How to install the Perel HAM220 motion detector?
Mount the sensor at a minimum height of 1 m from the ground. Avoid pointing the sensor towards heat sources (sun, radiators). Secure the sensor and receiver with the provided screws and wall plugs. The receiver must be within 120 m of the sensor.
How to test the detector's operation?
Turn on the receiver. Wait about 30 seconds for warm-up. The receiver emits two short beeps. Walk into the surveillance area; the alarm should sound. If not, adjust the sensor position.

3. General Guidelines

  • This system can provide valuable protection for your home and property if used properly. However, it cannot guarantee complete protection against burglary or robbery. Therefore, Velleman nv will not be responsible for any losses or damages which occur during the use of this product.
  • Keep this device away from dust and extreme temperatures.
  • Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the device.
  • Do not aim the camera at the sun or other extremely bright objects.
  • Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.
  • All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
  • Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.

Do not puncture batteries or throw them in fire as they may explode. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries (alkaline). Dispose of batteries in accordance with local regulations. Keep batteries away from children.

Sensor

  1. Open the battery compartment and insert three AAA batteries according to the correct polarity.
  2. Close the battery compartment.

Receiver

  1. Open the battery compartment and insert three C batteries according to the correct polarity.
  2. Close the battery compartment.

Note

The receiver can also be powered using a 5 VDC, 200 mA power supply.

6. Installation

  1. Choose the installation spot considering the following:

○ Make sure that there is no hidden wiring which could be sectioned when drilling holes.
- The PIR sensor detects heat. Avoid aiming the sensor towards the sun, spotlights and heat-producing devices such as radiators and heaters.

o Mount the sensor at a minimum height of 1 m above the ground. If installed under garage eaves, make sure that the sensor is not blacked by gutters and the like.
- If installed at a height of 2 m or more, the sensor should be aimed downward and pointed toward the area to be monitored.
○ Make sure the installation spot is flat, dust-free, protected from rain and other weather elements, and not prone to vibrations.

  1. Use the installation holes on the devices to determine the distance of the mounting holes. Drill the holes and install the sensor and receiver using the included mounting accessories. Remember to install the receiver within 120 m of the sensor.

7. Operation

  1. Switch on the receiver. Allow about 30 seconds for warm-up. The receiver will emit two short beeps, indicating the unit is working.
  2. Test the sensor by walking into the covered area. Relocate or reinstall the sensor or receiver if no alarm is heard.
  3. Finally, select the desired volume and melody.

8. Cleaning and Maintenance

Occasionally wipe with a damp cloth to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong detergents.

In order to ensure the quality, our products regularly go through an extra quality check, both by an internal quality department and by specialized external organisations. If, all precautionary measures notwithstanding, problems should occur, please make appeal to our warranty (see guarantee conditions).

General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU):

  • All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase.
  • Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion.

You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.

- Not covered by warranty:

  • damage resulting from an inappropriate packing and shipping of the article;
  • all damage caused by modification, repair or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®.
  • Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.
  • Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.
    • Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.
  • The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties.
