M316600 electronic Flat scale Safety This product may be used by children aged 8 and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the product and understand the risks that may arise. Children must not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are 8years of age or older and are being supervised. Batteries, when swallowed, can be life-threatening. You should therefore keep the batteries and scale out of reach of small children. If a battery has been swallowed, medical assistance must be sought immediately. DANGER for children Keep packaging material away from children. There is a risk of choking if swallowed. Also pay attention that children do not pull the packaging material over their heads. RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion There is a risk of explosion if the batteries are replaced improperly. Replace the batteries only with the same or equivalent battery type. Pay attention to the “Technical data”. Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into re, or short-circuited. Otherwise, there is an increased risk of explosion and leakage; furthermore, gases may escape! Avoid contact of the battery uid with skin, eyes, and mucosa. In case of contact, immediately rinse the aected areas with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor. WARNING of risk of injury Do not step onto the outer edge of any one side of the scale. Risk of tipping! Do not step onto the scale with wet feet or when its surface is damp. Risk of slipping! M316600 electronic Flat scale English BEWARE of material damage Place the scale on a stable, even surface. Do not overload the scale. Pay attention to the “Technical data”. Place yourself on the scale exclusively for weighing purposes. Protect the scale from strong shocks and vibrations. Remove the batteries from the scale when they are depleted or when you are no longer using the scale. You will thus avoid damage that may result from leakage of battery acid. When inserting and changing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-). Do not subject the batteries to any extreme conditions, by – for example – storing them on radiators or under direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage! Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery. Do not make any modications to the product. Only allow repairs to be carried out by a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out improperly can considerably endanger the user. Do not place the scale in the vicinity of devices that may emit electromagnetic radiation, such as mobile phones, wireless devices, or the like. Doing so may lead to incorrect display indications or malfunctions. There are feet on the underside of the scale. Since oor surfaces are made from various materials and are treated with diverse care products, it cannot be completely excluded that some of these substances contain ingredients that may adversely aect and soften the feet of the device. If necessary, place a non-slip pad under the scale. Intended use This scale is used for weighing people. The maximum load capacity of 200 kg must not be exceeded.Overview

M316600 electronic Flat scale English Start up Inserting/changing batteries For use you need 4 batteries of type LR03 (AAA), 1.5 V (included). The battery compartment is located on the underside of the device.

1. Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow and remove it.

2. Insert the batteries as indicated at the bottom of the battery compartment. Pay

attention to the correct polarity (+/-).

3. Replace the battery compartment cover and push it against the direction of the

arrow as far as it will go. Suggestions for changing the battery: A battery change is necessary when “Lo” or nothing at all is shown on the display. Only use the type of battery that is specied in the “Technical data”. Always change all batteries at the same time. Dispose of old batteries in an environmentally appropriate way (see “Disposal”). Calibrate the scale, see “Setting up the scale”. Choosing the unit of measurement The standard unit of measurement upon delivery is “kg” (kilogramme). However, the measurement result can also be displayed in the English unit “lb” (pound) or “st:lb” (stone:pound).

1. To switch on the scale, step on the middle of the weighing surface.

2. Use the UNIT button on the back of the scale to set the desired unit of

1. Place the scale on an even, firm and dry surface. Do not place the scale on a carpet.

2. First, briefly step onto the middle of the weighing surface to calibrate the scale. As

soon as the display shows “0.0”, calibration is complete. This calibration must be performed after each battery change.Weighing

M316600 electronic Flat scale Weighing Easy weighing WARNING against injuries − Do not step onto the scale with wet feet or when its surface is damp. Risk of slipping! − Position yourself on the scale. Stand still and do not hold on to anything. Shortly afterwards, the measured weight is displayed flashing. You can now step off the scale. The result is displayed for a few seconds (auto-hold function). After a few seconds the scales will deactivate automatically. Mother-child function This function is intended for weighing infants and very young children. Note the display: The symbols shown always indicate what to do next when weighing.

1. Switch on the scale by stepping on the weighing surface with a little force.

2. Press and hold the UNIT button until a person symbol is displayed at the bottom

3. Step on the weighing surface and weigh yourself. The result is displayed.

4. Now hold your child in your arms and weigh yourself together.

After a short time, the child's weight is displayed, then yours again. After a few display cycles, in which both measurement results are displayed alternately, the scale switches off automatically. To switch off the mother-child function:

1. Switch on the scale by stepping on the weighing surface with a little force.

2. Press and hold the UNIT button until the person symbol disappears from the

display. Resetting the scale Reset the scale to its default settings if unusual or obviously incorrect values are shown on the display.

2. Reinsert the batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity of the batteries (+/-).

After switching the scale on, you can weigh yourself as usual. Cleaning NOTE on material damage − Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids. − Never use harsh, scouring or abrasive cleaning agents or the like to clean the scale. Otherwise, the surface could be scratched.

1. Wipe the scale as needed with a slightly damp soft cloth.

2. Disinfect the weighing surface from time to time using a suitable disinfecting agent
