The device operates on 400 V three-phase and requires a residual current circuit breaker of 30 mA maximum. Use a suitable extension cord (3 x 1.5 mm² up to 25 m or 3 x 2.5 mm² up to 50 m) and regularly check the condition of the cable. Always disconnect before any intervention.
How to start and stop the shredder?
Plug in the power cord, then press the green button to start. To stop, press the red button. Wait for the blades to come to a complete stop before approaching with your hands. Do not stand in front of the ejection area when stopping.
What to do if the device does not start?
Check that the funnel is properly closed and that the locking device is disarmed. Check the mains power, cable, and plug. If the overload relay has tripped, let it cool for 10 minutes before restarting.
How to maintain the blades?
Before each use, check the wear of the blades. Reversible blades can be turned once; sharpen them at 30° if necessary. Replace them if the distance between the bore and the cutting edge is less than 6 mm. Consult a STIHL dealer for sharpening.

After each use, clean the device thoroughly. Remove the funnel, clean the ventilation slots, and lubricate the cutting tools with rapeseed oil. Never use a high-pressure cleaner and avoid aggressive detergents.
How to store the device during winter?
Thoroughly clean all parts, oil the moving parts, and store the shredder in a dry, clean, and closed place, out of reach of children. The filling funnel must be mounted.
How to transport the shredder?
Turn off the motor, unplug the cord, and let it cool. To lift, two people are needed: one holds the upper part of the funnel, the other the bar of the ejection chute. Secure the device on a loading surface using straps.
What to do in case of blockage of the cutting unit?
Immediately turn off the motor and unplug the plug. Remove the filling funnel and remove any stuck residues. Check that the blade disc is not damaged before restarting.
