  • This device smoothes fabrics using steam. In addition, it is suitable for removing fl uff and unpleasant odours from clothing, upholstery, cushions, curtains, etc.
  • The device is not suitable for removing marks or stains.
  • The device is for private domestic use only and is not intended for commercial ap- plications.
  • The device should only be used as described in these instructions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.
  • The warranty does not cover faults caused by incorrect handling, damage, calcifi ca- tion or repair attempts. This also applies to normal wear and tear. Safety Instructions ■ This device may be used by children aged 8 and over and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or have received instruction on how to use the device safely and have understood the dangers resulting from failure to comply with the relevant safety precautions. ■ Children must not play with the device. ■ Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried out by chil- dren without supervision. Warning of hot steam! This device works with hot steam! Operate the device with caution. ■ The device must always be switched off and disconnected from the mains power when it is not being used and before assem- bling, disassembling, fi lling or emptying the water reservoir or cleaning the device. ■ The device must not be used if it has been dropped, if it has vis- ible signs of damage or leaks. ■ If the mains cable of this device is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or customer service department or a simi- larly qualifi ed person in order to avoid any hazards. DANGER – Danger of Electric Shock ■ Use the device only in closed rooms. ■ Do not use the device in rooms with high humidity. ■ Never immerse the device, mains cable or mains plug in water or other liquids and ensure that they cannot fall into water or become wet.EN 14 ■ Should the device fall into water or should liquid get into it (apart from the water res- ervoir), switch off the power supply immediately. Never attempt to pull the device out of the water while it is still connected to the mains power! Have the device checked in a specialist workshop before using it again. ■ Never touch the device, mains cable or mains plug with wet hands when these com- ponents are connected to the mains power. ■ Never exceed the maximum fi ll level to prevent overfl owing (note the max marking on the water reservoir!). ■ Never direct the steam directly at mains cables or parts containing electrical com- ponents (such as inside ovens, fridges, at switches and lights, microwave ovens). WARNING – Danger of Fire ■ Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and explosive fumes. ■ Do not connect the device along with other consumers (with a high wattage) to a multiple socket in order to prevent overloading and a possible short circuit (fi re). ■ Do not operate the device in the vicinity of combustible material. ■ Always place the device upright on its base even during short pauses. Pull out the mains plug during lengthy breaks. ■ Immediately after smoothing, place the still hot device down a minimum distance of 15 cm away from walls, furniture and other objects. WARNING – Danger of Injury ■ Danger of suffocation from plastic fi lms and bags! Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. CAUTION: hot surfaces! The steam bottom of the device and the attachment used may become hot during use. You should therefore only hold the device by the handle when you are operating it. Do not touch the steam bottom or the attachment used during or shortly after use. Danger of scalding from heat, hot steam and condensation! ■ Never attempt to smooth clothes while somebody is wearing them. ■ Never aim the steam directly at people, animals or plants. ■ The water reservoir cap must not be opened during use. ■ The device must be placed down on a stable surface. Do not turn the hot device upside down or place it on its side. Hot water could escape. ■ Allow the device to cool down completely before the water reservoir is emptied and / or the device is cleaned and stored away. ■ Danger of strangulation! Make sure that the mains cable is always kept out of the reach of small children and animals. ■ Danger of tripping! The connected mains cable must not present a trip hazard. ■ Do not leave the mains cable unattended while hanging down from the ironing board, table or other surface if there are children or animals in its vicinity. Otherwise they might use the cable to pull the device down on themselves.15 EN NOTICE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property ■ The device should only be connected to a properly installed socket with safety con- tacts. The socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that the con- nection to the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must match the technical data of the device. ■ Do not use the device with an extension cable. ■ Do not iron over zips, studs, clips etc. to prevent any scratching of the steam bottom. ■ Never use in front of surfaces made from glass or plastic. ■ Never cover up the steam nozzles and do not insert any objects into them. ■ Only activate the steam release button when the water reservoir is fi lled with water as otherwise the water pump may be damaged and the useful service life of the device may be shortened. ■ Protect the device from heat, naked fl ames, extreme temperatures, persistent mois- ture, wet conditions and collisions. ■ Always test the device fi rst on a small, inconspicuous spot on the clothing. ■ Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot surfaces. ■ Switch off the device and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket if an error occurs during operation or before a thunderstorm. ■ Never wind the mains cable around the device. ■ Never pull or carry the device by the mains cable. When you pull it out of the plug socket, always pull on the mains plug and never the mains cable! ■ Use only original spare parts from the manufacturer. Items Supplied

  • The brush attachment (6) is suitable for freshening up home textiles such as uphol- stery, curtains etc.
  • With the crease attachment (7) you can iron creases (e. g. into trousers and skirts). Also it is suitable for smoothing clothing (e.g. made from linen, cotton, polyester and silk). Before Initial Use Remove any fi lms or stickers that may be present from the device and accessories. Never remove the rating plate and any possible warnings! Note: Water residues in the reservoir can be attributed to quality checks per- formed prior to delivery. Mounting / Removing Attachments NOTE! ■ Shortly after use, the attachment used may still be very hot. Wait until the device and the attachment used have cooled down completely before removing them.
  • Attaching: Place the attachment with the locking lug at the top on the steam bottom and press it down fi rmly. The attachment must be heard to engage in place.
  • Removing: Pull the tab on the bottom of the attachment forwards and remove the attachment.17 EN Filling the Water Reservoir NOTE! ■ After use, the device may still be hot. Wait until the water reservoir has cooled com- pletely before fi lling / emptying it. ■ Pour no more than 250 ml (note the max marking) of water into the water reservoir. The device can be operated with both tap water and distilled water. However, if you use tap water, the device will need to be regularly descaled (see the "Clean- ing and Storage" chapter, "Descaling" section). If you use distilled water, there is no need to descale the device.

You may only perform vertical smoothing if the item of clothing is hanging on a hang- er and cannot come into contact with other garments, objects, people or animals. ■ CAUTION – Danger of scalding! Only use the device once the control lamp has gone out. Operating temperature has then been reached. If the device is used be- fore the control lamp has gone out, hot water may escape. ■ Before using the device, read the care instructions for the fabric which is to be smoothed. Some fabrics, leather and suede as well as fabrics with fl ounces, sequins and appliqués must not be steamed!

1. Mount the attachment you want (see the “Mounting / Removing Attachments” chapter).

2. Pour water into the water reservoir (5) (see the “Filling the Water Reservoir” chapter).

3. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed plug socket that is easily accessible.

Slowly pull down the item of clothing and press the steam release button at regular intervals as you do so. However, do not keep the steam release button held down constantly! If the control lamp lights up during use, the device is reheating. Do not press the steam release button during the heating process in order not to slow this down and to prevent a danger of scalding from hot water which may escape. Wait until the control lamp goes out again.

7. If steam stops being produced, the water reservoir is empty. Allow the device to cool

down for a few minutes and then top up the water reservoir again (see the “Filling the Water Reservoir” chapter). Never use the device without water to prevent damage to the device! Tips on Use

  • Delicate items of clothing should be steamed inside out.
  • Trousers are easier to smooth if they are hung up by the trouser legs.
  • Do not hold down the steam release button (2) continuously during use. This reduc- es the steam pressure. Cleaning and Storage NOTE! ■ Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or any metal objects to clean the device. These can damage the surface.

4. Empty the water reservoir (5): To do this, pull the water reservoir cap (4) out of the

water reservoir, hold the device over a sink or similar outlet and turn it upside down. Allow all of the water to run out of the water reservoir.

order to allow any remaining amounts of water to evaporate.19 EN

then dry it with a soft cloth.

8. Store the device in a clean, dry place that is protected from sunlight and is not ac-

cessible to children and animals. Descaling Descale the device regularly if distilled water is not being used to fi ll the water reservoir (5). Use a standard commercial descaling agent to descale the device. Make sure that the descaling agent is suitable for steam devices. Note the instructions for use of the des- caling agent for details about the mixing ratio of water and descaling agent and about the length of use. Troubleshooting If the device does not work properly, fi rst check whether you are able to rectify the problem yourself. If the problem cannot be solved with the steps that are listed, contact the customer service department. Do not attempt to repair a electrical device yourself! Problem Possible cause / solution The device does not work. The con- trol lamp (1) does not light up.

  • Is the mains plug inserted in the plug socket correctly? Cor- rect the fi t of the mains plug.
  • Is the plug socket defective? Try another plug socket.
  • Check the fuse of the mains connection. Water emerges from the steam bottom (8).
  • The temperature has fallen below the operating tempera- ture. Wait until the control lamp goes out before pressing the steam release button (2). No steam is pro- duced.
  • Is the water reservoir (5) empty? Top it up.
