Which battery to use with the STIHL RMA 2 RV lawn mower?
Use exclusively a STIHL AP battery (Lithium-ion, 36 V). Non-approved batteries can cause fires or explosions.
How to adjust the cutting height on the RMA 2 RV?
The cutting height is adjusted separately at the front and rear in 4 positions: 28, 50, 68 and 85 mm. For the rear, push the rear axle down and place it in the desired position. For the front, push the lever outward, select the position and let it engage. Make sure the front and rear settings are identical.
How to activate ECO mode?
Open the protective cover, then set the ECO switch to position I. ECO mode automatically adjusts the blade rotation speed to extend battery runtime.
What to do for good mulching?
For effective mulching: mow when the grass is dry, cut about one third of the height, use a sharp blade, move slowly, vary the mowing direction and mow frequently (2 times per week in spring). The RMA 2 RV mower is designed for mulching.
What to do if the mower does not start?
First check the battery: if one LED flashes green, recharge it. If one LED is red, the battery is too hot or too cold. If 3 LEDs flash red, clean the electrical contacts. If 4 LEDs flash red, the battery is defective. Refer to the manual for other causes.
How to clean the mower?
Always remove the safety key and battery before cleaning. Clean the mower with a damp cloth; never use a water jet. Clean the electrical contacts with a soft brush and remove grass residue around the blade.
How to replace the blade?
Remove the safety key and battery. Tilt the mower to a vertical position. Block the blade with a piece of wood, unscrew the central screw and remove the blade. Install the new blade with a new screw and washer, applying Loctite 243 threadlocker to the thread. Tighten the screw to 65 Nm.
How to fold the handlebar for storage?
Stop the mower, remove the safety key and battery. Open the quick-release levers on the handlebar, then fold the handlebar forward. The folded handlebar allows more compact storage and transport.
What is the battery runtime?
Runtime depends on the battery used and mowing conditions. For precise information, visit www.stihl.com/battery-life. In ECO mode, runtime can be extended.
How to store the mower in winter?
Remove the safety key and battery. Clean the mower and store it in a dry place out of reach of children. Store the battery at a temperature between -10°C and +50°C, with a charge level of 40 to 60%. Do not store the battery with the mower.
