This data must agree in order that no damages occur in the device. If in doubt, ask your qualified electrician. Do not use an extension lead. If you accept liability for doing so, only use an extension lead which is in good condition and is suited to the power of the appliance. The use of multiple plugs or gangs is prohibited because of the danger of fire that is involved with this. Make sure that the power cable is undamaged and has not been installed under the ice maker or over hot or sharp surfaces.38 The electrical outlet must be protected by a 16A safety cut-out switch. The electrical safety of the device is only guaranteed if the device is connected to a properly installed protective conductor system. 15.5 Advices for frying
Smaller ingredients usually require a slightly shorter preparation time than larger ingredients. A larger amount of ingredients requires a slightly longer preparation time, a smaller amount of ingredients only requires a slightly shorter preparation time. Shaking the ingredients optimises the end result and can help prevent unevenly fried ingredients. To make fresh fries, use floury potatoes and cut them into 10 x 10 cm thick strips. Soak them in water for about 30 minutes and then dry them well. Coat the potatoes with a bit of oil for a crispy result. Adding a small amount of oil to your food will make it crispier. Do not use more than 30 ml of oil. Oil sprays are great for spreading small amounts of oil evenly over food. Do not prepare extremely greasy ingredients such as sausages in the fryer. Some snacks that can be prepared in an oven can also be prepared in the fryer. We recommend the following quantities and settings: Food Quantity (max.) Progr. Temp. (°C) Time (min.) Note French fries (frozen) 500 g 1000 g

Please note ► After half of time you can check the browning level and turn/ shake the food. ► Please note that a different quantity can require an adjustment of time and temperature. ► Keep in mind that these settings are indications. As ingredients differ in origin, size, shape as well as brand, we cannot guarantee the best setting for your ingredients. Warning ► Only use heat-resistant accessories in the appliance. The accessories used may be very hot after cooking. ► Never place baking paper or parchment paper in the deep fryer without putting food on it. The air circulation may cause the paper to lift up and touch the heating coils. 16 Cleaning and Maintenance This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to cleaning and maintaining the device. Please observe the notices to prevent damages due to cleaning the device incorrectly and to ensure trouble-free operation.45
16.1 Safety information
Attention Please observe the following safety notices, before you commence with cleaning the device: ► The device must be cleaned at regular intervals. If the device is not maintained in a clean condition, this will have a detrimental effect on the service life of the device and can also result in a dangerous condition in the device as well as in the growth of fungus and bacteria. ► Clean the device directly after use. Extended waiting unnecessarily complicates cleaning and can make it impossible in extreme cases. Excessive accumulations of dirt can even damage the device under certain circumstances. ► The frying basket and pot are anti stick coated. Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents. Do not scrape off stubborn dirt with hard items.
Remove the plug from the outlet and let the device cool down. The frying basket and the frying pot can be washed in warm soapy water with a non- abrasive sponge. The inner frying basket can also be washed in the dishwasher. Dry the parts thoroughly after you have been flushed. If necessary, wipe the inside and outside of the appliance with a moist cloth. After cleaning, put the unit back together. 17 Troubleshooting This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to operating the device. Observe the following notices to avoid dangers and damages:
Attention ► Only qualified electricians, who have been trained by the manufacturer, may carry out any repairs on electrical equipment. ► Improperly performed repairs can cause considerable dangers for the user and damages to the device.
17.2 Causes and rectification of faults
The following table assists in localizing and rectifying minor faults. Problem Solution The device is not functionin
Please check whether the power plug is properly plugged. The process doesn’t start when start / stop is pressed. Make sure that the frying pot is placed inside the device correctly. The food is not fully cooked or is cooked unevenly. If the inner frying basket is overfilled, the food will not be cooked sufficiently. Put smaller quantities in the frying basket. Shake or turn the food several times during the cooking time. Increase the cooking temperature or the cooking time.46 The food is not crispy after cookin
Spraying or brushing the food with a small amount of oil can increase the crispiness. The baskets do not slide securely into the appliance. Make sure that the inner frying basket is not overfilled with food. Make sure that the inner frying basket is firmly seated in the outer container. White smoke comes out of the appliance. When you use the appliance for the first time, you may notice white smoke. This is normal. Make sure that the container, frying basket and the inside of the hot air fryer are well cleaned and not greasy. When cooking greasy food, oil may get into the container of the frying basket. This oil produces white smoke and the container and frying basket may be hotter than usual. This is normal and does not affect the cooking process. Handle the baskets with care. Dark smoke comes out of the appliance. Immediately unplug the appliance from the mains. Dark smoke means food is burning or there is a problem with the electrical circuit. Wait until the smoke has cleared before removing the baskets. If the cause was not burnt food, contact customer service. E1 is shown in the display. The connection to the temperature sensor in the appliance is broken. Contact customer service. E2 is shown in the display. The temperature sensor in the device is defective. Contact customer service. Please note ► If you are unable to solve the problem with the steps shown above, please contact Customer Service. 18 Disposal of the Old Device Old electric and electronic devices frequently still contain valuable materials. However, they also contain damaging substances, which were necessary for their functionality and safety. If these were put in the non-recyclable waste or were handled incorrectly, they could be detrimental to human health and the environment. Therefore, do not put your old device into the non-recyclable waste under any circumstances. Please note ► Utilise the collection point, established in your town, to return and recycle old electric and electronic devices. If necessary, contact your town hall, local refuse collection service or your dealer for information. ► Ensure that your old device is stored safely away from children until it is taken away. 19 Guarantee We provide a 24-month guarantee for defects caused by production or material faults, beginning on the date of purchase.
