Introduction
Congratulations on your selection of a new generation of powered leaf blower.
It has been designed, engineered and manufactured to give you the best possible dependability and performance.
Should you experience any problem you cannot easily remedy, please contact your local authorised Honda dealer.
This manual contains important information on to the safe assembly, operation and maintenance of your leaf blower.
Read it carefully before using the leaf blower. Keep this manual handy so you can refer to it at any time.

Explanation of symbols on the machine

General hazard safety alert.

Pay attention that bystanders are not injured through foreign objects thrown from the machine.
Warning: Keep a safe distance from the machine when operating.


Wear eye and ear protection.

Switch off and remove battery adapter before adjusting, cleaning, maintenance or if the cable is entangled or if the cable is cut or damaged and before leaving the leaf blower unattended for any period.
Operation
▶ Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine. Local regulations may restrict the age of the operator. When not in use store the machine out of reach of children.
This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the machine by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the machine.
▶ In Addition, observe instructions for off board battery carrier.
If dust levels are very high, always wear a suitable respirator.
▶ Do not try to force the battery into the garden tool, please only use the battery adapter!
The operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property.
▶ Other persons and animals should remain at a distance of 3 metres or more when the machine is being used. The operator is responsible for third persons in the working area.
▶ Never operate the machine while people, especially children or pets, are nearby.
▶ Use the machine only in daylight or good artificial light.
▶ Do not operate the machine when barefoot or wearing open sandals, always wear substantial footwear and long trousers.
▶ Always wear suitable clothing on the upper body and limbs when operating this tool.
▶ Never operate the product when you are tired, ill or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medicine.
- Avoid operating the machine in bad weather conditions especially when there is a risk of lightning.
▶ Do not operate the blower or the battery adapter in combination with the DP3640XA or DP3660XA batteries in rain or wet conditions. Water contacting the DP3640XA or DP3660XA batteries will increase the risk of electric shock, fire and the risk of damage to the battery pack and/or attached device.
▶ Failure to keep loose clothing from being drawn into air intake could result in personal injury.
▶ Do not operate without tubes in place
▶ Failure to keep long hair away from the air inlet could result in personal injury.
▶ Always be sure of your footing on slopes throughly inspect the area where the machine is to be used and remove all wires and other foreign objects.
- Keep all cooling air inlets clear of debris never operate the leaf blower with defective guards or shell, or without safety device.
▶ Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders.
▶ Do not modify this product. Unauthorised modifications may impair the safety of your product and may result in increased noise and vibration.
▶ Do not work on a ladder (cleaning gutters etc) or insecure support.

▶ Watch out for obstacles: be careful of refuse, tree stumps, roots and ditches which could cause you to trip or stumble.
▶ Do not blow/sweep hazardous material.
▶ When blow-sweeping, watch out for small animals to avoid harming them.
▶ While operating the leaf blower always be sure of a safe and secure operating position at all times.
▶ Do not overreach and keep your balance at all times.
▶ Walk, never run.
▶ Always be aware of your surroundings and stay alert for possible hazards that you may not hear whilst operating the leaf blower.
Maintenance
- Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure that the machine is in safe working condition.
▶ Examine the machine and replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
▶ Ensure replacement parts fitted are Honda approved.
Recommendations for Optimal Handling of the battery adapter and Charger
▶ Warning! Do not attempt to charge non rechargeable batteries with the charger.
▶ Ensure battery adapter is the right way up.
▶ Insert the battery adapter until the locking mechanism clicks. To remove the battery adapter, operate locking lever.
For care use and maintenance please use charger and battery manuals which are supplied with the products.

Intended Use
The blower is intended for use for blow-sweeping leave grass, paper and similar materials, e. g. in gardens, sports stadiums, car parks and driveways.
Do not operate your blower indoors.
Do not use the blower for any other purpose because of the increased risk of accidents and damage to the blower. Never at-tempt to modify the blower in any way since this may result in accidents or damage to the blower.

Only LI-Ion batteries DP3640XA, DP3660XA, DPW3660XA, DPW3690XA and battery charger CV3680XA can be used with this machine. Please do not use non-rechargeable batteries with this appliance, only those specified by the manufacturer.
Noise/Vibration Information

Typically the A-weighted noise levels of the product are: Sound pressure level 81 dB(A); sound power level 100 dB(A). Uncertainty K = 1.0 dB.
Vibration total values ah (triax vector sum) and uncertainty K determined according to EN 50636-2-100: ah = 0.46 m/s2, K = 1.5 m/s2.

Working Advice
Product transportation
Always transport tool without the battery adapter fitted to the product.
Make sure the product is properly secured to prevent turnover and damage to the garden tool.
Before starting the tool
Before using; check that your garden tool is properly assembled and in good condition.
Inspect all guards for damage. Do not use if the guards are damaged in any way to reduce the risk of personal injury. Consult your Honda service centre for repairs.
Check to see if the inlet guard is free from debris.
Check to see if the fan is not obstructed/blocked by any debris. If it is blocked, only clear the blockage with the battery adapter removed from the product. Return product to service centre if this cannot be done safely.
Check the battery adapter compartment for debris and damage, debris must be cleared. If damaged do not use the product, return it to a Honda service centre for repair/replacement.
Check the battery adapter for damage.
Check trigger movement is free, not obstructed and returns back to its off position.
Make sure the nozzle is properly fitted to the product.
Battery adapter is fitted properly to the product and is locked into position.
Make sure the handle is clean and dry from any fluids/oil for safe control of the garden tool.
During operation
Always hold the garden tool firmly in your hand.
Walk slowly forwards as you work, observe the nozzle outlet at all times.
To reduce the risk of injury, operate the unit only with a properly mounted blower tube.
The flat nozzle produces a broad and powerful airstream at ground level. It can be aimed and controlled very accurately.
This garden tool is design to be used by one person only. Do not allow other persons in the work area.
Do not direct the airflow towards bystanders or animals since the airflow can blow small objects at great speeds.
This product is fitted with thermal protection for safety – if the product overheats the power output will be automatically reduced to prevent damage to the tool. If the overheating still occurs, the product will switch off and will not start again until a safe temperature is reached. Refer to the battery and battery carrier manual for troubleshooting.
To reduce the risk of accidents, take a break in good time to avoid tiredness or exhaustion.
If there is a noticeable change in running behaviour (e.g. higher vibration), stop work and rectify the cause of the problem – refer to troubleshooting
After operation
Always make sure the product is turned off and remove the battery adapter from the garden tool.

Maintenance and Service
Correct storage is essential for maintaining the life of the product. If possible, avoid storage areas with high humidity which could cause rust or corrosion.
End of season storage: Remove battery adapter from tool and store machine and battery in a dry safe place away from direct sunlight.
After-sales Service
In the unlikely event that you encounter a problem with your product, please contact your Honda authorised service dealer.
The product must be periodically inspected and maintained for safety and to keep it running at a high level of performance. Periodic maintenance will also help to extend service life. Honda recommends annual service to be completed by your local authorised Honda dealer.
Transport
The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject to the Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements. The user can transport the batteries by road without further requirements.
When being transported by third parties (e.g.: air transport or forwarding agency), special requirements on packaging and labelling must be observed. For preparation of the item being shipped, consulting an expert for hazardous material is required.
Dispatch batteries only when the housing is undamaged. Tape or mask off open contacts and pack up the battery in such a manner that it cannot move around in the packaging. Please also observe possibly more detailed national regulations.
Disposal
Do not dispose of electric or electronic equipment, battery charger and batteries/rechargeable batteries into household waste!
Only for EC countries:

According to the European law 2012/19/EU, electrical and electronic equipments that are no longer usable, and according to the European law 2006/66/EC, defective or used battery packs/batteries, must be collected separately and disposed of in an environmentally correct manner.
Consult your local waste authority for information regarding available
recycling and/or disposal options.
