Frequently Asked Questions - NS3000 YAMAHA

How to install the included cushion pads?
Place the cushion pads under the four corners of the speaker to protect the surface. Do not use adhesive or double-sided tape.
What is the port plug used for?
The port plug attenuates the bass. Insert it into the Twisted Flare Port to reduce the level of low frequencies according to your environment.
How to connect the speakers to the amplifier?
Strip 15 mm of insulation, twist the wires, loosen the terminal, insert the stripped wire and tighten the terminal. Respect polarity red (+), black (-).
What to do if the sound lacks bass?
Check the polarity of the connections: reversing the + and - terminals reduces bass. Also ensure the port plug is not inserted by mistake.
Can I use these speakers with a high-power amplifier?
Yes, but do not exceed the maximum input power of 120 W. Check compatibility with your amplifier.
How to clean the speakers?
Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use benzene, thinner, or chemical cloths that could damage the lacquered finish.
Are the speakers magnetically shielded?
Yes, they are equipped with magnetic shielding. However, do not place them too close to a CRT television.
Can I use banana plugs?
Yes, screw the terminal knob, then insert the banana plug directly into the terminal.
What to do if the port plug falls inside the speaker?
Contact your Yamaha dealer or authorized service center. Do not attempt to remove it yourself to avoid damaging the speaker.
How to get the latest manual?

CAUTION

  • Since the polished-finish side surfaces are slick, hold the speaker from the sides and bottom to carry it.
  • When placing the speaker on the speaker stand, etc., be sure not to pinch your hands or fingers.

NOTICE

  • Be sure not to touch the diaphragms on the front. Otherwise, they may be damaged.
  • This unit is designed with a non-magnetic shield. Placing this unit too close to a CRT TV set might impair picture color or create a buzzing noise. In this case, move the speakers away from the TV.

NOTE

- The particular type of rubber used for the woofer surround was carefully chosen to contribute to the best sound quality. In rare cases, this rubber may turn an off-white color. Do not worry about this whitening, since it is only a component of the rubber penetrating to the surface, and will not adversely affect performance.

For example, if sine waves from a test disc, bass sounds from electronic instruments, etc., are continuously output, or when the stylus of a turntable touches the surface of a disc, reduce the volume level to prevent the speaker from being damaged.

NOTE

  • When using an amplifier with a rated output power higher than the nominal input power of the speaker, care should be taken never to exceed the speaker's maximum input.
  • Please refer to the owner's manual that came with your amplifier or receiver.
