USER MANUAL 16558 APA
The APA LI600A is a member of the family of advanced mobile Li-Ion Jump Starters manufactured by EAL GmbH. The APA Li-Ion-Jump Starter enables you to securely start your vehicle in case your battery is weak – with the help of our PRE-HEAT function even in cold ambient conditions. As a bonus we built-in 2 USB-Ports for powering or charging e.g. your sat nav or cell phone. A built in ultra-bright LED flashlight helps you jump-starting your vehicle at night or serves as a signal light. You can boost your car battery up to 10 times on a full charge. We have taken numerous measures in quality control to ensure that your product arrives in top condition and will perform to your satisfaction. Please carefully read and follow the safety and operating instructions. Not following these instructions may result in a serious accident, including damaged property or serious injuries or even loss of life.
If you are not confident working with your car´s 12V DC voltage or are unsure of what you are doing, do not attempt to jump-start your car. Consider to seek for help by a professional breakdown service (roadside towing service) or your vehicle´s manufacturer.Read your car´s owner's manual! Some vehicle manufacturers have special requirements before jumpstarting the vehicle (e.g. fuses that have to be removed or certain security demands). Some vehicles manufacturers place the battery in the cargo area or trunk. These vehicles often have designated jump-start terminals
This System is intended to be used only on vehicles with a 12 Volt DC automotive battery. NEVER CONNECT to 6V, 24V or other batteries. Do not use the jump starter for other things than the intended usage. Not following these instructions could cause serious personal injury or material damage.
Never touch or connect the red to the black clamps - This can cause dangerous sparks, electric arcing or explosions.
Use in dry environment only. Keep the unit dry and clean. Do not use the unit close to open fire. Do not operate the unit in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Please stop charging or using the device and power-off the device, if the unit is getting hot, is smoking or leaks any liquid. MAINTENANCE Do not open the body casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Damage due to improper use, modifications or attempted repairs lead to the exclusion of liability and the loss of warranty. ATTENTION: After each failed attempt to jumpstart your car, take a break for at least 1 minute to avoid overheating.PARTS

3Turn the POWER-Switch (6) to ON. Plug-in the delivered 12V charger to the unit´s 12V INPUT (5). The bars on the right side (10) of the LCD-Display (2) indicate the state of the battery capacity. The bars will show up from bottom to top to signify that the charging process (up to 10 hours) is running.
LED FLASHLIGHT / SIGNAL-LIGHT
The built-in ultra-bright LED Light helps you to jump-start your car in a dark environment. The FLASH-mode can be used e.g. to secure an accident site (lasts up to 120 hours).
- Turn on the POWER-Switch (6)
ATTENTION: Don´t use the USB-Ports during jump-starting !
Use the built-in 5 Volts USB-Ports (4) to power or charge your USB-devices: e.g. cell phones, sat nav, car electronics. The 1st USB Port delivers a current up to 1 A (5 Watts) The 2nd USB Port delivers a current up to 2.1 A (10,5 Watts) STORAGE After use, this unit should be fully charged and stored in a dry, well ventilated place out of the reach of children. If the unit is not frequently used, turn the POWER-Switch (6) to OFF in order to ensure a low self-discharge (10µA). Recharge at the latest every 6-8 month. Only charge with the provided charging unit. Do not store in locations where temperature may exceed 45°C/113°F or get lower than 0°C/32°F. Protect the unit from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. EXPERT MODE DANGER ! – EXPERT-MODE (Only to be used by qualified persons! Exercise extreme caution!)
If the car battery is absolutely discharged (voltage lower than 3V), the device cannot identify the battery and boost it. In this case the EXPERT-MODE can be activated by pressing the START-button for 5 seconds (LCD display will show countdown, then press START-button again for confirmation): The device behaves now as a Li-Ion-battery - 12V and max. 300A are now available directly to its clamps (for jumpstarting or other purposes).
WARNING: SHORT-CIRCUIT PROTECTION AND THE AUTOMATIC SWITCH-OFF-FUNCTION (AFTER
REMOVING THE CLAMPS), DEACTIVATE IN EXPERT-MODE ! JUMP-STARTING YOUR CAR (12V ONLY !) NOTE: Read your car´s owner's manual! 1. Preparation: Make sure there’s no oxide or dirt on the vehicle battery’s terminal.
2. Check the battery capacity (10) (more than 3 bars or 12.8V are required for the unit to work properly)
3. Connect the red (+) clamp to your vehicle´s positive (+) battery terminal
4. Connect the black (–) clamp to your vehicle´s negative (-) battery terminal (GND)
5. Check whether the ATTENTION (8)-icon appears. If no error occurs, press the START-Button (required for
each start attempt) and wait until the device is ready to jump-start your car (icon 11 appears).
6. Start your car. If the jump-start fails, check all connections and repeat the last step.
7. Turn off the device (POWER-Switch (6) OFF) and disconnect the black and the red clamps. (For your security:
Disconnecting the clamps will turn off the device, too.)LCD DISPLAY ATTENTION (8) : This icon will flash on the LCD display, if a serious problem occurs: short- circuit or reverse polarity. Power-off and disconnect immediately and check everything again. Internal Battery Voltage (9) Show´s the voltage of the jump starters battery. In order to jump-start your vehicle it has to be above 12.8 Volts (more than 3 bars) Internal Battery Capacity (10) Indicates the jump starter´s battery capacity. In order to jump-start your vehicle it has to be more than 3 bars (above 12.8 Volts). When charging, the bars will show up from bottom to top to signify that the charging process (up to 10 hours) is running. A flashing battery icon symbolizes an empty battery: The unit will not work until the battery is recharged. Ready to Boost (11) This icon appears when the unit is ready to jump-start your vehicle. Pre-Heating (12) This icon appears, when the unit detects a low ambient temperature (<0℃ or <32°F). The battery has to be warmed up in order to work properly. Please wait until the icon disappears (up to 5 minutes), before jump-starting. Please note: At temperatures below -20℃ or -4°F the PRE-HEAT-function isn´t able to warm up the unit. Car Battery Voltage (13) Shows the current voltage of your car battery. Do not confuse it with the jump starter´s internal battery voltage (9). Over-Heat Warning (14) This icon appears when the device is overheated. Check the ATTENTION-Symbol. Power- off the device and wait until the unit has cooled down. This can happen when jump-starting several times in a short period of time or at high ambient temperatures (>65℃ or 149°F).
