BE 2004 bathroom scale Intended use The bathroom scale is designed for the weighing of people in the home. It is not suitable for use in clinics, medical practices, etc. The maximum carrying capacity of 180 kg must not be exceeded. Safety This product may be used by children aged 8 and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the product and understand the risks that may arise. Children must not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are 8years of age or older and are being supervised. Batteries can be life-threatening. Therefore, keep batteries out of reach of small children. If a battery has been swallowed or has entered the body in any other way, seek medical help immediately. Failure to do so within 2 hours may result in severe internal burns that could cause death. DANGER for children Keep packaging material away from children. There is a risk of choking if swallowed. Also pay attention that children do not pull the packaging material over their heads. RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion There is a risk of explosion if the batteries are replaced improperly. Replace the batteries only with the same or equivalent battery type. Pay attention to the “Technical data”. Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into re, or short-circuited. Otherwise, there is an increased risk of explosion and leakage; furthermore, gases may escape!Safety

Remove the battery from the scale when it is depleted or when you are no longer using the scale. You will thus avoid damage that may result from leakage of battery acid. Do not expose the battery to any extreme conditions, for example, by storing it on radiators or under direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage! Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery. Do not make any modications to the product. Only allow repairs to be carried out by a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out improperly can considerably endanger the user. Do not place the scale in the vicinity of devices that may emit electromagnetic radiation, such as mobile phones, wireless devices, or the like. Doing so may lead to incorrect display indications or malfunctions. There are feet on the underside of the scale. Since oor surfaces are made from various materials and are treated with diverse care products, it cannot be completely excluded that some of these substances contain ingredients that may adversely aect and soften the feet of the device. BE 2004 bathroom scale English Start-Up Removing iso-strip The battery is already inserted upon delivery and fitted with an iso-strip to prevent it from discharging ahead of time. In order to start up the scale, you must remove the iso-strip. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the device.
1. Open the battery compartment.
2. Pull out the iso-strip.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover.
Choosing the unit of measurement The standard unit of measurement upon delivery is “kg” (kilogramme). The measurement result can also be displayed as "lb" (pounds) and as "st:lb" (stones:pounds).
1. To switch on the scale, step on the middle of the weighing surface.
2. Use the UNIT button on the back of the scale to set the desired unit of

1. Place the scale on an even, firm and dry surface. Do not place the scale on a carpet.
2. First, briefly step onto the middle of the weighing surface to calibrate the scale. As
soon as the display shows “0.0”, calibration is complete. This calibration must be performed after each battery change.Weighing
BE 2004 bathroom scale Weighing WARNING against injuries − Do not step onto the scale with wet feet or when its surface is damp. Risk of slipping! − Position yourself on the scale. Stand still and do not hold on to anything. The measured weight will be displayed shortly thereafter. A few seconds after you step off the weighing surface, the scale will switch off automatically. Weigh yourself with as little clothing on as possible. Try to always weigh yourself at the same time and under consistent conditions in order to obtain comparable values. Changing the battery A change of batteries becomes necessary when “LO” appears on the display, or when nothing at all is displayed. When changing the battery, bear the following in mind: Only use the type of battery that is specied in the “Technical data”. Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-) when inserting the battery. The plus pole (+) must point upwards. Dispose of the old battery in an environmentally responsible way (see “Disposal”). Cleaning NOTE on material damage − Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids. − Never use harsh, scouring or abrasive cleaning agents or the like to clean the scale. Otherwise, the surface could be scratched.
1. Wipe the scale as needed with a slightly damp soft cloth.
2. Disinfect the weighing surface from time to time using a suitable disinfecting agent
(available at specialist retailers and pharmacies).Fault/Remedy
