How to select the appropriate charging current?
Use the CURRENT button to choose from 2A, 6A, 10A, or 15A. For small batteries (2-60 Ah), choose 2A or 6A; for large batteries (50-400 Ah), use 15A. Refer to the battery manufacturer's recommendations.
What does error code E01 mean?
E01 indicates that the internal temperature of the charger is too high. Let the charger cool down; charging will resume automatically when the temperature drops.
How to use BOOST mode?
BOOST mode provides a 5-minute quick charge. To activate it, connect the charger to the battery, then press the BOOST button. Caution: this mode is advanced and requires monitoring.
Can I leave the charger plugged in after charging?
The charger switches to STANDBY mode when charging is complete. However, it is recommended to unplug the charger from the outlet and battery after use to avoid unnecessary wear.
What to do if the screen displays E03?
E03 means you selected a 6V charging mode while the battery is 12V. Check your battery voltage and select an appropriate 12V mode.
Can the charger be used outdoors?

Why does my Güde BOOST GAB 12V15A charger display 15A but does not charge the battery?
Frequently Asked Questions - 06/07/2026
Response Notice-Facile

If your Güde BOOST GAB 12V15A charger displays an intensity of 15A but the battery does not charge, several points need to be checked:

Main checks:

  • Battery condition - A deeply discharged or defective battery may not accept the charge despite the intensity display. Test with another battery of the same type to confirm.
  • Connections and polarity - Check that the clamps or connectors are securely attached to the battery terminals and that the polarity is correct (+ to +, - to -).
  • Charge mode selection - The charger offers different settings. Make sure you have selected the correct mode and voltage (12V) for your battery.
  • Fuse or thermal protection - If the display works but not the charge, an internal fuse may have tripped or thermal protection activated. Let the device rest for a few minutes before trying again.
  • Damaged cables - Visually inspect the charging cables for damage, cracks, or exposed wires.

If the battery is confirmed to be in good condition and the connections are correct, the problem is likely with the charger itself. In this case, repair or replacement will be necessary.

How does the boost function of the Güde BOOST GAB 12V15A battery charger work?
Frequently Asked Questions - 04/26/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The BOOST function of the Güde BOOST GAB 12V15A battery charger is a fast charging mode designed to quickly recharge a deeply discharged battery to enable vehicle starting. This advanced mode delivers a high charging current for a limited time to quickly provide energy to the battery.

How to activate BOOST mode: First, connect the charger to the battery terminals while respecting the polarity (red clamp on + and black clamp on -). Once the battery is connected, simply press the BOOST button on the charger. The LED indicator "FAS" (Fast) will light up continuously to confirm that BOOST mode is active.

Charging duration and characteristics: BOOST mode operates automatically for exactly 5 minutes. During this time, the charger delivers a high charging current (up to 15A) to quickly restore the voltage of the 12V battery. After these 5 minutes, charging stops automatically.

Compatible batteries: The BOOST mode of the GAB 12V15A works with all types of 12V batteries compatible with the charger: lead-acid batteries, gel batteries, AGM batteries, and wet batteries. Ensure that your battery is indeed a 12V battery before using this mode.

Important points to know: BOOST mode is an advanced charging mode that requires your full attention before and during its use. Never leave the charger unattended during charging. Make sure the clamp connections are tight and that the battery terminals are clean. If the battery is extremely discharged or faulty, an error LED may light up. In this case, wait a few minutes and try again, or consult a professional if the problem persists.

This BOOST mode is particularly useful for emergency situations where you need to quickly start a vehicle. However, for a complete and regular charge of your battery, prefer standard charging modes (12V/2A, 12V/6A, 12V/10A, or 12V/15A) that ensure better protection and a longer battery life.
