Frequently Asked Questions - SE3500HRWS00BNO4 SolarEdge

How to install the SolarEdge SE3500HRWS00BNO4 inverter?
To install the inverter, follow the simplified guide provided. Ensure respecting distances between components. Connect AC, DC and communication cables according to the diagram. Turn off battery power before wiring. Configure DIP switches as indicated. After installation, use SetApp for commissioning.
How to connect the LG Chem battery?
Connect the LG Chem battery to the StorEdge interface via shielded twisted pair cables. Use pins CAN H, CAN L, Enable_H, EN_GND, RS485_H and RS485_L. Ensure battery is off before connecting. Turn off the circuit breaker and power switch.
How to configure the system via SetApp?
Download the SetApp application on your smartphone. Set the ON/OFF/P switch to OFF. Go to Commissioning > Communication > RS485-1 > Protocol > Modbus (Multiple devices). Add Modbus devices (battery and meter) which will be automatically identified. Configure battery and meter parameters.
What cables to use for RS485 communication?
Use shielded twisted pair cables, cross-section 0.2 to 1 mm², 600V/CAT5. For battery-inverter connection, use 3 twisted pairs: CAN H/CAN L, Enable_H/EN_GND, RS485_H/RS485_L. For the meter, use 5 twisted pairs.
How to perform a battery self-test?
Ensure battery circuit breaker is ON and inverter ON/OFF/P switch is ON. In SetApp, go to Commissioning > Maintenance > Diagnostics > Self-test > Battery Self-test > Run test. Wait for the end of tests and check results.
What to do if the self-test fails?
If the charge or discharge test fails, check power and communication cables between battery and inverter. If inverter switch is off, set it to ON. Also check RS485 connection.
How to configure maximum self-consumption?
In SetApp, select Commissioning > Power Control > Energy Manager > Energy Control > Maximum self-consumption. This maximizes use of stored solar energy.
How to verify connection to the monitoring platform?
In SetApp, go to Commissioning > Status. Check that the main inverter displays S_OK - Server Connected. This confirms connection to the SolarEdge platform.
What safety precautions before wiring?
Before any wiring, turn off battery by switching off circuit breaker and power switch. Ensure inverter is off. Wear personal protective equipment. Follow wiring diagrams to avoid short circuits.
How to turn off the battery?
To turn off the LG Chem battery, first switch off the circuit breaker, then the disconnect or auxiliary power switch. Follow the reverse procedure to power it back on.
