USER MANUAL M112800 ADE
This symbol means: "Consult operating instructions". To achieve accurate results, read the instructions for use carefully before use and follow all instructions provided therein. Keep the instructions for use for future reference. Your ADE electronic baby & toddler weighing has been manufactured for monitoring the weight of babies. The weighing result is used as an essential indication of the weight development of neonates and babies. Make sure the baby is only weighed following strictly the instructions of this Operating Manual and is never left unattended. In order to achieve the best possible results it is imperative to read and follow the Operating Manual in all respects. Always keep the Manual in a safe place next to the scale. Scope of delivery - 1 x weighing scale base - 1 x weighing tray - 1 x weighing plate for toddlers - 2 x AA batteries - Operation manual Basic safety precautions - Handle your scale with care - it is a precision instrument. - Never leave the infant / child unattended. Adult supervision is required at all times. - Use the scale on a firm and level surface. In any case, make sure that the scale is secured against accidental dropping. - Do not let the infant / child jump around on the scale. - This product is not a toy and should not be used as one. When not in use, store out of reach of children. - Before use, make sure that the mains voltage and type of current indicated on the rating plate match the mains voltage and type of current at the place of use. - Make sure that the mains cable is not a potential trip hazard. - Operate the unit only within the permissible ambient conditions. - Do not operate the unit in hazardous or unstable environments. - Locate the unit as far away as possible from equipment that generates electromagnetic or other interference. - Portable and mobile RF communications equipment can affect electrical equipment. Before using high-frequency devices, observe their operating instructions. - Use only approved accessories. - To avoid the risk of fire and electric shock, use only ADE plug-in power supplies. - Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning the appliance. - Clean with a dry cloth, do not use harsh cleaning agents. - Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.10

Set up of the scale The scale consists out of 3 parts – weighing base, baby weighing tray and toddler weighing plate.
Weighing plate for toddler
The baby weighing tray or the toddler weighing plate is fixed and released via the turning knob underneath the baby weighing base. Please make sure, that the tray or plate is completely and securely fixed before use.
Power supply The scale is powered by 2 x AA alkaline batteries. Turn the scale around and open the battery compartment. Insert the enclosed AA alkaline batteries. Please observe the correct polarity as shown inside the battery compartment. Replace the batteries when „Lo“ is being displayed. It indicates low battery power or use the mains connection.M112800

1. Start the scale by pressing the ON/OFF button. After a function test the last measured
weight will be displayed for 3 seconds followed by 0.00 and ◄. The scale is ready for use and is set automatically to zero.
2. The baby can now be placed on the scale and the weight will be shown on the display in
10 g steps. Auto hold function Place the baby on the scale. The display will flush until the actual weight has been taken and HOLD will be shown on the display. To cancel the hold function press the HOLD button on the key board. The scale will switch of after approx. 60 seconds, when not in use.12
Tare function The tare function can be used to disregard an additional weight e.g. a nappy or towel on the weighing tray surface. The tare function is operated as follow: Place the object on the tray surface and press the TARE button. The additional weight will be subtracted and 0.00 will be shown on the display. A baby can now be placed on the scale surface and the net weight will appear on the display. The maximum tare weight must not exceed 500g. Unit switch function Press the ON/OFF button twice during the function test. By pressing again the ON/OFF button you can select the requested units kg or lbs. The kg or lb OZ symbol will appear in the display to indicate the chosen weighing unit. Recall of memorized weight Start the scale via the ON/OFF button and the last measured weight will be displayed for approx. 3 sec. in order to determined weight changes of the infant. Cleaning & maintenance Cleaning Clean your scale with a soft moist towel or conventional disinfectant only. Do not use any aggressive cleaning solutions. Fault messages
1. Why does the display read ‘lo’?
Low battery. Replace the batteries.
2. The message displays 0-Ld
Overload warning; remove the weight immediately; otherwise, permanent damage to the scale will occur. Storage and transport Keep all original parts and pieces for an eventual sending back of the scale in order to avoid any possible damage during transport which automatically leads to no warranty. Disconnect all cables before transport to avoid unnecessary damages. Waste disposal Electronic devices are not domestic waste. If the scale is out of use the responsible waste disposal association will be glad to advise you on the measures necessary to dispose of it properly.
Do not throw used batteries into domestic waste. Please inform yourselves at the responsible waste disposal association how to dispose used batteries.M112800
Warranty A two year warranty period from date of purchase will be guaranteed for either repair or replacement once it is proven that the defects are caused by poor material or poor workmanship (please keep the receipt for presentation). All moveable parts such as batteries, cables, plug-in power supply units, rechargeable batteries etc. are excluded. Warranty does not apply to normal appearance of usage or sign of wear or any damages caused by accidents or misuse. Eventual warranty- or liability claims are subject to using the original ADE accessories or spare parts. Products which have been opened by unauthorized persons are automatically out of warranty. Customers abroad are requested to contact their local dealers in the event of any warranty becoming applicable.
