2. Instructions for use, safety instructions, care and maintenance

WARNING! Children are often unable to recognise dangerous situations and are thus at risk of injury. Please note the following:

  • Never leave small children unattended and in close proximity to hot cooking utensils.
  • Keep the packaging bag and plastic films away from babies and little children, there is the risk of suffocation! Packaging and protective films are no toys.
  • Before every use, check the base of the pot and the glass ceramic hob for any residue. Even slight contamination can leave scratches on the glass ceramic hob.
  • Do not leave oil or fat unattended!
  • Do not extinguish burning oil or fat with water, instead use a blanket or a suitable fire extinguisher!
  • Overheating can damage the hob and cooking utensils; do not leave an empty pot on a hot hob for an extended period of time. Important: Do not overheat the cookware it may cause damage to the non-stick function and to avoid smoke emission, which might be dangerous for small animals (e.g. birds) with a sensitive respiratory system. We recommend to keep small animals (e.g.birds) not in the kitchen. Caution! Handles and lid knobs get hot. Please use oven mitts.
  • Do not shock the hot lid with cold water.
  • The cookware as well as glass lid, plas- tic lid knobs and plastic handles are heat-resistant up to 160 °C (for a maxi- mum of 1 hour). The kitchen aids are not suitable for the oven.
  • Please do not leave kitchen aids unmoved in the cookware.
  • The glass lids are fragile/not shock- proof!
  • Place the hot pot on suitable table mats to protect the table and tablecloth.
  • Never use abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents and never cut the food directly in the pot as this may damage the surface. Notice: Damage caused by non- observance of the instructions for use and care are not the responsibility of the supplier. The right of recourse is excluded on these grounds.

2.2 Instructions for use

  • Completely remove any stickers.
  • Before using any cookware with a non- stick coating for the first time, first boil water in the cookware 2 to 3 times and clean it using washing-up liquid. Following this, and after each subsequent usage of the product, always apply a thin layer of cooking oil.
  • When frying, first allow the empty cookware to heat up (moderate heat), then add the food and brown it, and then cook through at a low heat setting.10
  • Discolourations in the coating do not detract from the frying/cooking effect.
  • When using the product for frying or deep-frying: – Butter and margarine should not be used at temperatures greater than 160°C. Substances such as water, salt and milk protein heat quickly and thus also affect the flavour of your food. – Oils, normal fats and concentrated butter do not contain water or additives. They may be heated at a maximum temperature of 220°C. – Hydrogenated vegetable fats are suitable for searing food at max. 280°C.
  • Handles that are screwed on may become loose. If necessary, tighten these using a standard screwdriver.
  • Never use sharp objects and never cut or slice food in the pot in order to avoid damaging the surface. To turn the contents of the pot, only use wooden or plastic utensils. Tip: When cooking, match the diameter of the pot to the size of the hob in order to save energy. To save energy when using a gas stove, do not let the flames project beyond the base of the pot.

2.3 Care instructions

  • After each use, clean with hot water and a cloth or a soft sponge and add a little washing up liquid to the hot water if necessary. Rub a little fat or cooking oil into the cookware after every usage. Notice: All parts are suitable for dishwasher use. Cleaning the pot in the dishwasher may lead to surface discolouration. This will not, however, restrict usability. Recommendation: If the cookware is rinsed in the dishwasher, take it out after rin- sing and dry it thoroughly. This way, you will avoid stains.
  • Briefly boil soapy water and use a washing-up brush to remove stubborn food residue. Do not use any hard objects, wire wool or scouring powder.

3. In the case of use on induction hobs

CAUTION! High heating-up rate – do not overheat cookware when preheating. If overheating does occur, please ventilate the room sufficiently.

  • Under certain conditions, a sound may be emitted due to the electromagnetic properties of the heat source and the cookware. This is completely normal and is not the result of any defect in your induction hob or the cookware.
  • The cookware should be placed in the centre of the induction hob ring.
  • Do not touch the glass-ceramic surface immediately after cooking because the hob will be hot from the residual heat from the base of the cookware. Always keep out of the reach of children.11
