DANGER for children

- Keep packaging material away from children. There is a risk of choking if swallowed. Also pay attention that children do not pull the packaging material over their heads.

RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion

• There is a risk of explosion if the batteries are replaced improperly. Replace the batteries only with the same or equivalent battery type. Pay attention to the "Technical data".
• Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into fire, or short-circuited. Otherwise, there is an increased risk of explosion and leakage; furthermore, gases may escape!
• Avoid contact of the battery fluid with skin, eyes, and mucosa. In case of contact, immediately rinse the affected areas with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor.

WARNING of risk of injury

• Do not step onto the outer edge of any one side of the scale. Risk of tipping!
• Do not step onto the scale with wet feet or when its surface is damp. Risk of slipping!
• If the scale falls down and shatters, there is a risk of injury from glass splinters.

BEWARE of material damage

• Place the scale on a stable, even surface.
• Do not overload the scale. Pay attention to the "Technical data". Place yourself on the scale exclusively for weighing purposes.
• Protect the scale from strong shocks and vibrations.
• Remove the batteries from the scale when they are depleted or when you are no longer using the scale. You will thus avoid damage that may result from leakage of battery acid.
• When inserting and changing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-).
• Do not subject the batteries to any extreme conditions, by – for example – storing them on radiators or under direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage!
• Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery.
• Do not make any modifications to the product. Only allow repairs to be carried out by a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out improperly can considerably endanger the user.
• Do not place the scale in the vicinity of devices that may emit electromagnetic radiation, such as mobile phones, wireless devices, or the like. Doing so may lead to incorrect display indications or malfunctions.
• There are feet on the underside of the scale. Since floor surfaces are made from various materials and are treated with diverse care products, it cannot be completely excluded that some of these substances contain ingredients that may adversely affect and soften the feet of the device. If necessary, place a non-slip pad under the scale.

Inserting/changing batteries

For use you need 4 batteries of type LR03 (AAA), 1.5 V (included). The battery compartment is located on the underside of the device.

1. Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow and remove it.
2. Insert the batteries as indicated at the bottom of the battery compartment. Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-).
3. Replace the battery compartment cover and push it against the direction of the arrow as far as it will go.

Suggestions for changing the battery:

• A battery change is necessary when "Lo" or nothing at all is shown on the display.

• Only use the type of battery that is specified in the "Technical data".

• Always change all batteries at the same time.

• Dispose of old batteries in an environmentally appropriate way (see "Disposal").
• Calibrate the scale, see "Setting up the scale".

Choosing the unit of measurement

The standard unit of measurement upon delivery is "kg" (kilogramme). However, the measurement result can also be displayed in the English unit "lb" (pound) or "st:lb" (stone:pound).

1. To switch on the scale, step on the middle of the weighing surface.
2. Use the UNIT button on the back of the scale to set the desired unit of measurement. Note the display.

Setting up the scale

1. Place the scale on an even, firm and dry surface. Do not place the scale on a carpet.
2. First, briefly step onto the middle of the weighing surface to calibrate the scale. As soon as the display shows "0.0", calibration is complete. This calibration must be performed after each battery change.

Easy weighing

WARNING against injuries

- Do not step onto the scale with wet feet or when its surface is damp. Risk of slipping!

- Position yourself on the scale. Stand still and do not hold on to anything.

Shortly afterwards, the measured weight is displayed flashing.

You can now step off the scale. The result is displayed for a few seconds (auto-hold function).

After a few seconds the scales will deactivate automatically.

Mother-child function

This function is intended for weighing infants and very young children.

Note the display: The symbols shown always indicate what to do next when weighing.

1. Switch on the scale by stepping on the weighing surface with a little force.
2. Press and hold the UNIT button until a person symbol is displayed at the bottom left.
3. Step on the weighing surface and weigh yourself. The result is displayed.
4. Now hold your child in your arms and weigh yourself together.

After a short time, the child's weight is displayed, then yours again. After a few display cycles, in which both measurement results are displayed alternately, the scale switches off automatically.

To switch off the mother-child function:

1. Switch on the scale by stepping on the weighing surface with a little force.
2. Press and hold the UNIT button until the person symbol disappears from the display.

Resetting the scale

Reset the scale to its default settings if unusual or obviously incorrect values are shown on the display.

1. Remove the batteries from the battery compartment and wait a moment.

2. Reinsert the batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity of the batteries (+/-). After switching the scale on, you can weigh yourself as usual.

Cleaning

NOTE on material damage

-Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids.
- Never use harsh, scouring or abrasive cleaning agents or the like to clean the scale. Otherwise, the surface could be scratched.

1. Wipe the scale as needed with a slightly damp soft cloth.
2. Disinfect the weighing surface from time to time using a suitable disinfecting agent (available at specialist retailers and pharmacies).
