Charging procedure
1) Always check before charging the battery if the indicated rated output voltage of the charger matches the battery voltage. Also check if the charger input voltage matches the power supply voltage.
2) When you need to charge the battery, place the charger at a ventilated location and connect the charger to the charging port, then connect the charger to the power supply. Check if the wire plug is correctly connected to the power supply.
3) The charger indicator turns green, indicating that the battery is completely charged. If the battery is completely discharged it can take 3-4 hours (max. 6 hours) to recharge the battery completely.
4) After charging the battery, first disconnect the plug from the power supply, then you disconnect the charger from the charger port. Warning: never leave the charger connected to the power supply if it is not charging.
Battery maintenance:
Do not overcharge the lithium battery, immediately disconnect the charger from the power supply as soon as the indicator turns green.
1) Do not place anything on the battery or charger while charging, this may cause the charger or battery to overheat, risking severe material and personal damages. Always use the original charger, not doing so, will render the warranty null and void.
2) You can charge the battery as soon as it runs low, otherwise it will reduce its performance and lifespan. By using the battery in a correct way, it will have a capacity of at least 80%. However, eventually the battery performance will reduce and will need to be replaced.
3) To extend its lifespan keep the battery stored in a dry and cool place at a temperature between -10^ - 20^ , avoiding direct sunlight. Charge the battery every 30 days, when you are not using it for a longer period.
4) Do not short circuit the battery on purpose, this will cause severe material and personal damage. All damages caused by misuse will render the warranty null and void.
5) Do not throw away the battery with normal household rubbish. Take it to your council waste disposal service to be recycled.
6) If you have any further questions about the use, maintenance, storage or disposal of the battery, please contact our customer service.
MAINTENANCE
1) Make sure the front and rear wheel are in the middle of the fork (front wheel) and frame (rear wheel). The wheel must have an even spoke tension, otherwise it will cause a misbalance making your bike to wobble. If there is a problem with the spokes, contact our customer service center.
2) The bike rim should be smooth and clean, otherwise it can hinder riding your bike.
3) The Bohlt R140 electric bike is equipped with a high quality chain, keep it clean and lubricated regularly.
4) Before riding your bike, check if the brake pads are in good working order.
5) Avoid riding your bike under rainy, snowy and wet conditions. If you really need to ride in these conditions be aware keeping more following distance, as you will need more distance for sudden stops. Always keep a moderate speed.
6) Check the tires regularly for cracks, damage and normal wear and tear. Make sure the inner tire and air faucet are well placed on the bike rim. Please contact our customer service center if you have any questions about maintenance of your electric bike.
