How to replace the battery of my Casio SL-300VER?

Replace the battery when the display becomes dim. Use a LR54 (LR1130) button battery. Insert the battery with the ⊕ and ⊙ faces correctly oriented. After inserting the new battery, press the AC button (or twice on HL-820VER) to verify that the screen shows 0. Keep the battery out of reach of children. For replacement, contact a dealer or CASIO after-sales service.

How to set an Euro conversion rate?

Press the AC button (or twice on HL-820VER). Hold down the % button for about two seconds. The current rate is displayed. Enter the conversion rate (example: 1.95583 for DM). For rates ≥ 1, up to 6 digits; for rates < 1, up to 8 digits (6 significant). Press % to save.

What does the E indicator on the screen mean?

The E indicator signals a calculation error (e.g., division by zero or capacity overflow). Press the AC button (or twice on HL-820VER) to clear the error and continue, or press AC twice (or once on HL-820VER) to clear the entire calculation.

How to clear the independent memory?

To clear only the independent memory, press the MC button twice (or equivalent). On some models, press the specific key twice. The memory content is then erased, but the fixed conversion rate is retained.

How to perform a constant calculation?

Enter the number you want to use as a constant, then press the desired arithmetic operation key twice (+, -, ×, ÷). The K indicator lights up. Then enter other values to perform repeated calculations with the constant.

What is the battery life?

The battery life is approximately 3 years for one hour of use per day. The battery discharges slowly even in storage; it may need to be replaced earlier if the device has been kept for a long time.

Does the calculator turn off automatically?

Yes, the calculator has an automatic power off that activates about six minutes after the last key press. To turn it back on, press AC (or ON/CE). The contents of the independent memory are not erased.

How to clean the calculator?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the calculator. Never use chemicals or solvents. Avoid dropping the device or exposing it to strong shocks.

2/ Correcting Input Errors

To completely clear a value you have just input, press (C) (or (C) (HL-820VER)).
If you press the wrong arithmetic operation key (☑, ☐, ☑, ☳), simply press the correct
key before inputting anything else.

Clearing Calculations

To clear the calculator except for the independent memory, press AC (or SW) twice

Battery Replacement

Replace the battery when the display darkens. After replacement, press and confirm that "0" appears on the display.

• The battery that comes with this unit discharges slightly during shipment and storage.

The Two-Way Power System of this calculator uses a solar cell, in addition to one LR54 (LR1130) button type battery. Unlike calculators equipped with a solar cell only, you can use this calculator under virtually any lighting conditions, as long as there is enough light for you to read the display.

Battery Replacement

Do not try to replace the battery yourself. Have it replaced by an authorized CASIO dealer or service center.

If the display becomes dim and difficult to read, or if nothing appears on the display when you press (especially when lightning is dim), you probably need to have the battery replaced.
- A dead battery can leak and damage the calculator if left in the battery compartment for long periods. - The battery that comes with this unit discharges slightly during shipment and storage. Because of this, it may require replacement sooner than the normal expected battery life.

Auto Power Off Function

This calculator switches power off automatically about six minutes after the last key operation

is performed. To restore power, press AG (or GAG)
- When you press Ac (or Cg (HL-820VER)), the independent memory contents are not
cleared.

Setting a Conversion Rate

Example: To set the conversion rate for your local currency as 1 euro = 1.95583 DM (Deutsche marks).
