Frequently Asked Questions - SE3500HRWS00BEO4 SolarEdge

How to power off the LG Chem battery before wiring?
First turn off the circuit breaker, then the disconnection switch or auxiliary power switch (depending on the model). To power back on, reverse the order: first turn on the switch, then the circuit breaker.
How to connect the battery to the StorEdge inverter?
Use shielded twisted pair cables with cross-section 0.2-1 mm², 600V/CAT5. Connect the CAN pairs (CAN_H, CAN_L) and RS485 (RS485_H, RS485_L) according to the wiring diagram. Ensure DIP switches are correctly configured: left DIP to OFF for the inverter, DIP 2 to ON for the meter.
How to configure the energy meter in SetApp?
In SetApp, go to 'Commissioning' > 'Communication' > 'RS485-1'. Select 'Protocol' > 'Modbus (Multiple devices)', then 'Add Modbus device' > 'Meter'. The meter is identified automatically. Configure the CT rate according to specifications and choose 'Export+Import (E+I)' as function.
How to perform a battery self-test?
Ensure the battery circuit breaker is ON and the inverter ON/OFF/P switch is ON. In SetApp, select 'Commissioning' > 'Maintenance' > 'Diagnostics' > 'Self-test' > 'Battery Self-test' > 'Run test'. Wait for the tests to complete and check the results.
What to do if the battery self-test fails?
If the charge or discharge test fails, or if communication fails, check that the power and communication cables between the battery and inverter are correctly connected. If the inverter switch is off, set it to ON.
How to activate maximum self-consumption mode?
In SetApp, go to 'Commissioning' > 'Power Control' > 'Energy Manager' > 'Energy Control' and select 'Maximum Self-consumption'.
What cables are recommended for the RS485 connection between the battery and inverter?
Use shielded twisted pair cables with cross-section 0.2-1 mm², 600V/CAT5. Each twisted pair should be used for RS485 signals (A+, B-) and CAN. The shield must be connected to ground.
How to verify that the inverter is connected to the monitoring platform?
In SetApp, go to 'Commissioning' > 'Status'. Check that 'S_OK - Server Connected' appears in the main inverter section.
Where to find the serial number of the SolarEdge inverter?
The serial number is on the label on the inverter housing. It is typically 21 characters long. Keep it available to contact technical support.
How to contact SolarEdge technical support?
Before contacting support, prepare the model numbers of the inverter and optimizers, serial numbers, system configuration (type and number of modules, string lengths) and communication method. Visit the SolarEdge website for local contact information.
