How to assemble the cleaner?

Slide the handle (13) onto the grip bar (12) until it clicks, then screw the supplied screw into the back of the handle using a Phillips screwdriver. Finally, insert the clean water tank (5) until it clicks audibly.

Can I use a different cleaning product than the one supplied?

Yes, you can use special carpet cleaning products intended for carpet cleaners. Avoid highly foaming products as foam could hinder operation.

How to fill the clean water tank?

Lift the unlocking button (4) to remove the tank, unscrew the closing nut, remove the valve, fill with hot water (max. 40°C) up to the MAX mark (2.5 L), replace the valve and nut, then reinsert the tank into the appliance.

What to do if the appliance no longer sucks?

Check that the dirty water tank is not full (MAX mark), that the filters are not clogged, and that the tanks are correctly locked in place. Clean the filters if necessary.

How often should I clean the filters?

After each use, rinse the air outlet filter and the motor protection filter with hot water. Let them air dry, never in a washing machine or with a hairdryer.

Can I clean wooden floors with this appliance?

No, the appliance is designed for carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, tiles, stone and PVC. Do not use on solid wood parquet or moisture-sensitive floors without protection.

How to empty the dirty water tank?

Lift the handle of the dirty water tank (11) to remove it, open the locking device on the back by turning counterclockwise, empty the water, rinse the tank with hot water.

What to do if a stain persists?

Treat the stain specifically with a suitable carpet cleaning product. If it is very stubborn or old, repeat the pass over the affected area.

Can the appliance be used without water?

No, never operate the appliance without water. The clean water tank must always contain at least some water with the cleaning solution.

How to store the appliance after use?

Empty and rinse both water tanks, clean the filters, dry everything. Store the appliance in a cool and dry place, away from sunlight and out of reach of children and animals.

Intended Use

• The device is designed to be used for removing light levels of dirt on carpets and upholstered furniture and for freshening up carpets and upholstered furniture. It is not a substitute for a conventional vacuum cleaner. Before using the device, the carpet or upholstered furniture which is to be treated must be thoroughly cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.
• The device is also suitable for use on tiles, stone floors and PVC.

On no account should the device be used to suck up the following:

• glowing ash, cigarette ends, matches, etc.
• i n fl ammable or explosive substances

• very fine dust (e.g. concrete dust), toner or sand
  pointed, hard objects such as pieces of broken glass

• The device is designed for personal use only and is not intended for commercial applications.

• The device should only be used as described in the operating instructions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.
• The warranty does not cover faults caused by incorrect handling, damage, calcification or repair attempts. This also applies to the normal wear and tear of the individual components.

Safety Notices

This device may be used by children aged 8 and over and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or have received instruction on how to use the device safely and have understood the dangers resulting from failure to comply with the relevant safety precautions.
Children must not play with the device.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children.
Children younger than 8 years of age and animals must be kept away from the device and the connecting cable! Improper use can lead to injuries and electric shock.
- The device must always be disconnected from the mains when it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling, filling or emptying the water containers or cleaning it.
- Do not make any modifications to the device. If the device or the connecting cable of the device are damaged, they must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service department or a specialist workshop in order to avoid any hazards.

DANGER - Risk of Electric Shock!

Use and store only in closed rooms.
Do not use the device in rooms with high humidity.

• Never immerse the basic unit and connecting cable in water or other liquids. Ensure that the basic unit and the connecting cable cannot fall into water or become wet.
  Should the device fall into water, switch off the power supply immediately. Do not attempt to pull the device out of the water while it is still connected to the mains power!
• Never touch the device and the connecting cable with wet hands when these components are connected to the mains power.

WARNING - Danger of Injury!

Danger of suffocation! Keep children and animals away from the packaging material.
Danger of strangulation! Make sure that the connecting cable is always kept out of the reach of small children and animals.
Danger of tripping! Make sure that the connecting cable does not represent a tripping hazard.

WARNING - Danger of Fire!

• Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable substances or poisonous and explosive fumes.
  Do not use the device in the vicinity of highly flammable materials.
• Do not cover the device during operation in order to prevent it from catching fire. Do not insert anything into the openings of the device and make sure that these do not become clogged.

NOTICE - Risk of Damage to Material and Property

• Only connect the device to a plug socket with safety contacts that is properly installed and matches the specifications on the rating plate of the device. The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated.
  In the event of a thunderstorm or damage / faults (e.g. unusual noises, odour or smoke development), switch the device off and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket. Have the device checked by an expert before it is used again.
  The device should only be used if it is in full working order and has been completely assembled. The fresh water and dirty water containers and both filters (exhaust air filter and motor protection filter) must be inserted.
• Do not use any sharp or pointed objects to remove foreign bodies from the device. These could damage the device.
  Use only original spare parts from the manufacturer in order to guarantee that there is no interference that may prevent the device from working and to avoid damage.
  Never fill the water containers beyond the maximum fill level.

Make sure that the connecting cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot surfaces. Do not wrap the connecting cable around the device (danger of the cable breaking).
The device must be switched off when inserting or removing the mains plug. Always pull the mains plug and never the mains cable to disconnect the device from the mains power.
Never pull or carry the device by the connecting cable.
- Protect the device from heat, naked flames, direct sunlight, sub-zero temperatures and collisions. The basic unit should also be protected from persistent moisture and wet conditions.
Do not place any heavy objects on the device, the connecting cable or accessories.

Assembling the Device

A cross-head screwdriver is required for assembly.

1. Plug the handle (13) onto the handle pole (12) (Picture A). The handle engages in the correct position.
2. Screw one of the screws that is supplied with the device into the thread on the back of the handle and use a cross-head screwdriver to tighten it (Picture B).
3. Insert the fresh water container (5) into the back of the basic unit (Picture C). It must click into place audibly.

The carpet cleaner is now assembled.

Preparing the Device

Preparing the Carpet

1. Vacuum the carpet or upholstered furniture which is to be cleaned thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner. To do this, use a brush attachment if possible.
2. Remove all furniture from the carpet if possible. In the case of large items of furniture which cannot be moved to one side, place plastic film below or around the feet and only remove it once the carpet has completely dried after it has been cleaned. The feet could be damaged by the moisture from the carpet.
3. Check the colourfastness of the carpet or upholstered furniture. Soak a piece of white fabric with the cleaning solution supplied (see "Filling the Fresh Water Container") and rub it carefully on an inconspicuous spot on the carpet. If the white fabric does not become discoloured, the carpet or upholstered furniture can be cleaned with the device. In the case of carpets or upholstered furniture with several colours, test the fastness of each colour.

Filling the Fresh Water Container

PLEASE NOTE!

Never operate the device without water.
- Only ever pour the cleaning agent supplied with the device or standard carpet cleaning products for carpet cleaners into the fresh water container.
- Do not use any cleaning products that produce a lot of foam as excessive foaming impedes the functioning of the device.

1. Pull up the release button (4) on the fresh water container (5) and take it out (Picture D).
2. Undo the lock nut on the bottom of the fresh water container and pull out the valve (Picture E).
3. Fill the fresh water container with warm water (max. 2.5 l at max. 40^ ) (Picture F). The MAX marking must not be exceeded when the fresh water container is inserted.
4. Reinsert the valve and seal the fresh water container shut with the lock nut. 1
5. Insert the fresh water container into the back of the basic unit (Picture C). It must click into place audibly.

Use

PLEASE NOTE!

Do not use the device like a conventional vacuum cleaner.
Make sure that the device does not tip over. The water from the water containers could leak out.
After use, place the device down on a cloth as residual water may escape from the nozzles after it has been switched off.
Do not wet the carpet excessively.

1. Decide where cleaning will start where you will stop without treading on the section of carpet that has just been cleaned. We recommend that right-handed people should start at the right-hand edge of the carpet, and left-handed people should start at the left-hand edge of the carpet.
2. Turn the hooks for winding up the cable (3) towards each other (Picture G) and fully unwind the connecting cable.
3. Clamp the mains cable into the cable mount (2) and plug the mains plug into an easily accessible plug socket.
4. Press the On / Off switch (6) once to switch on the device.
5. Step on the pedal (7) (Picture H) and tilt the handle backwards into a comfortable position.
6. Roll the device to a corner of the carpet.

7. Slide the device forwards along the edge of the carpet and hold down the button for dispensing the cleaning solution (1). This applies the solution to the carpet and brushes it in. Walk to the side of the device as you do this. Do not tread on the wet carpet! Once you have reached the other end of the carpet, let go of the button.

8. Pull the device backwards along the same strip. The dirty water will be sucked up.

9. Start the next strip slightly overlapping the strip of carpet that has just been cleaned. Work up to the other edge of the carpet with even movements forwards and backwards. If you find more stubborn patches of dirt, go over a strip several times if necessary.
10. If the dirty water container (9) is full up to the MAX marking, it must be emptied (see the "Cleaning and Storage" chapter).
11. When the dirty water container is to be emptied, the fresh water container topped up or the cleaning process finished, switch off the device by pressing the On / Off switch again.
12. Place the device on the towel or cloth provided and move the handle forwards into an upright position. It must click into place audibly.
13. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket.

After Use

• Empty both water containers after every use.
• Allow the freshly cleaned surfaces to dry completely.
• If possible, do not tread on the carpet while it is still damp. If it has to be trodden on, put down white or colourfast towels and tread on them.
  If cleaning solution has got onto wooden floors or furniture, wipe it away.
  Vacuum the dry carpet with a vacuum cleaner. To do this, use a brush attachment if possible.

Cleaning and Storage

PLEASE NOTE!

The filters must not be cleaned in the washing machine.
Only ever dry the filters in the air, and never use a hair dryer to do so.
- Do not use any chemical cleaning agents to clean the device. These may damage the device.

1. Flip up the handle (11) on the dirty water container (9) and pull it up out of the basic unit (Picture I).
2. The catch is located on the back of the dirty water container. Twist it 90^ anticlockwise to open it (Picture J).
3. Pour away the dirty water and rinse out the dirty water container thoroughly with warm water.
4. The exhaust air filter (10) is located in the housing of the dirty water container. Press the locking catch and pull out the filter holder (Picture K).
5. Remove the exhaust air filter from the holder and rinse it with warm water.
6. Take the motor protection filter out of the basic unit and rinse it with warm water (Picture L).

7. Pour away the rest of the cleaning solution from the fresh water container and rinse it thoroughly with warm water.

8. Store the device in a cool, dry place which is protected from direct sunlight and is out of the reach of children and animals.

Troubleshooting

If the device does not work properly, check whether you are able to rectify the problem yourself. If the problem cannot be solved with the steps below, contact the customer service department.

Do not attempt to repair an electrical device yourself!
