolerate small amounts of carbon monoxide, which is why it is essential to ensure sufficient ventilation.
Persons with breathing problems should consult a doctor before using the heater. Failure to provide proper ventilation in accordance with these instructions may result in death!
The first signs of carbon monoxide poisoning are similar to those of flu. Symptoms that may occur with improper ventilation are: Headache, dizziness, burning in the nose and eyes, nausea, dry mouth, sore throat.
If the heater is used in the presence of other people, you must inform them of all correct and important safety precautions, operating procedures and hazards.
Some people are more affected by carbon monoxide than others. These include pregnant women, people with heart or lung disease or anaemia, people under the influence of alcohol or when using the device at high altitudes.
Check the appliance thoroughly for damage before each use. Do NOT operate a damaged heater.
DO NOT modify this heater or operate a heater that has been modified from its original condition.
Make sure that the heater is always supervised and keep children and animals away from it.
Keep the area around the heater free from flammable materials such as gas, oil, paint thinner and other flammable vapours and liquids. Dust is flammable. Do not use the heater in areas with high dust concentration.
The inlet (rear) and outlet (front) of the heater must not be narrowed. The heater must never be used with an air ducting system (pipes/hoses etc.).
WARNING!
Burn/fire/explosion hazard! NEVER use petrol or other fuels of any kind to operate this heater!
To avoid injury, always wear gloves when handling the heater. Never touch an operating or hot heater as severe burns may occur.
This heater is not suitable for use on noble or sensitive floors. Use a heat protection mat on a heat-sensitive floor.
Use the heater only in accordance with local regulations and federal ordinances.
⚠ WARNING Risk of electric shock!
Only use the earth connection that complies with the National Electrical Standards.
Never move the heater while it is still hot.
Never transport the heater with fuel in the tank.
NEVER refill the heater fuel tank when the heater is in operation or still hot. This heater is EXTREMELY HOT during operation.
Fuel storage should be at least 8m away from heaters, flares, portable generators or other sources of ignition.
Only use the electrical power (voltage and frequency) specified on the heater's type plate.
ALWAYS unplug the appliance when it is not in use.
NEVER leave the heater unattended
Operate the unit only on flat and stable surfaces.
If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Intended use
This direct-fired diesel radiant heater is primarily intended for temporary heating or drying of unenclosed, very large rooms and buildings. First and foremost construction sites. The rooms must always be sufficiently ventilated. Use for agricultural purposes (for example in barns, for drying straw) is strictly prohibited! When using the unit, always observe the respective local building and fire protection regulations as well as the necessary electrical fuses.
