What is the difference between the RMA 2 RPV and RMA 2 RV models?
The RMA 2 RPV model has two battery compartments: the device uses the first battery and then automatically switches to the second when it is empty. The RMA 2 RV model has only one battery compartment and a transport compartment for a spare battery.
Which batteries are compatible with the STIHL RMA 2 RPV lawn mower?
Only STIHL AP batteries are approved. The AP 100, AP 200 and AP 300 models offer different runtimes and maximum speeds (3.0 to 4.5 km/h).
How to activate ECO mode and what is it for?
ECO mode is activated via the switch located under the battery cover (position I). It automatically adjusts the blade rotation speed according to conditions to extend battery life.
Is the mower suitable for sloping terrain?
Yes, but with caution: mow perpendicular to the slope, do not exceed 25° (46.6%). Use a slow speed and keep both hands on the handlebar.
How to adjust the cutting height?
The cutting height is adjusted separately at the front and rear. For the front, push the lever outward and place it into one of the 4 notches. For the rear, push the axle down and position it. The front and rear settings must be identical (28, 50, 68 or 85 mm).
What to do if the mower does not start?
Check: 1) the safety key is inserted, 2) the battery is charged (1 flashing green LED = low battery), 3) the battery is at the correct temperature (1 red LED = too hot/cold). If 3 red LEDs flash, clean the electrical contacts in the battery compartment. If the problem persists, contact a STIHL dealer.
How to clean the mower?
Stop the mower, remove the safety key and battery. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. For the blade area, tilt the mower to a vertical position and use a piece of wood or a soft brush. Do not use a water jet or aggressive products.
How often should the blade be sharpened?
Sharpen the blade as soon as the cut becomes uneven or the grass turns yellow. Check the thickness (min. 2 mm) and width (min. 45 mm). Sharpening and balancing must be carried out by a STIHL specialist dealer to ensure safety.
Can the mower be used in the rain?
No, it is strictly forbidden to use the mower in rainy weather or on wet grass. Water can cause electric shock, damage the device, and reduce traction.
How to transport and store the battery?
For transport, remove the battery from the mower and pack it to prevent movement. For storage, keep the battery in a closed, dry room between -10 °C and +50 °C, with a charge level of 40 to 60% (2 green LEDs). Never dispose of it in fire or water.
