Frequently Asked Questions - Roner Clip+ TAURUS

How to set temperature and time on the Roner Clip+?
After plugging in the device, press the on/off symbol. Use the adjustment button to select the desired temperature. To set the time, press the °C/° symbol to switch to hours and then minutes adjustment, and adjust with the adjustment button. Confirm by pressing the on/off symbol again.
What does the EE1 message on the screen mean?
The EE1 message accompanied by 3 beeps indicates a low water level. This may happen if the water is below the minimum level, if the device was taken out of the water during operation, if the water has evaporated, or if the device is running without water. Add water to the appropriate level.
The device makes a humming noise, is that normal?
Yes, a humming noise is normal when the motor and cooling fan are running. If the noise is excessive, check that the stainless steel body is properly clipped (push up and turn right until click). A water swirling noise can be reduced by adjusting the water level.
How to clean the Roner Clip+?
Unplug the device and let it cool. Disassemble the stainless steel body by turning counterclockwise. Remove the turbine guard using a screwdriver. Clean these parts with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher (gentle mode). Clean the electrical unit with a damp cloth; never immerse it.
Can I use the device without water?
No, never operate the device without water. This would damage the device and could cause overheating. Always respect the minimum and maximum water levels.
Why does the displayed temperature not match my thermometer?
Sous vide cooking devices are calibrated according to scientific standards that may differ from common thermometers. A slight difference is normal and does not affect the cooking quality.
What to do if the device does not turn on?
First check that the power outlet works. If the device still does not turn on, it may have disconnected due to overheating. Unplug it, wait about 15 minutes, then plug it back in. If the problem persists, contact authorized technical support.
How to properly assemble the stainless steel body?
Hold the device and align the unlock symbol with the arrow. Turn the stainless steel body clockwise until the lock symbols are aligned horizontally. You should hear a click.
How to disassemble the device for cleaning?
Unplug the device. Hold the main body and turn the stainless steel body counterclockwise to unlock. Then remove the turbine guard using a screwdriver.
What container capacity is recommended for the Roner Clip+?
The device is designed to be used with a container or pot of 6 to 15 liters. Ensure the water reaches at least the minimum level and does not exceed the maximum level.

TROUBLE SHOOTING FAQ

Noise Under the normal operation the system will hum due to the motor, impeller and cooling fan in operation.
Grinding noise The stainless steel skirt is loose. Push the stainless skirt up into the guide groove and turn to the right until you hear a click. With the skirt secure, the noise will go away. There also might be the chance the stirring shaft was inadvertently bent. In this case, unscrew the bottom pump disk and gently push the impeller until it is centered.
Slurping noise Your pump has formed a water vortex like when you are emptying out a bathroom sink or tub. Add more water or gently disturb water with a spoon. There is no sure way to eliminate a vortex from forming due to the pump rotation but usually will go away on its own.
Gurgling + whoosh noise The pump is sucking air-add more water. You should also see small bubbles in your tank.
Food damage The pump's water jet is cracking eggs or damaging fish fillets: Turn the pump outlet to face the container wall; this will greatly temper the flow of the pump output. It is also good practice to bag eggs to prevent them from being “blown” around in certain containers.
System will not turn out Check power plug and breakers
Low water level alarm (EE1) Add more water, the water level can be dropped during operation by the pump due to water turbulences
Low water level alarm turns on after a few seconds of operation (EE1)Add more water – The pump generates “waves” – sometimes these waves will cause the water level at the sensors to fluctuate up and down. The waves sometimes drop the water level right under the sensor and will cause a low water alarm. This is normal and you just need to add more water.
Temperature read does not match thermometerSous Vide circulators are calibrated to a scientific platinum primary standard which is far more accurate than store thermometers.
Lights in house are slightly flickering when system is onThis is normal as the circulator is modulating power.
