Frequently Asked Questions - IAN 373075 Ernesto

Is this pan compatible with induction?
Yes, it is compatible thanks to magnetic steel elements inserted in the aluminium base. Ensure you centre the pan on the cooking zone and use an appropriate base diameter (200 mm for the frying pan, 140 mm for the wok).
Can I use this pan in the oven?
Yes, up to 160 °C for a maximum of 1 hour. Do not leave the pan in the oven beyond this temperature or duration.
How to clean the pan without damaging the non-stick coating?
Wash it by hand with hot water and dish soap, using a soft sponge. Avoid sharp objects, metal brushes and abrasive detergents. Dishwasher use is possible but may discolour the aluminium parts.
What should I do if the handle becomes loose?
Tighten the handle screws. Never use a pan with a loose handle. The screws are spare parts available during the warranty period.
Why does my pan make noise on my induction hob?
This is normal. The noise is due to the electromagnetic properties of the heat source and the container. It is not a defect.
Can I use metal utensils?
No, always use wooden or synthetic utensils to avoid scratching the non-stick coating. Never cut food directly in the pan.
What should I do if the coating discolours?
Discolouration on the outside or inside may occur due to overheating (especially without fat) or contact with burnt proteins. This does not affect the quality of the coating or its use. Avoid overheating the pan when empty.
How to prevent fat from catching fire?
Never leave the pan unattended with fat. If fat catches fire, do not use water: smother the flames with a lid or a thick woollen blanket.
Can I keep hot food in the pan?
Yes, you can keep hot food in the oven up to 160 °C for 1 hour. Do not leave the pan on a heat source after cooking.
What is the warranty period and how to activate it?
The warranty is 3 years from the date of purchase. Keep the receipt as proof of purchase. In case of a defect, contact the after-sales service (France: 0800 904 879, Belgium: 0800 71 011) before returning the product.

We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. Familiarise yourself with the product before using it for the first time. In addition, please carefully refer to the operating instructions and the safety advice below. Only use the product as instructed and only for the indicated field of application. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Care and use

Save energy! To avoid heat loss, choose a hotplate with a diameter that matches the diameter of the pan.

Effective bottom diameter approx.:

  • HG04352A (28 cm Pan): 200 mm
    -HG04352B (28 cm Wok): 140mm

  • Remove all labels from the product prior to use and rinse with clean water.
Before using the pan for the first time, boil it out with water 2 to 3 times to completely remove all manufacturing residues.
    Lightly grease the pan.

  • Do not overheat the pan while empty or filled to prevent the non-stick effect from weakening due to damage to the coating.

■ Risk of overheating! When fat-free food comes in contact with non-oiled, overheated pans, slight discolorations of the non-stick coating might occur due to the burning of proteins. Such discolorations are signs of wear and do not affect the quality of the coating and its fitness for use.
Heat up the food at a high / medium heat setting and then let it cook at a lower heat setting until ready.
Never leave the pan unsupervised while the grease is warming: Overheated grease can ignite. Never attempt to extinguish grease fires with water! Smother the flames with a lid or a dense wool blanket.
- Only use plastic or wooden kitchen utensils to prevent damaging the non-stick coating. Do not cut food directly in the pan.
- Do not add dripping wet meat to the pan. Grease splatting onto a glowing hob can easily cause a fire.
The handle may heat during cooking. Use a pot holder or grill gloves for your protection.
The pan is suitable for gas, electric, glass ceramic, induction and halogen cooker hobs.

Note for induction hobs: A noise may occur under certain conditions, resulting from the electromagnetic properties of the heat source and the pot / pan. This is totally normal and does not imply that your induction hob or your cookware is damaged. Place the pot / pan in the middle of the induction hotplate. ATTENTION! High heating-up rate! Do not overheat cookware when preheating. The room must be aired out well, in the event cookware overheats.
This article combines the benefits of aluminium cookware, such as low weight and high thermal conductivity, with the benefits of cooking with induction. To enable this, magnetic steel elements have been inserted in the aluminium base. Consequently the base is not magnetic throughout, so that on induction hobs that are significantly greater than the base diameter, it can happen that the induction coils do not react. This is not a quality defect and does not represent any impairment of the functionality. So that the article functions perfectly, please always place it on the hob corresponding to the effective base diameter stated in this manual.
High temperatures may discolour the exterior of the product. This does not indicate faulty material, nor does it impair the product's quality or function.
- Never hold the hot product under cold running water. The underside of the product may be damaged or fall off.

The item is suitable for keeping dishes warm inside the oven (max. 160^ for 1 hour).
This pan is suitable for dishwashers.
Handwash with hot water and common washing-up liquid. Avoid using sharp or pointy objects or brushes to avoid damaging the material.
Do not clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners.

  • Frequently cleaning of the pan with harsh cleaners may damage it and can cause discoloration.
Aluminium pieces may discolour when placed in the dishwasher.
    ■ ATTENTION! RISK OF SCRATCHES! Do not move the cookware back and forth on glass-ceramic hobs! We recommend before cooking to wipe briefly the surface of the hob and the cookware bottom with a clean, lint-free cloth (e.g. microfiber) to reduce the risk of scratches.
  • Food safe: This pan does not affect the taste or odour of prepared foods.
  • Never use pans if the handles are loose. Retighten the screw joint of the handles if necessary.
