Read these instructions thoroughly before using the appliance. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users.

• Make sure that the mains voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating label of the appliance and that the wall outlet is grounded.

• This product is for household only. Do not use for commercial or industrial purposes and do not use outdoors.

• Check the power cord regularly for visible damage. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec in order to avoid any type of danger.

• Do not use the device if its cord or any other part is damaged. In this case, contact the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec.

• Keep children away from the packaging materials. Risk of suffocation.

• The appliance must be checked frequently for signs of wear or damage. If such signs are present, of if the appliance has been used improperly, contact the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec. Do not try to repair the device by yourself.

• Switch off the device immediately in the event of defects or malfunctions.

• Do not use accessories or parts that have not been provided by Cecotec.

• Do not leave the device unattended while in use.

• Do not try to open, disassemble or repair the product. There are no serviceable parts inside the device.

• The device is exclusively designed for cutting natural hair. Do not use with artificial or animal hair.

• Cecotec accepts no liability for damage caused by improper or incorrect use.

• Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any non-removable part of the appliance in water or any other liquid, nor expose the electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.

• Do not operate the device near water or in places where there is risk of getting wet.

• Do not use the device if your skin or head skin is damaged or suffers from any type of illness.

• While the appliance is not being operated, ensure the protective cover is always assembled in its position.

• Turn off and unplug the device from the power supply before assembling or disassembling attachments.

• This appliance cannot be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge. Supervise young children to make sure that they do not play with the appliance.14 15 ENGLISH ENGLISH

7. Lubricating oil bottle

1. Take the product out of the box.

2. Remove all packaging materials. Keep the original box.

3. Make sure all the components are included and in good conditions, otherwise,

contact immediately the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec.

4. Oil the device’s blades before the first use.

WARNING: Switch OFF the device before replacing or changing the attachments.

1. Make sure the device is turned OFF before installing or manipulating the blade

Removing the blade head

1. Make sure the device is turned OFF before installing or manipulating the blade

2. Hold the device firmly and press upwards against the arrow of the blade head.

3. Carefully detach the blade head from the main body.

Installing the comb attachment

1. Make sure the device is turned OFF before installing the comb attachment.

2. Align the cut length dial (1) to indicator “10”.

3. Mount the comb attachment to the main body as shown below

Note: The length of the cut may vary depending on the trimming angle. Begin with a cut length dial for a longer cutting length and then use progressively shorter cutting lengths as you cut hair. Operating instructions

1. Slide the power switch to the OFF position to turn OFF the device.

2. Mount the comb attachment and adjust the length setting to match the desired

5. Avoid clogging the comb with hair by removing and periodically cleaning it.

Note: The cut length dial will not turn when the device is switched ON.

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Turn off and disconnect the device from the mains supply before cleaning, maintaining it or assembling or disassembling any of its parts.

• To clean the attachment, first remove it, brush it with the cleaning brush and blow out hair clippings from the attachment and the main body of the device.

• Remove the comb and blade attachments and rinse them under running water. Do not use hot water.

• Do not use compressed air, abrasive scouring pads, powders or cleaners to clean the product.

• Do not immerse the appliance’s body in water or any other liquid or place it under running water.

• Attachments are waterproof; therefore, they can be washed with water if necessary. Dry them thoroughly before storing or using them again.

• Clean the device and the attachments after each use with the cleaning brush. Remove the attachment and rinse it under warm running water. Do not use hot water.

Warning: the body of the device is not washable. Do not submerge in water.

• Rinsing attachments under water (above) requires lubricating the cutting blades once per month. Using only light-grade oils (e.g. sewing machine oil), simply spread 1-2 drops lightly over cutters with the fingertip. Wipe away all excess.

• Use only light-grade oils as these will not evaporate nor slow down the speed of the cutting blades.

• Do not use hair oil, grease, or any oil mixed with kerosene nor solvent as these too will evaporate.

7. DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

The European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), specifies that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of with the normal unsorted municipal waste. Old appliances must be collected separately, in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation to dispose of the appliance correctly. If the product has a built-in battery or uses batteries, they should be removed from the appliance and disposed of appropriately. Consumers must contact their local authorities or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of old appliances and/or their batteries.

This product is under warranty for 2 years from the date of purchase, as long as the proof of purchase is submitted, the product is in perfect physical condition, and it has been given proper use, as explained in this instruction manual. The warranty will not cover the following situations:

• The product has been used for purposes other than those intended for it, misused, beaten, exposed to moisture, immersed in liquid or corrosive substances, as well as any other fault attributable to the customer.

• The product has been disassembled, modified, or repaired by persons, not authorised by the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec.

• Faults deriving from the normal wear and tear of its parts, due to use.

• The warranty service covers every manufacturing defects of your appliance for 2 years, based on current legislation, except consumable parts. In the event of misuse, the warranty will not apply.
