Caution! Danger of electric shock!

  • Never put the appliance, cord or plug into water or any other liquid.
  • Do not use the appliance near a sink or wash basin.
  • Do not use the appliance with wet hands.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors. An electric appliance is not a toy!

  • Never exceed the maximum filling level marking (M) inside the appliance to avoid any boiling water from spilling from the appliance. Danger of serious burns!
  • Never open the lid during operation.
  • To prevent the appliance from boiling dry, make sure the liquid level is never below minimum filling marking (O) inside the appliance
  • The appliance also features a boil-dry cut-out, which will switch off the appliance, should it accidentally be operated without liquid. In the event of such a safety cut-out switch off the appliance immediately, unplug it and let it cool down for approx. 10 minutes. Afterwards, your kettle is ready for use again.
  • Do not set the keep warm temperature at 110°C, the appliance will keep boiling the water.
  • When canning foods, -never use the appliance without the grid. -never place the canning jars directly on the bottom of the appliance.26

11. Power cord and plug

Temperature control (Thermostat) – Temperature setting from 30°C to 110°C (MAX.) – During operation, the integrated thermostat switches the appliance on and off to ensure a constant temperature. This is indicated by the red indicator light cycling on and off. Timer The appliance is only ready to be used once the timer is set. – Time setting from 20 to 120 minutes – Acoustic sound (DING) after set time has elapsed – ON/Cont. (continuous operation setting) Turn the timer knob in clockwise direction to set timer from 20-120mins turn the timer knob inanticlockwiseto ON/Continuous operation – At OFF position, turn the timer knob inclockwisedirection to set timer from 20-120mins – At OFF position, turn the timer knob inanticlockwiseto ON/Continuous operation. Temperature indicator light During the heating up process the red indicator light lights up, once the desired temperature is reached the red indicator lights goes off and switches into the keeping warm mode. Dry-boil cut-out Your appliance is equipped with a boil-dry cut-out, which will28 switch off the appliance automatically, should it accidentally be operated without water or by not observing the minimum water level. In the event of such a safety cut-out, switch off the appliance immediately, unplug it and let it cool down for approx. 10 minutes. Afterwards, your appliance is ready for use again. Before First Use

  • Remove all packaging material and check whether the appliance is complete and undamaged.
  • Do not use the appliance if it shows any signs of damage.
  • Clean the body, lid, grid and the inside of the appliance with a moistened soft cloth.
  • Completely unwind the power cord and make sure that the power cord is clamped into one of the the cable guides underneath the appliance.
  • Place the appliance on an even and heat resistant surface.
  • Due to hygienic reason, fill the tank with approx. 4 - 5 L of water and connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket. Boil the water for approx. 10 minutes by setting the thermostat to 100°C. Afterwards, allow the appliance to cool down.
  • Place a container underneath the tap and empty the water into it. NOTE: When using the appliance for the first time, a slight odour might occur. This doesn’t cause any harm nor does it mean that your appliance does not work properly. Make sure that the room is well ventilated! After this preheating process, your appliance is ready to be used.

Operation The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during operation. Therefore, do not touch the appliance during and/or immediately after operation. Canning / Preserving Foods The appliance is perfect for canning/preserving your favorite fruits and vegetables in order for you to enjoy them for a longer period of time. Preserving by cooking means the preservation of food without chemical preservatives. The heat generated kills the existing bacteria in the food contained. At the same time, the jar is sterilised and hermetically sealed by the resulting vacuum. You can place maximum up to 14 1 L canning jars on top of each other inside the appliance. Tip: Before starting the canning / preserving process – Prepare the fruits / vegetables you would like to can according to your recipe, make sure that they are ripe but not overly ripe. – Thouroughly clean / sterilize the canning jars and its lids. – Do not use damaged jars and lids. – Do not touch sterilized jars and their lids after being sterilised. – Fill jars up to 2 cm below the rim. When canning pulps (e.g apple puree) or ketchup fill the jars 3 to 4 cm below the rim. – Always firmly close the jars after filling them. – You can find information on different methods of preserving in various cook books as well as in educational literature.30

1. Place the appliance on an even and heat resistant surface.

2. Insert the canning grid (12).

3. Place the canning jars on top of the canning grid (12).

NOTE: Depending on their shape and height, canning jars should be submerged in water up to 2/3 to ¾ of their height.

4. Fill the appliance with the necessary amount of water

(see diagram underneath) Note: If jars are stacked on top of each other, the top jars must be ¾ submerged, lower level of jars will be completely submerged in water. Make sure that the lids are properly attached to the jars and closed.

5. Place the lid (1) onto the appliance.

6. Connect (11) the appliance to a properly installed wall

7. Choose the correct temperature setting (6) according to

your recipe. Note: The mentioned times in the table refer to the actual cooking time needed for the respective fruit or vegetable and which will only start after the heating process is finished resp when the indicator light goes off. The actual heating up time can take up to 90 minutes depending on the water / liquid content.Instruction Manual ENGLISH

8. Switch on the appliance by setting the timer (8) to Cont.

On. The indicator light (7) will illuminate and and the heating up time will start. - This can take up to 90 minutes depending on the water respectively liquid content - . During operation, the integrated thermostat switches the appliance on and off to ensure a constant temperature. This is indicated by the red indicator light cycling on and off.

9. Once the indicator light (7) goes off, the desired

temperature is reached.

  • After choosing the desired temperature (6), set the timer (8) to 60 Min or 90 Min depending on the water content.
  • The indicator light (7) will illuminate and the countdown and the heating up time will start.
  • Once the accousting sound (DING) can be heard and the appliance has shut off, follow steps 10 – 13.

10. Once the desired temperature is reached and the indicator

light is off, turn the timer (8) to the required canning / cooking time.

11. At the end of the canning time an acoustic sound (DING)

can be heard and the appliance will turn off.

12. After the canning / cooking process is finished

-set the temperature switch (6) and timer (8) to OFF position and disconnect (10) the appliance from the mains. -allow the content of the appliance to cool down for a while.32

13. Place a container underneath the tap (5) and press down

or push up the tap lever (4) to drain the liquid from the appliance. Do not drain the water completely, keep the bottom of the appliance covered with water until the appliance has completely cooled down. -When in upward position the tap lever (4) holds its position for continuous draining. Make sure to push it back into its original position. -

14. Carefully, take out the canning jars by using tongs or pot

Always follow the times mentioned in the respective recipe. Attention: After the preserving process the canning jars are very hot, risk of burns! Use tongs or pot holders when removing them. Store them in a cool, dark and dry place. Heating up liquids The device is ideally suited for heating up liquids such as water, punch, mulled wine etc.

1. Fill the tank with at least 4 - 5 L (O level/min level) of water

or other liquids (e.g. ready made mulled wine) but do not exceed the max level (M level). Always make sure not to exceed the max filling level (M) nor to undergo the min. water level (O). NOTE : Make sure that the appliance is not connected to the mains when filling it with liquids.34

2. Close the appliance with the lid (1).

3. Connect the appliance to the mains (11).

4. Choose the desired temperature (6), depending on what

kind of liquid you wish to heat up, e.g. water, mulled wine, etc.

5. Switch on the appliance by turning the timer switch (8)

to Cont. On. The indicator light (7) will illuminate and the heating process will start. - Stir the liquid regularly so that the heat is evenly distributed-.

6. Once the chosen temperature has been reached the red

indicator light goes off.

7. Place a cup or flask underneath the tap (5), to prepare

your desired beverage (instant coffee, tea, instant soup, etc.) Note: Various beverages, e.g. teas, need a special temperature to unfold their aroma.

8. Press down the tap lever (4) to pour the desired amount

of water / hot beverage into a cup or flask. Note: If the tap lever is pulled up, the lever will hold into position.

9. Once the cup or flask is filled with the desired amount of

water / hot drink release the lever back into its original position. The tap will close automatically. After use, always turn the temperature (6) control and the timer (8) to OFF position and unplug the appliance.Instruction Manual ENGLISH

Recommendation: If you are not using the appliance, set both temperature control (6) and timer (8) switch to OFF position, empty the water tank via the tap (5) and disconnect it from the mains! Note: The keeping warm temperature can vary between 5-10 °C. Attention: Do not set the keep warm temperature at 110°C, the appliance will keep boiling the water. Cleaning and Care Due to hygienic reasons clean your appliance on a regular basis, best after each use. Not doing so could possibly result in a hazardous situation or could lead to health issues (germ formation). Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains and let it completely cool down. Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock! Rinse the appliance with some hot water, if necessary use a mild dishwashing detergent. If this is the case, make sure to wipe it again with a moistened cloth until there is no soap residue left. Clean the body, lid and the grid of the appliance with a moistened soft cloth.36 Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and/or other hard objects to clean the appliance. Make sure that the appliance and all other resp. parts are properly dried. Never place the appliance and its accessories into the dishwasher – It is not dishwasher safe! This can damage the appliance and hurt its user! Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. DESCALING Descale your appliance in regular intervals (approx. every 3 – 6 months), depending on the frequency of use and the local water quality. Never use any sharp, pointed or metal objects to remove limescale built up in the appliance. To remove limescale, use a common gentle descaler, which is suitable for your appliance. After descaling, always make sure to rinse the appliance several times with some water. – But, do not immerse the appliance in water - Note: Descaler mixtures should not be poured down enamel coated sinks.Instruction Manual ENGLISH

Storage Wrap the power cord around the cord storage at the bottom of the appliance. Plug the power cord into the plug holder in the middle of the housing base. Keep the device dry. Keep it away from children and store it in a clean and dry place. Disposal Instructions Waste electrical devices marked with this sign must not be disposed of with your household waste, but are to be collected separately. Therefore, please return this device at the end of its life cycle to special collection points for disposal or your local dealer. Your Fruit Preserver 48100 is packed in a retail box.
