Warning: Keep a safe distance from the
machine when operating. Wear eye and ear protection. Switch o and remove battery adapter before adjusting, cleaning, maintenance or if the cable is entangled or if the cable is cut or damaged and before leaving the leaf blower unattended for any period. Operation f Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine. Local regulations may restrict the age of the operator. When not in use store the machine out of reach of children. f This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the machine by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the machine. f In Addition, observe instructions for o board battery carrier. If dust levels are very high, always wear a suitable respirator. f Do not try to force the battery into the garden tool, please only use the battery adapter! f The operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property. f Other persons and animals should remain at a distance of 3 metres or more when the machine is being used. The operator is responsible for third persons in the working area. f Never operate the machine while people, especially children or pets, are nearby. f Use the machine only in daylight or good articial light. f Do not operate the machine when barefoot or wearing open sandals, always wear substantial footwear and long trousers. f Always wear suitable clothing on the upper body and limbs when operating this tool. f Never operate the product when you are tired, ill or under the inuence of alcohol, drugs or medicine. f Avoid operating the machine in bad weather conditions especially when there is a risk of lightning. f Do not operate the blower or the battery adapter in combination with the DP3640XA or DP3660XA batteries in rain or wet conditions. Water contacting the DP3640XA or DP3660XA batteries will increase the risk of electric shock, re and the risk of damage to the battery pack and/or attached device. f Failure to keep loose clothing from being drawn into air intake could result in personal injury. f Do not operate without tubes in place
f Failure to keep long hair away from the air inlet could result in personal injury. f Always be sure of your footing on slopes throughly inspect the area where the machine is to be used and remove all wires and other foreign objects. f Keep all cooling air inlets clear of debris never operate the leaf blower with defective guards or shell, or without safety device. f Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders. f Do not modify this product. Unauthorised modications may impair the safety of your product and may result in increased noise and vibration. f Do not work on a ladder (cleaning gutters etc) or insecure support.4 | English f Watch out for obstacles: be careful of refuse, tree stumps, roots and ditches which could cause you to trip or stumble. f Do not blow/sweep hazardous material. f When blow-sweeping, watch out for small animals to avoid harming them. f While operating the leaf blower always be sure of a safe and secure operating position at all times. f Do not overreach and keep your balance at all times. f Walk, never run. f Always be aware of your surroundings and stay alert for possible hazards that you may not hear whilst operating the leaf blower. Maintenance f Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure that the machine is in safe working condition. f Examine the machine and replace worn or damaged parts for safety. f Ensure replacement parts tted are Honda approved. Recommendations for Optimal Handling of the battery adapter and Charger f Warning! Do not attempt to charge non rechargeable batteries with the charger. f Ensure battery adapter is the right way up. f Insert the battery adapter until the locking mechanism clicks. To remove the battery adapter, operate locking lever. f For care use and maintenance please use charger and battery manuals which are supplied with the products. Working Advice Product transportation Always transport tool without the battery adapter tted to the product. Make sure the product is properly secured to prevent turn- over and damage to the garden tool. Before starting the tool Before using; check that your garden tool is properly assembled and in good condition. Inspect all guards for damage. Do not use if the guards are damaged in any way to reduce the risk of personal injury. Consult your Honda service centre for repairs. Check to see if the inlet guard is free from debris. Check to see if the fan is not obstructed/blocked by any debris. If it is blocked, only clear the blockage with the battery adapter removed from the product. Return product to service centre if this cannot be done safely. Check the battery adapter compartment for debris and damage, debris must be cleared. If damaged do not use the product, return it to a Honda service centre for repair/ replacement. Check the battery adapter for damage. Check trigger movement is free, not obstructed and returns back to its o position. Make sure the nozzle is properly tted to the product. Battery adapter is tted properly to the product and is locked into position. Make sure the handle is clean and dry from any uids/oil for safe control of the garden tool. During operation Always hold the garden tool rmly in your hand. Walk slowly forwards as you work, observe the nozzle outlet at all times. To reduce the risk of injury, operate the unit only with a properly mounted blower tube. The at nozzle produces a broad and powerful airstream at ground level. It can be aimed and controlled very accurately. This garden tool is design to be used by one person only. Do not allow other persons in the work area. Do not direct the airow towards bystanders or animals since the airow can blow small objects at great speeds. This product is tted with thermal protection for safety – if the product overheats the power output will be automatically reduced to prevent damage to the tool. If the overheating still occurs, the product will switch o and will not start again until a safe temperature is reached. Refer to the battery and battery carrier manual for troubleshooting. To reduce the risk of accidents, take a break in good time to avoid tiredness or exhaustion. If there is a noticeable change in running behaviour (e. g. higher vibration), stop work and rectify the cause of the problem – refer to troubleshooting After operation Always make sure the product is turned o and remove the battery adapter from the garden tool.6 | English Troubleshooting Problem Possible Cause Corrective Action Machine does not start after turning o The switch was not turned o properly before the battery adapter was inserted Turn the switch o, remove the battery adapter from the product for 5 seconds. Re-insert the battery adapter into the product. Machine runs intermittently On/O switch defective Have the power tool repaired by an authorised service dealer. Low battery capacity Ensure battery is fully charged before use. The machine is overheated Allow tool to cool and try again. Battery discharged Recharge battery. Battery too hot/cold Allow to cool/warm. Machine defective Contact authorised service dealer. Machine fails to operate Battery carrier defective Contact authorised service dealer. See battery carrier manual. Battery adapter not fully inserted Ensure battery adapter is inserted correctly. Garden tool is too hot Allow tool to cool and try again. Trigger engaged when battery tted Release trigger and reapply. Tube obstructed Switch o the machine, remove battery and remove material. Battery adapter contacts on machine damaged/ obstructed Clean contacts/Contact authorised service dealer. Machine does not blow Tube obstructed Remove battery adapter Clear tube. Inlet guard obstructed Remove battery adapter Clear inlet guard. Excessive vibrations/ noise Machine defective Contact authorised service dealer. Run time per battery charge too low Battery dead or defective Replace the battery. Tube cannot be mounted on the machine Incorrect assembly See “assembly”. Blower tube is damaged/defective Replace the tube. If you are unable to resolve the problem using the troubleshooting guide then please contact your dealer in the rst instance. Maintenance and Service Correct storage is essential for maintaining the life of the product. If possible, avoid storage areas with high humidity which could cause rust or corrosion. End of season storage: Remove battery adapter from tool and store machine and battery in a dry safe place away from direct sunlight. After-sales Service In the unlikely event that you encounter a problem with your product, please contact your Honda authorised service dealer. The product must be periodically inspected and maintained for safety and to keep it running at a high level of performance. Periodic maintenance will also help to extend service life. Honda recommends annual service to be completed by your local authorised Honda dealer. Transport The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject to the Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements. The user can transport the batteries by road without further requirements. When being transported by third parties (e.g.: air transport or forwarding agency), special requirements on packaging and labelling must be observed. For preparation of the item being shipped, consulting an expert for hazardous material is required. Dispatch batteries only when the housing is undamaged. Tape or mask o open contacts and pack up the battery in such a manner that it cannot move around in the packaging.
