Tips

  • Generally it is not necessary to preheat the device. However, to be better able to determine when the food is cooked and when preparing food which has to be ready "on the dot", preheating is recommended.
  • You generally do not require any oil to cook food in the device. You can add oil to your food to enhance the taste by spraying your food with a little oil from the oil atomiser.
  • Cooking times are dependent on the size and quantity of the food and on the cooking temperature. However, in general the cooking times are shorter than in a conventional oven. Start with shorter cooking times and then adapt the cooking times to your personal taste.
  • For the preparation of frozen products, follow the time and temperature specifications of the manufacturer. To get a crispy result, never add fat when preparing massproduced frozen products as they have generally already been pre-fried. The preparation time may be slightly shorter than in a conventional oven. Check whether your food is already fully cooked before the stated cooking time has expired.
  • With some food (e. g. chips and similar items) it is advisable to mix the food around from time to time to obtain an even cooking result.

USING THE DEVICE AND PREPARING FOOD

CONTINENTAL EDISON CEFRSH1350B - USING THE DEVICE AND PREPARING FOOD - 1

PLEASE NOTE!

  • Do not place food that is still packed in plastic wrap or plastic bags in the device.
  • Make sure that the drawer has been inserted correctly! The device cannot be switched on if the drawer is not inserted correctly.
  • Do not leave the device unattended during use.
  • Make sure that the food does not come into contact with the heating element of the device.
  • Do not overfill the drawer so that the hot air can circulate optimally inside the cooking chamber. It should be no more than 2/3 full.
  • The drawer is hot after being removed from the device! Only ever place it on a heat-resistant surface!
  • Do not use the device if it has malfunctioned, fallen or been dropped in water. Have it checked in a specialist workshop before using it again.

CONTINENTAL EDISON CEFRSH1350B - PLEASE NOTE! - 1

  • In general, you can prepare all dishes that can also be prepared in a conventional fan oven. For good results, readthrough the “Tips” chapter.
    • We recommend always using the device with a rack so that the hot air can circulate ptimally inside the cooking chamber.

  • Insert the rack (6) into the drawer (8).

  • Place the food that is to be prepared into the drawer.
  • Insert the drawer into the device.
  • Use the field Ⓗ (21) to select the program you want or stay on the preset Manual program (see the "Operation" chapter – "Operating Elements and Functions"). If necessary, adjust the temperature and the timer time individually using the relevant ∧ and ∨ fields (see the "Operation" chapter – "Operating Elements and Functions").
  • Start the selected program by touching the field ⏻ (20). The device starts to heat up.

CONTINENTAL EDISON CEFRSH1350B - PLEASE NOTE! - 2

The temperature and the timer time can also be adjusted during the cooking process.

  1. Once the set timer time has elapsed, the supply of heat is ended automatically. Two beeps indicate the end of the cooking process. The device reverts to the default display and setting (Manual program and "180 °C" on the display).

CONTINENTAL EDISON CEFRSH1350B - PLEASE NOTE! - 3

By touching the field ⬤ during the cooking process, it can be manually aborted at any time.

  1. Pull the drawer out of the device by the handle (7) and place the drawer down on a heat-resistant, non-slip surface. Beware of burns! The drawer and the food which is prepared are hot! Use oven gloves.
  2. Remove the food.
  3. Allow the device to cool down and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket.

  • Do not use any toxic, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or scouring sponges to clean the device. These may damage the surface.

Clean the device and the used accessories immediately after each use to prevent germ formation. Do not allow any food residues to dry on.

  1. Pull the drawer (8) out of the device.
  2. If you have not already done so, empty the drawer.

RECIPE IDEAS

Notes on Cooking Time and Cooking Temperature

Be aware that the preset cooking temperatures and cooking times are averages. As ingredients differ due to their origin, size, shape and brand, we cannot guarantee the optimum setting for the ingredients. The actual cooking times may therefore vary depending on the portion size. Make sure prior to serving that the food is fully cooked through!

Homemade Chips

Ingredients:

Potatoes (waxy)

A little oil (if necessary)

To taste

Salt

Preparation:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into sticks of equal size.
  2. Thoroughly wash the potato sticks and then dry them off.
  3. If necessary, add a little oil and mix in.

CONTINENTAL EDISON CEFRSH1350B - Preparation: - 1

It is not essential to add oil. However, adding oil will make the chips crispier and give them a more intense flavour.

Tips:

  • Mix your favourite herbs and spices into the oil before adding it. This will allow you for example to prepare tasty curry or paprika-flavoured chips. There are no limits to your imagination.
  • Depending on how thick you cut your potatoes, you can vary between potato wedges and thick or thin chips. The thicker the potatoes are cut, the longer the cooking time.
  • Use waxy potatoes. Young potatoes contain more water and therefore take longer to cook and it is possible that they may not go as crispy.
  • Wash the chopped-up potatoes with cold, clear water to remove any excess starch in the potatoes. IMPORTANT: Then thoroughly dry the potatoes. The less moisture is present, the crispier the chips will become.
  • Preboiled potatoes will cook more evenly! Cut the potatoes into small sticks and preboil them for around five minutes. This will prevent the chips from being crispy on the outside but not fully cooked on the inside.
