ATTENTION ● Indication of a potentially dangerous situation that may lead to damage to property. Safety instructions DANGER ● Danger of explosion. Do not charged non-rechargeable batteries. ● Only use the charger for charging approved battery packs. ● Inspect the charger, charging bay and plug-in power supply for damage every time before use. Do not use any damaged devices. Replace any damaged devices. ● Check the power cable for damage each time before use. Do not use devices with a damaged power cable. In the event of damage, contact KÄRCHER or one of our service partners. ● Do not charge battery packs that are damaged or not completely func- tional. Dispose of damaged or non-functional battery packs immediately, following the applicable regulations on transport and disposal. ● Do not use the charger in an explosive environment or near flammable objects. ● Do not immerse the device in water or hold it under a water stream. ● Do not charge the battery pack unattended. Check the condition of the battery pack and charger regularly during the charging process. ● If you notice a fault, unusual smells or the development of heat during charging, disconnect the charger from the mains and the battery pack from the charger. Dispose of the battery pack and charger immediately and follow the applicable regulations on transport and disposal.16 English 몇 WARNING ● Check that the mains voltage corresponds with the voltage stated on the type plate of the charger. ● Protect the power cable and plug-in power supply from heat, sharp edges, oil and moving device parts. ● Do not open the charger. Repairs are only to be carried out by qualified personnel. ● Pull the plug-in power supply out of the mains socket before cleaning the charger or performing cleaning work. ● Persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities and persons lacking experience and knowledge may only use the appliance if they are properly supervised, have been instructed on use of the appliance safely by a person responsible for their safe- ty, and understand the resultant hazards involved. ● Children must not play with the appliance. ● Children must be supervised to prevent them from playing with the device. ● Children from the minimum age of 8 may use the appli- ance if they are properly supervised or have been instructed in its use by a person responsible for their safety, and if they have understood the resultant hazards involved. ● Children may only perform cleaning work and user main- tenance under supervision. 몇 CAUTION ● Do not operate the device together with other devices on an extension cable with multiple power sockets. ● Do not pull the plug-in power supply out of the power socket using the power cable. ● Do not use the charger when dirty or wet. ● Do not insert the battery pack into the charging bay of the charger if it is dirty or wet. ● Do not use the charger in a dusty environment. ATTENTION ● Short circuit hazard. Protect the charging contacts from metal parts. ● Never cover the charg- er during use. ● Do not carry the charger by the power cable. ● Use the charger only in dry interior spaces with low humidity. Intended use 몇 CAUTION Risk of explosion! Risk of injury and damage due to exploding battery pack. Do not charge defective or not fully functional battery packs. Modifications and changes not authorised by the manufacturer are prohibited.English 17 Any other use is prohibited. The user shall be liable for hazards arising as a result of improper use. Charge only battery packs from the KÄRCHER Battery Power 4 V system. Note Suitable battery packs are marked with the BP 4 V symbol. The voltage information can be found on the device, on the battery pack and its nameplate. Environmental protection The packing materials can be recycled. Please dispose of packaging in accordance with the environmental regulations. Electrical and electronic appliances contain valuable, recyclable materials and often components such as batteries, rechargeable batteries or oil, which - if handled or disposed of incorrectly - can pose a potential threat to human health and the environment. However, these components are required for the correct oper- ation of the appliance. Appliances marked by this symbol are not allowed to be disposed of together with the household rubbish. Store the device in a dry place. Do not subject the device to rain. The device is only suitable for indoor use. Two battery packs can be quickly charged in parallel (at the same time) in the Duo quick charger. (See chapter "Technical data") Operation Charging process p. 22
1. Plug the plug-in power supply into the mains socket.
2. Push the battery pack into the charging bay of the charger.
Illustration B The charger briefly shows the current charge level of the battery pack. The charging process then starts auto- matically. (see chapter "The LED display of the charger")
3. Remove the battery pack from the charger after charging.
4. Unplug the plug-in power supply from the socket.
Note The charged battery pack can remain in the charger until it is used. There is no danger of overcharging. Avoid unnecessary energy consumption and unplug the charger when the battery pack is fully charged.20 English The LED display of the charger The charger shows the charging state of the battery pack via an LED display. There are two types of display: 1 The charging state of the battery pack when inserted (remaining capacity). 2 The charging progress while charging. Note The Duo quick charger charges in parallel, which means that different charging state and charging progress dis- plays are possible for each of the two charging bays. Display of the charging state when inserting the battery pack into the charger When inserting the battery pack into the charger, the current charging state (remaining capacity of the battery pack) is displayed for approx. 3 seconds. Illustration C Display of the charging progress while charging the battery pack The charging progress is displayed when the charging process starts. Flashing elements of the display indicate charging, permanently lit elements indicate that a charging progress point has been reached (40%/70%/100%). Illustration D When the indicator lights up continuously, the battery pack is fully charged. Note The display goes out automatically after one hour after a full charge in order to save energy. Note If the entire display flashes quickly, an error was detected while charging (see chapter "Help with malfunctions").English 21 Transport and storage 몇 CAUTION Failure to observe the weight Risk of injury and damage Be aware of the weight of the device during transport and storage. Store the device only in dry indoor rooms. Care and maintenance The device is maintenance-free. Regularly check the battery terminals for soiling. Clean dirty battery terminals. Occasionally recharge battery packs stored for a longer period. Troubleshooting guide Malfunctions often have simple causes that you can remedy yourself using the following overview. When in doubt, or in the case of malfunctions not mentioned here, please contact your authorised Customer Service. Faults during charging Entire LED display flashes 5 times The charger electronics have detected a fault in the battery pack. All elements of the LED display flash 5 times quickly in succession. The display then goes out for 2 seconds and then starts to flash again quickly 5 times. Illustration E
1. Remove the battery pack from he charger, wait a moment and then reinsert it.
2. If the indicator continues to flash, the battery pack is defective and may no longer be used. Immediately dis-
connect the battery pack from the charger and dispose of it according to regulations. The entire LED display flashes continuously22 English The charger electronics have detected a fault in the charger. All elements of the LED display flash continuously.
