III. INTENDED USE AND LIMITATIONS
This SCOTT product is strictly limited for the respective use indicated by the pictograms on the product (see chapter IV. Product Information). The intended and reasonably foreseeable use of this product is solely: skiing, snowboarding or mountaineering.
A. RISK AGAINST WHICH THE PPE IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT
This SCOTT product is designed and manufactured to reduce the risk of injury to the skull and part of the head covered by the helmet. The product does not safeguard against other traumas and cannot always prevent death or long term disability.

D. MISUSES
We recommend that the SCOTT product should not be left outside, exposed to high temperatures or direct sunlight before use. Any product modifications may cause loss of protection and are therefore considered as improper use. Never tamper with any part of the helmets. Helmets should not be adapted for the purpose of fitting accessories in a way not recommended by the manufacturer.
IV. PRODUCT INFORMATION
A. MARKING ON THE PRODUCTS

V. TIME OF OBSOLESCENCE
Personal protective equipment has limited lifespan. For optimum safety, SCOTT recommends replacing your product three (3) years after the purchasing date.
The product may lose its protective properties after heavy impacts or impacts that result in damages to the product. In such cases, the product must be replaced. SCOTT shall not be liable for damages relating to the use of products which should have been replaced.
VI. INSTRUCTIONS FOR SIZING, FIT
Please bear in mind that a trial of the product before purchase is the best way to find the correct size, which should be chosen from the manufacturer's size chart. SCOTT Sports SA shall not accept any complaints arising from the use of an incorrectly fitted product.
A. CHOOSING THE CORRECT SIZE
SCOTT helmets are offered in a variety of sizes, making it easy for you to find the one that fits just right.
If possible, try on different sizes and choose the size that feels most secure and comfortable on your head. Grab the helmet with both hands while it is sitting firmly on your head and twist it left and right. If the helmet fits properly, it will move only minimally or not at all. If it moves too much, review the fit system adjustments.
WARNING! If you cannot adjust your helmet so that it fits properly, then please do not use this helmet! Choose another helmet size or another helmet model.
Your SCOTT dealer will gladly help you.
B. POSITION AND FIT
To obtain maximum comfort and protection, the product must cover the protected area correctly as follows.
The front of the helmet should be positioned closely just above your eyebrows. If the helmet is too low, then it will prevent you from seeing potential dangers. If the helmet is too high, then optimal protection is not ensured.
If applicable, try to buckle on your ski goggles. If the helmet fits properly, then your forehead is completely covered by the helmet and ski goggles. Make sure to use ski goggles that are compatible with this helmet.
Prior to using any helmet make sure that it fits properly and the straps are adjusted correctly. Pull the chin straps tight enough so that the helmet fits correctly. Put the helmet in the proper position (A) and look at yourself in a mirror to check that the helmet fits.
The SCOTT helmet design ensures that it offers optimal protection and remains securely on your head in the event of an accident.
Position the helmet in such a way that the front edge is pitched low to protect your forehead and the helmet is level on your head (A). Never wear your helmet tilted back so that it exposes your forehead (B).

C. CHIN STRAP ADJUSTMENT
While wearing the helmet, the chin straps must always be secured by the clip and pulled tight. (C) & (D) show how the clip is opened and closed. (E) shows the correct position and fit of the chin strap during use. It should be tight enough so that you can still chew an energy bar and swallow it. After correctly sizing the chin strap ensure that the loose end of the chin strap has been guided through and secured by the rubber o-ring (F). If this is not done the chin strap may become loose, compromising the fit and safety of the helmet. Make sure that the chin strap is worn close to the top of the neck (E). If the strap is worn on the tip of the chin, then the probability of the helmet coming off in an accident is increased.

The ratchet buckle offers many advantages, such as being able to quickly adjust the tension of the chinstrap without having to adjust the strap length. Once the ratchet buckle is closed, give the chin strap a quick pull. If the buckle releases, it has not been properly closed. Proceed until the buckle stays fixed.
SCOTT BLEND PLUS | WHEL2201
The magnetic buckle offers many advantages, such as being able to easily manipulate with gloved hands. To make sure that the buckle is properly fitted, follow the instructions pictured below. Once the magnetic buckle is closed, give the chin strap a quick tug. If the buckle releases, it has not been properly closed. Proceed until the buckle stays fixed.

THIS IS IMPORTANT! If you can push the SCOTT helmet so far forward that your view is obstructed or so far back that your forehead is exposed, then your helmet does not fit properly.
D. FIT SYSTEM ADJUSTMENT
SCOTT helmets come with the exclusive SCOTT WRAS 2 / HALO / JRAS stabilizing and fitting system. If your helmet is equipped with one of the above, to adjust your fitting systems, follow these steps:
(G) To tighten the fit system turn the dial clockwise to a comfortable fit.
(H) To loosen the system turn the dial counterclockwise.
As with any new piece of equipment you should experiment with the adjustment of your fit system before using the helmet.
After adjusting the fit system the helmet should fit your head securely and comfortably, it should be snug but not uncomfortable.

G HE. HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
Find your helmet and fit system at www.scott-sports.com.
Height adjustment of the rear of the fit system is a great way to achieve a perfect fit. This is possible for SCOTT WRAS 2 and HALO fit systems. The factory position is good for the majority of users, however some users may find one of the other two or three positions works better for them. Adjusting the height at the rear can also adjust the height of the front of the helmet on the head.
WRAS 2 fit system: With this fit system, you can adjust the height by changing the position of the connection with the helmet. To do this, simply push or pull the main part of the fit system with the wheel to reach the bottom or top position.

RAS 1 2SCOTT COULOIR MOUNTAIN | WHEL1702, SCOTT COULOIR FREERIDE | WHEL1902, SCOTT COULOIR TOUR RE-SOURCE | WHEL1902
HALO fit system: You can easily adjust the height when the helmet is on your head. If your helmet does not fit your head comfortably when in the middle position, then push the rear of the fit system up or pull it down to adjust the height of the rear of the fit system. There are three positions in total. Please make sure that each arm of the fit system is securely clicked into the helmet.

text_image
HALO 1 2 3F. ADDITIONAL ADJUSTMENTS OF THE STRAPS AT YOUR EARS
The strap guide should be positioned so that it fits just under your earlobes. To do this, push the strap guide up or down until you find the proper position. If you are satisfied with these adjustments, put the helmet on and try to pull the helmet off your head from the back and the front. A helmet that fits properly should be comfortable without sliding forwards or backwards. If you are not able to adjust your chosen helmet accordingly, THEN DO NOT USE THE HELMET - replace it with a different size helmet or a different model.
Note: Please always make sure your helmet (or your child's helmet) is properly adjusted each time before starting your activity. If you have any questions, please contact your SCOTT dealer.
G. ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONS
SCOTT helmets can be used with or without ear covers. Be aware that, without the ear covers, the helmet's protective capacity can only be achieved in part and that the exposed parts of your ears may be injured during a fall or the like.
VII. INSTRUCTIONS
A. CARE AND CLEANING
Clean your helmet with a soft cloth or sponge, warm water, and mild soap. Helmets are made of material that can be damaged by many traditional cleaning agents. Solvents or cleaning agents with a petroleum base are particularly dangerous. These can damage the helmet to such an extent that its protective ability is significantly compromised. Damage is often not noticeable. SCOTT Sports is not liable for any damages caused by improper cleaning.
Lining: You can easily remove the inner lining by hand and wash it by hand using a mild soap. Never machine-wash the lining pieces at high temperatures.
For cleaning, maintenance or disinfection, use only substances that have no adverse effect on the helmet and are not known to be likely to have any adverse effect upon the wearer.
B. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
When transporting or storing keep your helmet in the soft bag if supplied in the retail box. Let your helmet air dry after each use and then store it in a cool dry place. Excessive heat can damage your helmet. In direct sunlight, dark equipment cases or trunks of automobiles can become so hot as to cause heat damage. Heat damaged helmets are recognizable by uneven or blistered surfaces. Exposure to sunlight may cause color fading. SCOTT Sports SA shall not be liable for any damages and losses due to improper storage.
C. CHECKING OF WEAR AND TEAR
It is recommended to regularly inspect your gear. If doubtful, please ask an expert or your friendly dealer. The protection it offers could be reduced due to mechanical wear or improper use. Before use, please check the product for any damage to the straps, stitching and pads. Dispose of the product if you notice any damage.
D. DISPOSAL
Dispose of the products in the domestic waste. Do not tamper or incinerate the product. This may lead to potential hazards.
VIII. WARNING
The intended and reasonably foreseeable use of this product is solely: skiing and snowboarding. THIS HELMET IS NOT INTENDED TO BE USED FOR MOTOR SPORTS, ON MOPEDS OR FOR OTHER USES.
SCOTT COULOIR MOUNTAIN | WHEL1702
Field of application is extended to mountaineering (EN12492:2012).
Please always be careful and act with caution when skiing and snowboarding. Observe the safety regulations, the International Ski Federation rules (FIS) and do your part in avoiding accidents.
1- Always make sure your helmet fits properly.
2- Always fasten the buckle and tighten the strap.
3- First check that your helmet is properly adjusted every time you wear it.
4- Regularly examine your helmet for signs of wear or visible damage.
5- Avoid wearing other people's helmets, due to size differences and unknown usage.
6- Never wear anything hard or sharp under your helmet.
7- NEVER TAKE ANY UNNECESSARY RISKS JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE WEARING A HELMET.
8- Only use original spare parts recommended by the manufacturer. Never attach anything to your helmet if the manufacturer does not issue a declaration of no objection for that item. Your SCOTT specialist dealer will gladly help you.
As a rule, helmet-compatible ski goggles or other items, such as headlamps, can be attached to the helmet with an elastic band only.
9- Never wear a helmet that has already cushioned a severe impact.
It should be destroyed and replaced, even if it seems undamaged. This helmet was designed to absorb the impact through partial destruction of the energy-absorbing foam insert. This damage may not always be directly visible.
10- No helmet can protect the user from all injuries in all accidents, in particular in collisions with motor vehicles. Depending on the strength of impact, even an accident at very low speeds can cause significant injuries or death.
11- Warning! This helmet should not be used by children while climbing or doing other activities when there is a risk of strangulation/hanging if the child gets trapped with the helmet.
12- This product is not a toy. It is sports equipment and is designed and intended for sports.
13- Keep this information brochure in a safe place for product-specific questions. SCOTT Sports SA shall not accept complaints or replace helmets that have been used improperly.
WARNING: THIS PRODUCT CAN EXPOSE YOU TO CHEMICALS, INCLUDING BISPHENOL A, WHICH ARE KNOWN TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CAUSE CANCER, OR BIRTH DEFECTS OR OTHER REPRODUCTIVE HARM. FOR MORE INFORMATION GO TO WWW.P65WARNINGS.CA.GOV

INFO FOR SCOTT SYMBOL 2 PLUS D | WHEL1701
SCOTT PROGRESSIVE IMPACT ABSORPTION
SCOTT Progressive Impact Absorption improves protection for low and mid speed impacts while still surpassing the EN1077:2007 standard requirements. Whilst all helmets are designed and certified so as to provide some protection against the risk of impacts, studies have shown that low and mid speed impacts can still cause headaches, concussions and other injuries.
The SCOTT Progressive Impact Absorption construction provides better protection against these lesser impacts by combining viscoelastic foam with traditional EPS and provides the following benefits:
1- Forces transmitted to the head for low and mid speed impacts are reduced significantly compared to the traditional EPS helmets we have tested.
2- A helmet with the SCOTT Progressive Impact Absorption can withstand better multiple impacts at lower speeds.
3- The helmet still surpasses EN1077:2007 standard even after multiple low or mid speed impacts. Whereas traditional EPS helmets may lose absorption performance after multiple low and mid speed impacts in a way that they might not meet the standard impact requirement anymore.
Every helmet should be always replaced after a serious impact. The helmet is engineered so that the viscoelastic foam is strategically placed in key areas. The performances of the SCOTT Progressive Impact Absorption were tested at the indicated spots below at a temperature of -10^ C.
