Frequently Asked Questions - Delisia EB 8680 GRUNDIG

How to use the Grundig Delisia EB 8680 egg cooker?
Fill the water cup to the desired marking (140 ml max), pour the water into the water tank. Pierce a small hole on the top of each egg using the provided needle, place the eggs in the compartment with the hole facing up. Close the lid, plug in the appliance, and press the power button. The appliance stops automatically when the water has evaporated.
How to clean the egg cooker?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Clean the parts with a damp cloth. For descaling, use a mixture of half water, half white vinegar in the water tank, run the appliance, then rinse thoroughly.
What to do if the appliance does not turn on?
Check that the plug is properly connected and the power button is pressed. Make sure there is enough water in the water tank. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
How long does it take to cook eggs?
Cooking time depends on the desired doneness and the amount of water. Generally, with 140 ml of water, allow about 10-15 minutes for soft-boiled eggs, 15-20 minutes for medium-boiled eggs, and 20-25 minutes for hard-boiled eggs.
Can I use the appliance without water?
No, the appliance is equipped with dry-run protection, but it should never be used without water. This could damage the appliance.
How to pierce the eggs correctly?
Use the needle located at the bottom of the water cup to pierce a small hole on the top of the egg (the wider part). Then place the egg in the compartment with the hole facing up. This prevents the shell from cracking during cooking.
What to do if a lot of steam escapes?
This is normal; the steam vent is designed to release steam. Never cover the vent and keep hands away to avoid burns.
Is the appliance suitable for children?
The appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above under supervision. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning should not be performed by children under 8 years of age without supervision.
How to know if the eggs are cooked?
The appliance turns off automatically when all the water has evaporated. You can also carefully open the lid to check the consistency of the egg. Use gloves to avoid burns.
Where to find spare parts?
Contact Grundig customer service or an authorized dealer. Accessories like the water cup or lid can be ordered separately.
