2. Safety instructions
- All repairs of electrical components must only be carried out by an authorized repairer. Unauthorized repairs will render the warranty null and void. This can also pose a serious hazard for the user.
- Only use the Bastard RDW for which it is designed. Failing to do so? This could result in damage to the device, other property damage, serious physical injuries and even death.
- This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children.
- Do not expose the battery to heat sources, such as direct sunlight or open fire.
- You need to have a valid driving (moped) license when driving the scooter.
- Motor, display incl. control unit, battery, speed sensor, accessories and packaging must be recycled environmentally friendly. Do not put an electric scooter or its components into your domestic waste!
- Do not open the drive system yourself. The drive system is maintenance-free and should only be repaired with original spare parts and by qualified personnel.
- You should observe all national requirements for the admission and the use of the Bastard RDW.
3. Security during driving
- As soon as you will drive on the Bastard RDW, you must always wear protective gear. Meaning clothing with long sleeves and a long trousers and suitable shoes. Always use sturdy footwear and pay attention the laces don't become tangled in the wheels, motor or other moving components. Never drive barefoot, with open sandals or flip-flops and always wear an (approved) helmet even though it is not required for the 25 km version
- Always drive according to local traffic laws otherwise you could endanger yourself or others. Never drive on unsafe roads.
• Always use the turn signal when turning or changing lane. - Ensure your own safety and the safety of others by driving at a moderate speed.
- Firstly get used to all functions of the Bastard RDW such as accelerating, slowing down, keeping your balance and the complete control of the Bastard RDW. We would advise you to practice first on a flat surface in a quiet environment.
- Never try to perform dangerous or hazardous actions, such as driving with one hand or free-styling, etc. Never drive if you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication.
- Never turn off the power abruptly, while driving.
- Always check the brake sensitivity, before every ride. If you experience problems with the brakes, do not drive but resolve the problem or contact an authorized repairing company
- Never overload the Bastard RDW, this can be dangerous. The maximum weight capacity is 175kg.
4. Use of the Bastard RDW
- Always sit up straight and in the middle of the saddle so yo can keep your balance. Do not lean too far backwards, this could cause the steering wheel to vibrate.
• If the road conditions are bad, like with gravel, etc. please reduce your speed. - If the weather conditions are bad, for example with rain or snow? Then you must be extra careful.
- Drive never in the upright position.
5. Instructions operation
- Put the key in the ignition and turn it clockwise to activate the power and headlight. Never remove the key from the ignition while you are still driving. Wait until the Bastard RDW has come to a complete stop before removing the key.
• As soon as the display illumination turns blue, the Bastard RDW is ready for use. - Turn the hand-grip gently towards you to accelerate. Always turn the hand-grip gently and never abruptly. If you want to reduce the speed, gently turn the hand-grip away from you and use the brake. As soon as you have come to a complete stop, the lever will return into its original position.
- With the red button next to the hand-grip, you can adjust your speed.
- Would you like to use the horn? You can do so, by pressing the green button with the horn symbol.
• The stand should be folded before you start your trip.

7. How to park
A. If you want park the Bastard RDW, always keep account with other vehicles and pedestrians. Park on a flat surface and never on a slope.
B. As soon as the Bastard RDW has been parked turn the key and remove it. Always secure your Bastard RDW with a lock.
8. Use of the brakes
- Adjust Brakes:
As soon as you feel that the braking lever feels a bit loose, squeeze it firmly a couple of times. This could re give the brake handle its elasticity.
When the brake fluid indicator lights up, contact our service center (see Bohlt.nl) or an authorized mechanic who can change the brake fluid.
- Replace brake disc:
As soon as you feel the brake doesn't function properly, you must contact our service center (to see Bohlt.nl) or an authorized mechanic to replace the brake disc or the brake plate.
• Period of accustomization:
The disk brake has a certain accustomization period. We advise you not to squeeze the brake too firmly, this can damage the brake pads and/or brake plate. Always use the brake gradually to come to a complete stop. During the first week when using the Bastard RDW and its brake you can hear some sounds, this is normal.
Attention:
- Never use any lubricants near the brake disc, brake pads or brake caliper. Never touch the brake pads, this could reduce the braking performance.
- An hydraulic disk brake has a powerful braking performance. Before you use the Bastard RDW we recommend you to practice braking several times in quiet environment. Hydraulic disk brakes are considerably different from ordinary disk brakes and require some practice. When braking too abruptly you could damage something or hurt yourself.
9. The Battery
Charging:
- Firstly, connect the battery to the charger and then connect the charger to your power supply. The LED indicator will light up red to indicate that charging has started. Once the LED indicator turns green, the charging is completed. After charging you first remove the plug from the power supply and then you remove the connection from the charger of the battery. Never do this in the reversed order.
- Always keep the battery and charger during charging in a fresh and stable environment. The performance capacity of the battery varies between 0-45°C. Never cover the battery and charger during charging. If the temperature is during charging becomes too high, the LED indicator rood will blink. The charger will now go a security mode. remove the charger from the environment and let it cool down in a fresh and ventilated place. As soon as the charger reaches a temperature of below 45°C you can resume charging.
Battery status indicator:
Turn on the power supply, at the bottom of the display appear six bars to indicate the battery is completely charged. As soon as only two bars are visible, you must charge the battery.
Attention:
• Only use the charger indoors.
- Never charge in a small space, direct sunlight or in an environment with a high temperature.
- You are not charging? Never leave the plug in the mains supply.
• Stopper charging the battery if:
o the battery or charger emit an unpleasant smell,
- becomes overheated,
- the LED indicator reacts strangely.
immediately stop charging and contact our service center.
- Never remove any components of the charger and do not modify them.
- Never charge faulty batteries and only use original batteries
- Never use the charger in an environment with inflammable substances. This can cause fire or explosions.
- Keep the charger away from water and don't let it become wet. This can cause a fire or you could get an electric shock.
- Never touch any internal components with bare hands, you can get an electric shock.
Use of the battery and warnings:
- Always use the original charger. Use of a different battery or charger can damage the battery or reduce its lifespan.
- If the battery is completely empty 95% of its capacity can be charged in a minimum of 5 hours, a full charge the battery can take up to 8 hours.
- The capacity of the battery in first use is 80%, a full charge can take up to 5-8 hours.
- If you don't use the Bastard RDW for a month, the capacity will diminish with 5%. You need to charge the scooter before use.
- Charge the battery in time, to prevent the Bastard RDW to stop under-way.
- It is normal the charger becomes warm during charging, be aware the charger does not exceed 60^ C.
- Never let children come in the vicinity of the charger.
- Is the battery deformed or overheated? Stop charging immediately and contact our service center.
- In case of a fire of the battery, never use water to extinguish, cover it with sand, foam extinguisher or a cloth soaked in water.
- The battery must be recycled in a responsible manner, please consult your local agency.
- When damage arises there in the electric circuit, the battery can perform differently. The battery will stop giving power and after approximately 10 seconds to reinstate itself. This does not affect the driving.
- The operation temperature of the battery varies from -10^ till 50^ . At low temperatures the capacity of the battery can diminish, this is normal.
Storage
- If you do not use the Bastard RDW during a longer period (longer than a month), we recommend you to charge the battery between the 60-80%. To ensure a charged battery you need to charge it every three months.
• Store the battery in a cool dry place. - Never expose the battery to heat and/or fire.
- Opening or adjusting the battery will render the warranty null and void.
10. Maintenance
• Always check before every ride your Bastard RDW completely.
- Check if components don't function properly which can affect the driving.
- Check if the brakes work well.
- Check the tires for irregularities or wear and tear.
- Check the tyre pressure, the front and back tire must normally be 1.5bar/cm2.
- Check if the battery has been fully charged.
- Check the wheel system for correct movement, friction or other irregularities. In case of problems you must contact our service center.
- Check if the bearings are not too loose.
11. Troubleshooting
