How to fill the water tank of the Gorenje SIH3200BKS iron?

Make sure the iron is unplugged and the fabric selector is set to MIN. Turn the Dry/Steam selector to « 0 ». Tilt the iron forward at about 45° and pour water through the filling opening up to the MAX mark.

What water to use for the steam iron?

It is recommended to use distilled water to prevent scale and clogging of the steam holes. Do not use chemically descaled water.

How to adjust the ironing temperature?

Use the fabric selection button (J) according to clothing labels: silk/nylon, wool, cotton, MAX for bed linen. The indicator light H turns on and then off when the temperature is reached.

Why is the iron not producing steam?

Check that the Dry/Steam selector is not set to « 0 » and that the temperature is set to the steam range (usually above the wool setting). Make sure there is enough water in the tank and that the steam hole is not blocked.

How to use the steam jet function?

Press button A (steam jet) while ironing at high temperature. Wait 5 seconds between presses. Do not hold the button for more than 5 seconds to avoid leaks.

How to clean the iron's soleplate?

Unplug and let cool. Clean with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. If fibers stick, use a cloth soaked in vinegar. Never use acid or strong alkaline products.

How to perform the self-cleaning of the Gorenje iron?

Set the steam selector to « 0 », fill the tank to MAX, select MAX temperature, plug in, wait for the light to turn off, unplug, hold the iron over the sink, press the self-cleaning button while shaking back and forth. Repeat if necessary, then dry the soleplate by ironing over an old cloth.

What to do if the iron leaks water from the soleplate?

Check that the temperature is high enough (fabric selector in steam range). Wait for the light to turn off before activating steam. Make sure you have not exceeded the MAX water level.

Can I use tap water in my iron?

Yes, but for better results and to avoid scale, it is recommended to use distilled water. In case of hard water, use the self-cleaning function more frequently.

How to store the iron after use?

Unplug and let cool completely. Empty the remaining water by tilting the iron. Set the Dry/Steam selector to « 0 ». Place the iron on its heel in a dry place out of reach of children.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

These instructions are intended for the user.

They describe the iron and how to use it. They also apply to different types of appliances, therefore you may find some descriptions of functions that may not apply to your appliance.

Never touch the surfaces of heating or ironing sole plate. They will become hot during operation. Keep children at a safe distance. There is a risk of burning!

WARNING!

This product does not apply to persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge (including children under the age of 8), unless they are under the supervision of an adult with civil conduct;

• Before using for the first time, please check if the voltage rating on the type plate corresponds to the mains voltage in your home.
• Make sure to unplug the appliance from the socket when leaving the iron even for a short while, and stand the iron on its end. Please leave the iron away from the touch of children..
• The iron will be of high temperature when used, never touch it with hand or close to the flammable product in order to avoid the accident.
• Caution: Unplug the appliance from the socket before filling the iron with water.
• Never immerse the iron in water or other liquid.
• Please send the iron to our special repair agent for repair if any damage on cord.
• Deposit or Mineral in the water will lead to generate the scales and block the seam hole, therefore it is advisable to use distilled water.
• Do not use chemically descaled water
• The ejected steam is hot and therefore hazardous. Never direct the steam towards people.
• Use an earthed wall socket; the cord and plug must be dry.

WARNING!

• Unfold the AC cord completely before using.
• In order to prevent overriding the circuit load, please don't use other appliances with high power at the same line.
• If necessary to connect with several appliances with high power at the same line, please use the cord with 10A, otherwise the cord with less than 10A will be too heat. The cord should be placed carefully in order not to be pulled out or stumbled.

- This appliance is not intended for use by persons, including newborns, infants, minors and vulnerable groups,(refers to the elderly, the disabled) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. BEFORE USE

1. Remove all packaging materials from this product.
2. Before discarding the packaging materials, please check that all parts are not missing.

Note: When using the product for the first time, there is a slight smell or a short period of smoke, which is a normal phenomenon.

IRONING MODES

REMEMBER TO FILL WATER INTO IRON. WE RECOMEND DISTILLED WATER FOR BEST IRONING EFFECT!

1. Make sure iron is unplugged and the fabric select dial (J) is in the MIN position.
2. Turn dry/steam selector to "0" (C).
3. Place iron on the heel rest, tilt forward approximately 45 angle and pour water into the water-filling cover to the MAX position of the water tank.

1. DRY IRONING

1. Set the dry/steam selector (C) to position "O"
2. As per washing label of various clothes, set the correct ironing temperature (J) to begin a ironing.

2. STEAM IRONING

1. Fill in the water with water tank as per the water-filling methods.
2. Plug the appliance in the socket.
3. Set Fabric Select Dial (J) to MAX position as per the temperature indicator, steam iron will be available, otherwise water may leak from the soleplate.
4. When power indicator light (H) goes off, you are ready to iron!
5. Set the Dry/Steam Selector (C) correctly, increase steam output by pushing the Dry/Steam Selector right and decrease steam output by left.

3. STEAM BURST

• This function works well for tough wrinkles and heavy fabrics. By pressing Steam Button (A), an intense burst of steam is emitted from the soleplate, this can be very useful when removing stubborn creases.
• The shot of steam facility can be used only while ironing with high ironing temperature. For optimal result, there should be 5 seconds rest between presses of the steam button.
• To prevent leaking water from the soleplate does not press the steam button continuously for more than 5 seconds.. Also allow at least one minute interval before applying this burst of steam function.

4. SPRAY FUNCTION

At any temperature by pressing the spray button (B) a couple of times, the laundry can be damped down. Ensure that there is enough water in the water tank.

SELF CLEANING FUNCTION

Use the self-cleaning function once every two weeks.

If the water in your area is very hard(i.e, when flakes come out of the soleplate during ironing),the self-cleaning function should be used more frequently.).

1. Make sure the appliance is unplugged,
2. Set the Dry/Steam Selector (C) to steam level "O",
3. Fill the water tank to the MAX position, do not put vinegar or other dealing Agents in the water tank,
4. Select the maximum ironing temperature,
5. Put the plug in the wall socket,
6. Unplug the iron when the power indicator lighter has gone off,
7. Hold the iron over the sink,
8. Press the self-cleaning button, then shake the iron back and front.
9. Steam and boiling water will come out of the soleplate, impurities and flakes(if any) will be flushed out.
10. Repeat the self-cleaning process if the iron still contains a lot of impurities. After the self-cleaning process, put the plug in the wall socket and let the iron Heat up to allow the soleplate to dry,
11. Unplug the iron when it has reached the set ironing temperature,
12. Move the hot iron gently over a piece of used cloth to remove any water stains that may have formed on the soleplate,
13. Let the iron cool down before you store it.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, remove the plug from the socket and allow the iron to cool down sufficiently.

1. Wipe off the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner.
2. If the fiber is adhered to the soleplate, use a damp cloth with vinegar to wipe off the soleplate.
3. Never use strong acid or alkali in order to avoid damaging the soleplate.
4. If the scale blocks the steam hole, please remove the scale with toothpick; do not damage the surface of soleplate.
5. Stand the iron on its end and let it cool down sufficiently, and meantime pour any remaining water out of the box, set the dry/steam selector to position "O".

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem	Possible Reasons	Measurement
Not enough heat or Too heat	Rotate Fabric Select Dial improperly or unplugging	Correct Fabric Select Dial in position and check if the iron is plugged.
No steam or Leakage	The Fabric Select Dial has been set to MIN	Set the Fabric Select Dial to the required position.
No surge of steam or no vertical steam	The(vertical) surge of steam function has been used too often within a very short period. The iron is not hot enough	Continue ironing in horizontal position and wait a while before using the (vertical) surge of steam function again
Leaking water from Soleplate	Set the Fabric Select Dial out of steam range.	Set the Fabric Select Dial as per steam range.
	The heat is still not enough.	Open Dry/Steam Selector only after the indicator light goes off.
	The water is over than max position	Pour out the remaining water
Little Steam	Check if the Dry/Steam Selector is in proper location.	Set the steam knob to the proper location.
	Steam hole is blocked.	Clean hole with distilled water.
	Too little water in the water tank Fill water into the box
No Spraying	No enough pressure or air inside	Press the spray nozzle by hand, and push the spray button several times continuously.
