NOTICE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property ■ Only connect the device to a plug socket that is properly installed and matches the technical data of the device. The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated. ■ Make sure that the connecting cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot surfaces (this also applies to the hot surfaces of the device!). ■ Only use heat-resistant utensils to place and remove the food. Keep metal objects or other sharp objects away from the device. These objects could damage the non-stick coating of the grill plates. We recommend the use of heat-resistant kitchen utensils made from wood or plastic. ■ Switch off the device and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket if an error occurs during operation, when there is a power cut or before a thunderstorm. ■ Never pull or carry the device by the connecting cable. ■ When you pull the mains plug out of the plug socket, always pull on the mains plug and never the mains cable! ■ Protect the device from other heat sources, naked fl ames, sub-zero tem- peratures, persistent moisture, wet conditions and impacts. ■ Use only original accessories from the manufacturer in order to guarantee that there is no interference that may prevent the device from working and to avoid possible damage.

To do this, follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and Storage”, “Setting Up the Device” and “Use” chapters.
When the device is fi rst used, production-related additives (e.g. grease) may cause a small amount of smoke and / or an odour to be produced. This is normal and not a device defect.
SETTING UP THE DEVICE
Please Note! ■ Do not place the device below kitch- en wall units or similar cupboards. The rising steam could cause damage to them! ■ The device may only be operated in a horizontal position, never on its side or tilted.
1. Always set up the closed device with
a clear space at the sides (at least 20 cm) and clear space above it (at least 30cm) on a fl at, solid and heat-re- sistant surface that is resistant to fat splashing.
2. Insert the grill plates (4 and 9) into
the device: To do this, place one grill plate at a slight angle with the recess- es into the locking lugs (3 and 8) on the device and press down. The grill plate must engage audibly (Picture C).
3. Insert the fat collecting tray (6) into
FUNCTIONS Switch On / Off and Start / Stop The device is switched on or off via the fi eld (21). The preheating / grilling process is start- ed or stopped via the fi eld (15).
The grilling process cannot be paused! If it is ended via the fi eld , it has to be completely restarted. Preheating The device automatically preheats fi rst on each mode (apart from manual mode), which is indicated by the fi eld (20) fl ashing. The device has only reached the desired temperature for the selected mode once you hear 4 short and 1 long beep. Preset Modes The device has 6 preset modes (13, 18 and 19) on which the temperature is set automatically. ideal for burgers ideal for grilled chicken, chicken breast fi llets or similar ideal for sandwiches, baguettes or similar ideal for all kinds of sausages ideal for all kinds of meat ideal for all types of fi sh that can be grilled
In Meat and Fish modes, the degree of cooking you want must also be chosen before start- ing the grilling process. Manual Mode The device also offers the option of set- ting a manual mode via the fi eld (14) in order, for example, to grill desserts, vegetables or something else. In this mode, the preheating phase does not take place and the device heats up from room temperature to max. 200°C. Degree of Cooking The degree of cooking that you want in modes (19) and (18) must be chosen after fi nishing the preheating via the select degree of cooking fi elds (16): rare – medium – well – well done.
Please bear in mind: This cate- gorisation relates to a steak that is approx. 4 cm thick (300g) (Picture D). The particular degree of cook- ing is always dependent on the type, quality, origin and thickness of the chosen food (see also the “Tips and Tricks” chapter). You need to make an adjustment for the individual food and check the cooked result! Defrosting To defrost food, you can select the “De- frost” function via the fi eld (12). In this case, the temperature in the device increases slowly from room temperature to no more than 250°C – this ensures that the food defrosts gently. LED Colour Countdown The LED colour countdown (17) indicates the progress of the grilling process: green approx. 0 – 25% yellow approx. 25 – 50% orange approx. 50 – 75% red approx. 75 – 100% 09550_Inlay_DE-EN-FR-NL_A5.indd 1509550_Inlay_DE-EN-FR-NL_A5.indd 15 02.06.2020 15:23:1402.06.2020 15:23:14EN
USE Please Note! ■ The device must not be left unattend- ed during operation! ■ In the interest of your own safety, inspect the device and the connecting cable for damage each time before you use it. Use the device only if it is in working order.
Although the grill plates (4, 9) have a non-stick coating, we still recommend that you lightly grease them before fi rst use. Do not use any cooking spray as it can attack the non-stick coating!

and Fish modes, choose the degree of cooking you want via the select degree of cook- ing fi elds (16) (see the “Functions” chapter).
to start the grilling process. The fi eld and the fi eld for the selected food light up constantly and the LED colour countdown (17) switches on. The grilling process is fi nished when the LED colour countdown is red and you hear 4 short beeps and 1 long beep.
We recommend checking from time to time during the grilling process whether the food has already reached the degree of cooking you want.
11. Open the device and remove the
food. Please Note: Use only heat-resistant wooden or plastic utensils to remove the food.
12. After the device has been used,
- Not all meat or fi sh is the same. The fl avour is dependent on lots of different factors – the type, origin, fi shing method, rearing of the animal and so on ... The rule when grilling is therefore: Quality over quantity! As you also can and should enjoy grilled meat and grilled fi sh on its own or with just a few herbs and spices, it is well worth spending a bit more mon- ey when you make your choice.
- The grilled result is also dependent on the size and thickness of the meat or fi sh – here you should always have a look from time to time during the grilling process to see whether the chosen settings also perfectly suit this piece of meat or fi sh.
- When you are grilling round food- stuffs, such as sausages, corn on the cob etc., the grilling process usually takes a little longer owing to the small contact surface. We recommend turning the food 90° one or two times so that it is deliciously seared all the way round.
- If you are grilling several times in quick succession, we recommend giv- ing the grill plates a rough clean with a brush in between times to prevent any food from burning into them and also prevent too much smoke being produced.
- You should only season meat or fi sh after the grilling process so that the herbs or spices do not burn on the grill and thus alter the fl avour.
