USER MANUAL Rainbow SIMOGAS
is appliance must be installed in compliance with prevailing regulations and is for outdoor use only. is installation, operating, and maintenance manual must be read before using the appliance. We recommend to keep this manual in a visible and accessible place for future reference. Before installation we recommend to verify the condition of the appliance to ensure that no transport damage has occurred. e user MUST NOT interfere with parts that have been protected by the manufacturer and his agent. Any modication of the appliance may be dangerous. e manufacturer is not responsible for any user’s interference with the appliance. ese instructions are for installation, operating, and maintenance of the appliance. ese instructions are only valid if the symbol of your country is displayed on the appliance. If there is no respective symbol displayed on the appliance, it is important to consult the technical instructions, which contain all necessary information needed to adapt to your country’s requirements. is appliance is for outdoor installation and use only: Any modication of the appliance may be dangerous. For installation on a non combustible surface suitable to high temperatures only. Ensure that the gas of use matches the kind of gas indicated on the label, which is on the appliance and for which the manufacturer has set the appliance. Ensure that the areas below the front and side panels are free from any obstructions that may aect the combustion and/or ventilation. Insects, dry leaves, and other debris may obstruct the venturi burner, which can result in the ow of gas and air mixture being restric- ted or blocked resulting in a backow outside where the combustion should happen. is may result in a re behind the control panel causing serious damage to the plancha barbecue. e venturi burner should be inspected before every use, and also if the following symptoms occur:
1) Any gas smell in combination with a ame pattern that might appear slow and yellow.
2) e plancha does not gain sucient temperature.
3) e plancha heats up in an irregular fashion.
4) One or more burners do not ignite.
Do not use within approx. 60 cm of any ammable structure or surface that may be above, below, behind, or at the sides of the plancha barbecue. e length of a exible gas hose should not exceed 1.5 meters. e hose must be suitable to the gas and pressure performed by the regulator. For use only with a suitable regulator meeting the national standards for the country of use, and which is homologated in relation to the type of gas and pressure of use. For optimal performance, we suggest using a 11 kg propane gas bottle max, or 12.5 kg butane gas bottle in conjunction with its suita- ble regulator and gas hose. Do always keep gas bottles in their upright position. Exchange the gas hose according to the national standards and its requirements. Any modication of the appliance may be dangerous. Parts of this plancha barbecue and its griddle become very hot. We recommend the use of protective gloves during use. EN33 2.WARRANTY is appliance comes with two year manufacturing warranty starting from date of purchase. e following will invalidate your warranty: - 3 years have passed since the manufacturing of the plancha barbecue. - Any disruption subject to normal usage and time. - Any disruption caused by the appliance’s misuse or incorrect operating, or failure to adhere to the instruction manual. - Interference with any warranty condition. - Generally all causes that are not the manufacturer’s fault. - e manufacturer cannot be held responsible for the appliance’s functioning in cases where the user acts without consulting the instruction manual. - Incorrect use invalidates your warranty.
3.UNPACKING THE APPLIANCE
Special care must be taken so that the appliance does not get damaged. Remove it from the box and verify that there are no transport damages. Verify that all parts are complete. If you nd that the appliance is faulty or defect we recommend to con- tact your supplier before you proceed with the installation. 4.IDENTIFICATION Appliance: Gas plancha barbecue Model: RAINBOW 5.SPECIFICATION Gas plancha barbecues are designed to barbecue foods on its griddle. ey are tted with a standardized combustion equip- ment in form of burners that heat up the griddle. At the front, there are control knobs that regulate the ow of gas to the burners. e gas inlet is at the back of the appliance. It is the plancha concept to heat up the plancha griddle by means of a ame that can be regulated, i. e. the combustion of the gas within the burners. 6.ASSEMBLY e plancha barbecue comes pre-assembled apart from those parts that need to be assembled as displayed below:
1. Turn in the legs level to the plancha barbecue and secure with nuts.
PRECAUTIONS WHEN CONNECTING TO THE GAS BOTTLE is plancha barbecue is for use with LPG bottled gas (liquid petroleum gas). Always install, transport, and store gas bottles in their upright position. Ensure that the gas is turned o. Conrm all barbecue control knobs are in the o position. Connect the regulator to the gas hose. Connect the gas hose to the designated gas inlet. Do not over tighten. e hose should hang freely with no bends, twisting, tension, folds, or kinks that could obstruct free ow of gas. Replace the gas hose whenever required by national standards. e length of a exible gas hose should not exceed 1.5 meters. e hose must be suitable to the gas and pressure performed by the regulator. e regulator supplies gas with a pressure of 28/30mbar in case of butane gas, and with 37mbar when used with propane to the plancha barbecue in these countries of use: BE, ES, FR, IE, IT, PT, GB, CH. e regulator supplies gas with a pressure of 50mbar in both cases butane or propane gas to the plancha barbecue in these countries of use: DE, AT, CH . Change gas bottle far from any source of inammation. Check for leaks by brushing a solution of ½ water and ½ liquid detergent / soap over all the gas system joints, including the gas bottle valve connection, hose connections, and regulator connections. If bubbles form, the gas should be immediately turned o at the bottle. EN35
LIGHTING THE PLANCHA BARBECUE
Do not store ammable materials near this appliance. Install the plancha barbecue on a surface that is not combustible and resistant to high temperatures. Before operating the plancha barbecue it is necessary to familiarise yourself with the control panel as shown below: Once familiarised you can proceed to lighting the plancha barbecue as indicated here:
1. Open the gas bottle.
2. Lighting the plancha barbecue:
2.1. Push and turn the lemost control knob to the high position. 2.2. Press the ignition button rapidly several times. 2.3. Keep the control knob pushed in for several seconds. 2.4. Aer successful lighting, regulate the burner to the required heat by turning the knob to the high or small setting.
3. Turning o the plancha barbecue: When you have nished using your plancha barbecue, turn all the control knobs
4. For safety, switch o the gas supply at the bottle.
- Always turn o the gas for maintenance, cleaning, or when repairing.
- Any modication, elimination, or failure to do maintenance on no matter which part increases the risk of accidents. We recommend regular inspections.
- e manufacturer is not responsible for any damage resulting from operating an appliance with parts that have been modied, eliminated, or failed to maintain without the manufacturer’s previous and explicit agreement.
- e user MUST NOT interfere with parts that have been adjusted by the manufacturer and his agent. Cleaning thoroughly aer every use will guarantee perfect performance and longevity of the appliance. It is fundamental to treat the plancha barbecue and its accessories properly as they have been manufactured with best quality materials, which can be well maintained with products that are easily available. ere are two cleaning methods: rstly, a daily or partial one, and secondly, a total or weekly cleaning procedure. It is not ne- cessary to use abrasive agents for either of those as there are many products readily available that dissolve grease and residues without damaging the appliance. NEVER use a high-pressure cleaner. Our plancha appliances are made so that they can be easily dismantled thus providing for easy storage and cleaning. BURNERS At least once a week take o the plancha griddle. is gives way to the burners located underneath. Brush o any residues on top of the burners that may obstruct the gas exits. Once assured that the burners have been cleaned correctly, return the griddle to its initial position. Also make sure that the venturi nozzles are completely clean and that the air inlets and gas exits are in perfect condition. Clean its surfaces.
STAINLESS STEEL PARTS
e plancha body is made of stainless steel, which is of highest quality and longevity. Using a respective cleaner regularly will guarantee that it stays in perfect condition. EN37 PLANCHA GRIDDLE It is important to keep the griddle surface clean from all residues, also during use. For this it is important to keep the gridd- le always covered with food and lubricants of room temperature (food oil, fat, butter etc.). Leovers can be pushed into the liquid tray so that the griddle surface is used in perfect condition. At the end of your cooking session, and aer it has entirely cooled, go over it with an oily paper towel to keep the surface seasoned and to avoid oxidation. We recommend to clean the plancha griddle and the liquid container with a mild cream cleaner on a non-abrasive pad at least once a week . In case the burners do not operate well aer such cleaning procedure (yellow or excessively high ame), it is necessary to inspect the injectors and their connections. If the symptoms persist, you need to dismantle the plancha barbecue in order to discard residues that may have got locked inside the combustion areas. We recommend to have this done by an authorized specialist. If the plancha barbecue is not in use, close the gas valve at the gas bottle, and if you store the plancha barbecue inside, dis- connect the gas bottle as it needs to be stored outside in a well-ventilated area. If you do not disconnect the plancha barbecue from the gas bottle, both plancha and gas bottle need to be stored outside in a well-ventilated area. B: Gas exit to injector. e gas tap needs to be greased if you notice that the know can only be turned with excessive force. 1.Pull o the respective knob to access the tap. 2.Clean it with a soapy cloth. 3.Apply some light greasing oil taking care NOT TO OBSTRUCT THE GAS FLOW. 4.Turn the tap several times. 5.Repeat the cleaning and greasing process. 6.Re-assemble the parts.
PARTS THAT MAY NEED REPLACING
e thermocouple and safety valve are parts that are likely to need replacement. Such work needs to be executed by a qualied technician. - Burners don’t ignite Most probably there is not enough fuel in the system. Aer verifying that the gas bottle was actually opened proceed by closing it. en change the gas bottle.
- Yellow ame or black gas aer igniting: e venturi burner may be obstructed, so clean it rst. If the problem persists, contact your local dealer.
- Flame goes o aer keeping the control knob pressed in its vertical, i. e. high ame position for more than 15 seconds: ermocouple may be defect. Please contact your local dealer. EN39
