2. Safety Instructions

Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before using this appliance.
Class 2 appliance (WDC1220 only).
The power outlet on the WDC1230 maintains class 1.
IP class X4.
Never use the appliance to vacuum toxic materials (i.e. chlorine bleach, ammonia), flammable items or combustible liquids (i.e. petrol, hot ashes, cigarettes, matches, explosive materials or anything burning), or use in areas where such substances and items may be present.
- This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Do not use this appliance in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool. Do not install this appliance immediately below a socket.
- Always check the power cord before use. The power cord and plug should be in good condition, and must not be damaged.

If the external flexible cable or cord of this appliance is damaged, it shall be exclusively replaced by the manufacturer or his service agent or a similar qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

Do not unplug the appliance by pulling on the power cable. To unplug, grasp the power plug.
- The use of an extension lead or multi-plug adaptor is not advised when connecting this appliance to the mains. Connection through these devices could lead to a risk of overloading, overheating and even fire at the extension lead or adaptor due to inadequate connection quality.
- Do not pull or carry the appliance by the power cable, use the power cable as a handle or pull the power cable around sharp edges or corners. Avoid running the appliance over the power cable.
- Do not handle or operate the appliance with wet hands and follow the electrical safety precautions at all times.
- Do not attempt to change an accessory while the appliance is plugged into the mains power supply. Switch off and remove the power plug first.
- Do not operate the appliance close to heaters, radiators and other hot surfaces.
- Do not operate or use the appliance without dust bag and/or filters installed.
- Before vacuuming, remove any large or sharp object from the floor or cleaning surface in order to prevent damage to the filter.
- If the hose inlet, accessory or metal tube is blocked, switch off the appliance and unplug from the mains power supply. Clear the blocked object before attempting to start the appliance again.
- Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the mains power supply, even when switched off.
- Keep the hose, tube and other parts of the appliance away from your face and body.
3. General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
- All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
- Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.
- Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
- Nor Velleman nv nor its dealers can be held responsible for any damage (extraordinary, incidental or indirect) - of any nature (financial, physical...) arising from the possession, use or failure of this product.

5. Assembly
General Assembly
- Assemble the wheels to the base of the appliance.

- Assemble the base to the appliance and lock.


- Connect the plastic hose end into the appliance. Connect the hose handle with the telescopic tube.


- Connect the desired accessory and extend the telescopic tube if desired.


Switchable Blowing Function
- Replace the outlet board with the blowing board.

- Connect the plastic hose end into the blowing board and fasten tightly.

Drain Function
Screw the drainage cover to pour water from the tank.

Power Socket (WDC1230 only)
The integrated power socket is perfect for connecting a power tool, so you can extract dust and debris as you sand or drill.


The maximum outlet power is 2000 W. Never exceed the maximum power allowed to avoid the appliance's motor to burn out.
How does the integrated power socket work:
-
when the I-0-II switch is on 0, the socket will be a power supply
-
when the I-0-II switch is on I, the vacuum cleaner will work by itself and the socket is also a power supply
-
when the I-0-II switch is on II, the vacuum cleaner will be controlled by the socket (connected with tools or appliances)
turn on the connected tool, the vacuum cleaner will start to work immediately;
turn off the connected tool, the vacuum cleaner will stop in 8 seconds.
6. Operation

This appliance can be used with either a dust bag (not included) or a cloth filter (not included).



Dry Vacuum Cleaning
- Ensure to correctly fit the HEPA filter and/or dust bag/cloth filter before use. Also, install the sponge filter.
- Switch on the appliance and vacuum.
- Empty the tank and clean/replace the dust bag once the dust bag is full. Also, clean the cloth filter accordingly.
Wet Vacuum Cleaning
- Ensure to fit the sponge filter correctly. The HEPA filter, dust bag and cloth filter should not be used and therefore removed.
- Switch on the appliance and vacuum.
- Clean the tank after each use. Avoid leaving dust or dirty water inside the tank. Regularly wipe the appliance inside out using only lukewarm water. Also, clean the used accessories.
I-0-II Switch (WDC1230 only)
To use the appliance as a regular vacuum cleaner, switch the appliance to position I.
- To use the appliance with an extra electrical appliance, make sure that both appliances are switched off. Connect the extra appliance to the vacuum cleaner and flick the switch to the II position. The vacuum cleaner will start when the connected appliance starts.
7. Accessories
Floor Brush
The floor brush is ideal for cleaning carpets and hard floors.
Wiper Brush
This brush is ideal for wet cleaning applications.
Round Brush
Use this brush for cleaning furniture, curtains and upholstery.
Variable Suction Control
Slide the regulator on the handle to adjust the suction power. Just make sure it is closed for liquid pick-up.
8. Care and Maintenance

The plug must be removed from the socket outlet before cleaning or maintaining the appliance.

Release the latches and remove the top cover.
-
Remove the HEPA filter (WDC1230 only).


- Remove the cloth filter.

Carefully wash the HEPA and cloth filters using warm water.
-
Remove the sponge filter.

- Air-dry for at least 24 hours.

- Re-fit the filters into the machine.

Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion. You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.
- Not covered by warranty:

all direct or indirect damage caused after delivery to the article (e.g. by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity...), and by the article, as well as its contents (e.g. data loss), compensation for loss of profits:

Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.

Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.

Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.
