Perel TCA90201 - Safety Instructions - 4

Class II equipment.

  • Substance to be vacuumed - cold ashes from fireplaces, wood/coal stoves, ashtrays, grill.
  • "Cold Ash" is ash cooled down for a sufficient time without any pockets of embers inside. This can be confirmed by scouring the ash

for pockets of embers by using metal tools before using the ash vacuum cleaner. Cold ash does not emit any recognizable heat.

- Empty and clean vacuum cleaner before and after vacuuming to avoid the collection of materials that could pose a fire hazard in the vacuum cleaner.

• Vacuum only ashes from admissible fuels.

- Do not vacuum any hot, burning or glowing objects.

- Do not vacuum any flammable substances.

- This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

- The appliance may only be connected to alternating current. The voltage must correspond with the type plate on the appliance.

- Never touch the mains plug and the socket with wet hands.

- Do not pull the plug from the socket by pulling on the connecting cable.

- Check the power cord with mains plug for damage before every use. If the external flexible cable or cord is damaged, it shall be replaced by a special cord or cord exclusively available from the manufacturer or his service agent.

- To avoid accidents due to electrical faults we recommend the use of sockets with a line-side current-limiting circuit breaker (max. 30 mA nominal tripping current).

- Turn off the appliance and remove the mains plug prior to any care and maintenance work.

- Repair works may only be performed by the authorised customer service.

- Keep packaging film away from children - risk of suffocation!

- Switch the appliance off after every use and prior to every cleaning/maintenance procedure.

- The appliance may not be used in areas where a risk of explosion is present.

- The ash and dry vacuum cleaner must not be used for the separation of hazardous substances.

- Only ashes from permissible fuels (e.g. natural wood, wooden briquets, wood pellets, lignite and hard coal) must be vacuumed.

- Do not vacuum up soot.

- Vacuuming material, which appears to have cooled down from the outside may still be very hot inside. Hot ash particles may ignite

again in the airflow. Stir up the ashes with a metal object to check whether the ashes are still hot.

- Please make sure that the oven is cold before you vacuum clean ovens.

- Wait until the ashes have cooled down before you begin with the cleaning. We do not recommend extinguishing the fire rapidly with water. The chimney material will not withstand the quick temperature changes and may crack.

- Continuously check hoses and vacuum cleaner for heat while vacuuming ashes. If you notice a temperature rise, switch off the vacuum cleaner immediately. Pull out the mains plug. Remove the vacuuming material from the ash and dry vacuum cleaner. Allow device to cool down outside under supervision.

- Completely empty the container before and after vacuuming ashes.

- The use of dust collection bags is not permitted.

- Immediately switch the appliance off or pull the power plug if foam forms or liquids escape!

- reactive metal dust particles (such as aluminium, magnesium, zinc) in combination with highly alkaline or acidic detergents

o undiluted, strong acids and alkali
