Direct-red means that all combustion products of the heater enter and spread directly into the heated room. This appliance has a combustion eciency of 98 %, but still produces a small amount of carbon monoxide. Car- bon monoxide is toxic. Humans can only tolerate small amounts of carbon monoxide, which is why it is essential to ensure su- cient ventilation. Persons with breathing problems should consult a doc

tor before using the heater. Failure to provide proper ventilation in accordance with these instructions may result in death! The rst signs of carbon monoxide poisoning are simi

lar to those of u. Symptoms that may occur with im- proper ventilation are: Headache, dizziness, burning in the nose and eyes, nausea, dry mouth, sore throat. If the heater is used in the presence of other people, you must inform them of all correct and important sa

Fig. 4). Operation WARNING! The heater may only be operated with diesel! To avoid re or explosion, use only diesel. DO NOT use petrol, naphtha, paint thinner, alcohol or other ammable liquids. For operation at low temperatures, antifreeze must be used. Position the fan heater so that it is upright on a solid, non-combustible surface and a safe distance away from damp environments and combusti- ble materials. WARNING! Read the chapter „SAFETY“ carefully before operating the unit!

1. Always follow the safety information and instructions in

this manual during all steps.

Fill the tank with diesel when using the machine for the rst time. Check the tank contents with each subsequent use and rell if necessary. Always close the fuel ller cap afterwards!

Cleaning & Maintenance Hot surface warning Warning of electrical voltage Before cleaning, always switch o the appliance, disconnect the mains plug and allow the appliance to cool down. Never rinse the appliance with water or immerse it in water to clean it, as this could result in an electric shock or re. Never touch the mains plug with wet or damp hands. Remove dust from the unit with a dry cloth. To remove stains, a slightly damp cloth can be used. Warning of electrical voltage Work on electrical components may only be carried out by an authorised specialist company. Repairs and work not described in these instructions should only be carried out by qualied personnel. Only use original accessories and original spare parts. Repairs that require opening the unit are reserved exclusively for the manufacturer or its customer service. We recommend following the maintenance schedule as follows: Component Maintenance fre- quency Maintenance proce- dures Fuel tank * Clean every 150-200 operating hours or as required Drain and ush with fresh fuel Nozzle Clean or replace once per season or as nee- ded Contact the technical service centre Photocell Clean once per season or as needed Contact the technical service centre Fuel lter * Clean or replace twice per season or as nee- ded Clean the fuel lter with clean fuel Ignition device Clean or replace every 1,000 hours of opera- tion or as required. Fuel/fuel tank: Flush every 200 hours of operation or as needed. Do not use water to ush the tank. Only use fresh diesel.

Filter: The fuel lter should be cleaned at least twice per heating season by ushing it with clean diesel. Contaminated fuel could make this necessary immediately, see picture below: Fig 1 Storage When you put the unit into storage, you must empty and clean the tank.

Drain the remaining diesel by loosening the drain plug (6) with an open- end spanner.

Then clean the tank by ushing it with a small amount of fresh diesel.

Empty the tank completely.

NEVER mix diesel with water! This will cause rust to form inside the heater. Never store leftover diesel over the summer. Using old fuel can damage the heater. Switch o the unit and let it cool down before storing. Clean the unit (see chapter Cleaning) and store it in the original packaging with original operating instructions in an upright position. Store the appliance in a well-ventilated and dry place out of the reach of children. Store the unit away from heat, frost and direct sunlight. Ensure that the storage area is free from dust and corrosive vapours. Error messages Error Cause Solution
