In this chapter you will receive important safety information regarding the handling of the appliance. This appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect usage can lead to personal injury and property damage.
Risks from electrical current

Contact with wires or components that are under voltage could be potentially fatal!
Pay heed to the following safety instructions to avoid risks from electrical current:
The electrical installation may only be carried out by an accredited electrician.
The appropriate standards are to be applied during assembly.
Switch the electrical circuit off prior to assembly / installation.
Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:
Before use check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not put into operation an appliance that is damaged. There will be the risk of a fatal electrical shock.
A broken protective screen must be replaced before further use. There is a risk of personal injury.
Repairs should only be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the Customer Service Department. Incompetent repairs can result in significant risks for the user. In addition, warranty claims become void.
To avoid possible risks, arrange for damaged cables or connectors to be exchanged by an authorised specialist or the Customer Service Department.
Maintain a sufficient distance from the illuminated area (at least 1m ), otherwise there is a risk of fire from the generated heat.
This appliance is suitable for mounting on ordinary flammable surfaces.
Defective components may only be replaced with original replacement parts. Only by using original replacement parts can it be guaranteed that the safety requirements are being complied with.
The electrical circuit must be switched off before the replacement of a bulb and before cleaning it. Otherwise, there will be the risk of a fatal electrical shock.
Only bulbs complying with the technical specifications may be used. Unsuitable bulbs may cause a short circuit and thereby damage the appliance permanently.
Replace defective bulbs immediately. Defective bulbs may cause a short circuit and thereby damage the appliance permanently.
NEVER use the light with a damaged cable. There will be the risk of a fatal electrical shock.
This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or defi ciences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

If the delivery is not complete or is damaged due to defective packaging or through transportation contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service). - The bulb is enclosed with the halogen floodlight in the as-delivered condition (separately packaged). For correct use of the bulb, please refer to the chapter entitled Changing the bulb.

Selecting the installation location
The appliance can be mounted indoors or in a covered outdoor area.
DANGER
- Maintain a sufficient distance from the illuminated area (at least 1m ), otherwise there is a risk of fire from the generated heat.
The motion detector 4 may be oriented at about 170^ horizontally and about 180^ vertically and has a detection range of max. 120^ .
The range is adjustable from about 5 - 12 m.
When selecting the installation location ensure there will be no adverse incidents registered in the coverage range, such as from roads or lights.
Assembly

DANGER
Risk of electrocution from electrical current!
The electrical installation may only be carried out by an accredited electrician.
The appropriate standards must be applied during fitting.
Switch the electrical circuit off prior to assembly / installation.

WARNING
- When drilling, take care not to damage any pipes/cables in the wall or ceiling.
- The supplied plugs are only suitable for a mounting on concrete or stone. Before starting the installation, please check your installation location carefully for its suitability for the plugs. If in doubt, call a professional.
NOTICE
For easier installation the bracket 5 can be unscrewed from the appliance.
Drill two holes with a diameter of 6mm and a depth of 30mm at a spacing of 52mm .
Insert a plug into each of the holes and screw the appliance with the bracket 5 to the ceiling or wall (see Fig Ceiling mounting/Wall mounting).

Electrical connection
WARNING
This appliance falls under Protection Class I.
The earth wire (green/yellow wire) must be connected to the point marked
Switch the electrical circuit off and secure it against unintentional reactivation.
Unscrew the four screws at the rear of the connection box and remove the cover.
First, pull a cable through the cable entry into the connection box and secure it to the available cable strain relief.
Connect the cable to the terminals, as shown in the connection diagram.
Replace the cover of the connection box and screw it down firmly.
Now switch the power supply back on.

Adjustment of the motion detector
The adjustment of the range, the twilight level, and the illumination time is made with the rotary switches on the motion detector 4.
Twilight level (LUX 1)
Adjustment of the brightness level below which the motion detector 4 will activate.
The brightness sensor is adjustable from 5 Lux to 2000 Lux
Illumination time (TIME 2)
Adjustment of the illumination time from 7 seconds to 12 minutes. If the appliance is switched on and it registers a new movement, the illumination time is extended by the set value.
NOTICE
We recommend setting the illumination time to the maximum, so as to achieve the longest service life for the bulb 8.
Range (SENS 3)
Setting the range of motion detector 4 to between 5 - 12m
Finally, set the motion detecto4 according to your requirement.
Fix the position of the motion detecto 4 with the locking screw 10.
Changing the bulb
The supplied bulb 8 is excluded from the warranty. Please use only bulbs 8 as specified in the Technical Data.
Switch the electrical circuit off and secure it against being inadvertently switched back on.
Loosen the screw on the front panel.
Fold the front panel with the protective scree to the front.
Change the bull. Do not touch the bulb with your bare hands, use a dust-free soft cloth.
Close the front panel, ensuring that the sealing gasket is properly seated and clean.
Firmly screw the front panel back down.
Switch the electrical circuit back on and check the functioning.
Cleaning

DANGER
Risk of potentially fatal electrical shock!
Replace the bulb only when the mains voltage is switched off.
TAKE NOTE
Possible damage to the appliance.
Ensure that moisture cannot permeate into the appliance during cleaning.
- Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, as these can damage the upper surfaces.
Clean the housing exclusively with a soft damp cloth and a mild dishwashing liquid.
Disposal

DO NOT dispose of the appliance and/or the bulb in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the European Directive 2002/96/EC (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the appliance and/or the bulb via an approved waste disposal company or your communal waste disposal centre. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.

You receive a 3-year warranty for this appliance as of the purchase date. This appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty claim, please make contact by telephone with our service department. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
NOTICE
The warranty covers only claims for material and manufacturing defects, but not for transport damages, wearing parts or for damage to fragile components, e.g. bulbs or switches.
This product is for private use only and is not intended for commercial applications. In the event of misuse and improper handling, use of force and interference not carried out by our authorized service branch, the warranty will become void.
Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.
The warranty period is not extended by repairs effected under warranty. This applies also to replaced and repaired parts.
Damages or defects discovered after purchase are to be reported directly after unpacking, at the latest two days after the purchase date.
Repairs carried out after lapse of the warranty period are subject to charge.
