1 INTENDED USE

This pump is used primarily as cellar pump. When installed in a shaft, the pump provides protection from flooding. It is also used wherever water has to be moved from one place to another, e.g. in the home, agriculture, horticulture, plumbing and many other applications. Not suitable for professional use.

WARNING! Read this manual and general safety instructions carefully before using the appliance, for your own safety. Your power tool should only be passed on together with these instructions.

3 PACKAGE CONTENT LIST

■ Remove all packing materials.
- Remove remaining packaging and transit supports (if existing).
- Check the completeness of the packing content.
- Check the appliance, the power cord, the power plug and all accessories for transportation damages.
- Keep the packaging materials as far as possible till the end of the warranty period. Dispose it into your local waste disposal system afterwards.

WARNING! Packing materials are no toys! Children must not play with plastic bags! Danger of suffocation!

5 GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS

Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow all warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless) power tool.

6 BEFORE START-UP, NOTE THE FOLLOWING!

- The pump can be connected to any shock-proof plug which has been installed according to regulations. The plug must have a supply voltage of 230 V \~ 50 Hz. Fuse min. 6 Amp.

Caution!

When the pump is to be used near swimming pools or garden ponds and in their area of protection, it must be equipped with a PRCD (residual current circuit breaker) with a nominal trip current of max. 30 mA (according to VDE 0100, part 702 and 738). The pump must not be operated while people are in the swimming pool or in the garden pond! Please contact your electrician!

Attention!

(Important for your own security) Before starting to run your new submersible pump, please have the following items checked by an expert:

■ Ground connection
■ Zero conductor
- Fault current breaker switch must correspond with the safety regulations of the power plants and they must work faultlessly.
- The electrical connections must be protected from moisture.
- If there is danger of flooding, the electrical connections must be taken to higher ground.
- Circulation of aggressive fluids, as well as the circulation of abrasive materials must be avoided at all costs.

- The submersible motor-driven pump must be protected from frost.

- The pump must be protected from running dry.

- Access on the part of children should also be prevented with appropriate measures.

Consistency

Your submersible pump is designed for the circulation of water with a maximum temperature of 35^ C. This pump may not be used for other fluids, especially motor fuels, cleaning fluids, and other chemical products!

7 INSTALLATION

The submersible pump is installed as follows:

- In a stationary position with fixed pipeline

or

- in a stationary position with a flexible hose pipe.

Please note!

You should never install the pump by suspending it unsupported from its delivery pipe or power cable. The submersible pump must be suspended from the specially provided handle or be placed on the bottom of the shaft. To guarantee that the pump works properly, the bottom of the shaft must be kept free of sludge and dirt of all kinds.

If the level of water sinks too far, any sludge in the shaft will dry out quickly and stop the pump from starting up. Therefore it is necessary to check the submersible motor pump regularly (by carrying out start-up tests). The floater is adjusted in a way that the pump can immediately be started

Mains supply

Your new submersible pump is equipped with a shock-proof plug according to regulations. The pump is designed to be connected to a 230 V - 50 Hz earthed socket. Make sure that the socket is sufficiently secured (min. 6 Amp.) and is in excellent condition. Introduce the plug into the socket and the pump is ready to go.

Important Note!

If the mains cable or plug suffers any damage from external action, repairs to the cable should be serviced by a qualified specialist using only standard spare parts. This will ensure that it meets the required safety standards.

8 SETTING TO WORK

After having read these instructions carefully, you can set your pump to work, reconsidering the following:

• Check if the pump rests on the ground of the shaft.
• Check of pressure cord has been attached properly.
• Check if electrical connection is 230 V - 50 Hz.
• Check if socket is in good condition.
  ■ Make sure that water and humidity can never come to the mains supply.
• Avoid pump running dry.

8.1 Venting the pump before use

- Always ensure that the pump is vented properly before commissioning the pump. Possibly tilting back and forth several times until no more air bubbles appear, wait at least 15 seconds before the pump to start.

This appliance cannot be used by children or people who are physically, mentally or developmentally impaired, or people who lack experience or knowledge, except in case these people receive instruction from a person responsible for their safety, a supervisor, or by studying the preceding instructions concerning use of this appliance.

8.2 Build-in floating switch

• When the switch is on the top (manual), pump will be running continuously without stopping. User has to move the switch down or plug off to stop the machine (Fig. 1).
• When the switch is at 'Automatic' position, the pump will start when water level is above 12 cm (Fig. 2).

9 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Attention! Before performing any work on the equipment, pull the power plug.

Never use solvents such as petrol, alcohol, ammonia water, etc. These solvents may damage the plastic parts.

9.1 Maintenance guidelines

This submersible pump is an approved, maintenance-free high quality product, which is subject to severe final controls. We recommend regular inspection and maintenance to ensure long equipment life and uninterrupted operation.

Important! Note!

Remove the mains plug before all maintenance work.

• When the pump is often transported in the course of operation, it should be cleaned out with clear water after every use.
• In case of stationary installation, the function of the bating switch should be checked every 3 months.
• All fibrous particles which may have built-up inside the pump housing should be removed with a water jet.
• Every 3 months the shaft ground and as should be cleaned from mud.

- Remove deposits on the floater with clear water.

9.2 Cleaning the impeller

If excessive deposits collect in the pump case you must dismantle the bottom part of the pump as follows:

1. Remove the intake cage from the pump case.

2. Clean the impeller with clear water.

Important! Do not put down or rest the pump on the impeller!

11 SERVICE DEPARTMENT

- Damaged switches must be replaced by our after-sales service department.

- If the connecting cable (or mains plug) is damaged, it must be replaced by a particular connecting cable which is available from our service department. Replacement of the connecting cable must only be carried out by our service department (see last page) or by a qualified person (qualified electrician).

13 STORAGE

■ Thoroughly clean the whole machine and its accessories.
- Store it out of the reach of children, in a stable and secure position, in a cool and dry place, avoid too high and too low temperatures.
- Protect it from exposure to direct sunlight. Keep it in the dark, if possible.
- Don't keep it in plastic bags to avoid humidity build-up.

14 WARRANTY

• This product is warranted as provided by law for a 24-month period effective from the date of purchase by the first user.
• This warranty covers all material or production flaws. It does not include defective parts subject to normal wear & tear such as bearings, brushes, cables, and plugs, or accessories such as drills, drill bits, saw blades, etc. ; damage or defects resulting from maltreatment, accidents or alterations; nor the cost of transportation.

- Damage and/or defects resulting from inappropriate use also do not fall under the warranty provisions.

- We also disclaim all liability for any bodily injury resulting from inappropriate use of the tool.

- Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised customer service centre for Powerplus tools.

- Any transportation costs shall always be borne by the customer, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

- At the same time, no claim can be made on the warranty if the damage of the device is the result of negligent maintenance or overload.

- Definitely excluded from the warranty is damage resulting from fluid permeation, excessive dust penetration, intentional damage (on purpose or by gross carelessness), inappropriate usage (use for purposes for which the device is not suitable), incompetent usage (e.g. not following the instructions given in the manual), inexpert assembly, lightning strike, erroneous net voltage. This list is not exhaustive.

- Acceptance of claims under warranty can never lead to the prolongation of the warranty period nor commencement of a new warranty period in case of a device replacement.

- Devices or parts which are replaced under the warranty therefore remain the property of Varo NV.

- We reserve the right to reject a claim whenever the purchase cannot be verified or when it is clear that the product has not been properly maintained. (Clean ventilation slots, carbon brushes serviced regularly, etc.).

- Your purchase receipt must be kept as proof of date of purchase.

- Your appliance must be returned undismantled to your dealer in an acceptably clean state, (in its original blow-moulded case if applicable to the unit), accompanied by proof of purchase.

15 ENVIRONMENT

Should your appliance need replacement after extended use, do not discard it with the household rubbish but dispose of it in an environmentally safe way. Waste produced by electrical machine items should not be handled like normal household rubbish. Please recycle where recycle facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.

Pre početka održavanja iskopčajte utikač

• U slučaju da se pumpa često transportuje u toku rada, nakon svakog rada je treba očistiti sa čistom vodom.
• U slučaju stacionarnog instaliranja treba proveravati svaka 3 meseca funkciju prekidača za plovak.
• Uklonite sve vlaknaste materije, koje su se možda nagomilale unutar pumpe, sa mlazom vode.
  ■ Svaka 3 meseca očistite dno okna od blata.
  ■ Uklonite naslage na plovak sa čistom vodom.

9.2 Čišćenje kolo pumpe za vodu

Ako se prekomerno nakupe naslage u kućištu pumpe, onda morate skinuti donji deo pumpe kao što sledi:

1. Uklonite usisni kavez iz kućišta pumpe.
2. Očistite kolo pumpe sa čistom vodom.

14 GARANCIJA

• U skladu sa zakonskim odredbama, ovaj proizvod je pod garancijom 24 meseca od dana kupovine od strane prvog korisnika.
• Ova garancija pokriva sve materijalne i fabričke greške, ali ne uključuje: baterije, punjače, neispravne delove podložne uobičajenom habanju kao što su ležišta, četkice, kablovi i utikači ili pribor kao što su bušilice, svrdla, listovi testera, itd.; oštećenja ili defekte nastale usled nepravilne upotrebe, nezqoda ili prepravki; kao ni troškove transporta.
• Oštećenja i/ili kvarovi koji se rezultat neodgovarajuće upotrebe takođe nisu obuhvaćeni odredbama ove garancije.
• Takođe ne snosimo nikakvu odgovornost za bilo koje telesne povrede koje su rezultat neodgovarajuće upotrebe ovog alata.
• Popravke se mogu vršiti samo u ovlašćenom centru korisničke službe za Powerplus alate.

• Sve troškove transporta će snositi korisnik osim u slučaju kada je drugačije dogovoreno u pisanom obliku.
• Istovremeno, nikakva reklamacija u vezi sa garancijom neće biti priznata ukoliko je oštećenje uređaja posledica nemarnog održavanja ili preopterećenja.
• Ova garancija apsolutno ne obuhvata oštećenja nastala usled prodora tečnosti, prekomernog prodora prašine, namernog oštećenja (namerno usled grube nepažnje), nepravilne upotrebe (korišćenje u svrhe za koje uređaj nije podoban), nekompetentne upotrebe (npr. nepoštovanje uputstava datih u uputstvima za upotrebu), nestručnog sklapanja, udara groma, neodgovarajućeg napona. Ovaj spisak nije restriktivan.
• Prihvatanje reklamacija obuhvaćenih garancijom nikada ne može da produži period važenja garancije niti da predstavlja početak novog garantnog roka u slučaju zamene uređaja.
  ■ Uređajii ili delovi koji su zamenieni u garantnom roku su prema tome vlasništvo Varo NV.
• Zadržavamo pravo da odbijemo svaki zahtev ako se kupovina ne može potvrditi ili ako je očigledno da proizvod nije održavan na odgovarajući način (čisti otvori za ventilaciju, redovno servisiranje grafitnih četkica....).
  ■ Morate čuvati račun i garantni list kao dokaz o datumu kupovine.
• Nerasklopljen alat prodavcu morate vratiti u prihvatljivo čistom stanju unutar originalne kutije od duvane plastike (ako je prikladno za jedinicu), zajedno sa dokazom o kupovini.
