USER MANUAL TG7010 KRUPS
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Please read these instructions for use carefully before using your appliance for the first time and keep them to hand for future reference. This appliance is intended for domestic household use only. It is not intended to be used in the following applications, and the guarantee will not apply for: - staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; - farm houses; - by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; - bed and breakfast type environments. Any commercial use, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the guarantee will not apply. Never leave the appliance unattended when in use. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by an adult responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. supervised or if they have received instructions as to how to use of appliance safely and they understand the implicit risks. Children shall not play with the appliance. Children should not clean or perform maintenance procedures on the appliance unless they are supervised by a responsible adult. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years. Children must not use the appliance as a toy. Accessible surface temperatures can be high when the appliance is operating. Never touch the hot surfaces of the appliance. Make sure that the electric power supply is compatible with the power rating and voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance. This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system. Any connection error will invalidate your guarantee. Given the diverse standards in effect, if the appliance is used in a country other than that in which it is purchased, have it checked by an Approved Service Centre. The power supply cord should be regularly examined for signs of damage, and if the cord is damaged, the appliance must not be used. Do not use your appliance if it does not operate correctly, if it has been damaged or if the power cord or plug is damaged. device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA. Remove all packaging materials, stickers and accessories from the inside and the outside of the appliance. Fully unwind the power cord before connecting the appliance. If it is necessary to use an extension lead ensure that it is of suitable construction and power rating, with an earth connection; take all necessary precautions to prevent anyone tripping over an extension cord. Never immerse the appliance and cord in water or any other liquid. The appliance is to be connected to a socket-outlet having an earthing contact. This appliance is suitable for outdoor use.
Read the instructions carefully, common to different versions depending on the accessories supplied with your appliance, and keep them within reach. If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary. Before first use, wash the plates (follow paragraph after use), pour a little cooking oil onto the plates and wipe with a soft cloth. Refer to paragraph "After use - cleaning". Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area. Position the power cord carefully, whether an extension is used or not, so that guests can move freely around the table without tripping over it. Always use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damaging the cooking plate. DO NOT Never leave the appliance unattended when plugged in or in use. To prevent the appliance from overheating, do not place it in a corner or against a wall. Never place the appliance directly on a fragile surface (glass table, tablecloth, varnished furni- ture, etc.) or on a soft surface such as a tea-towel. Thank you for buying this Krups appliance, which is intended for domestic use only. Krups has an ongoing policy of research and development and may modify these products without prior notice. For your safety, this appliance conforms to all applicable standards and regulations (Low Voltage Di- rective, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Food Compliant Materials, Environment, …). On first use, there may be a slight odour and a little smoke during the first few minutes; this is normal and will quickly disappear. The grill/Plancha has two independent, non-removable, heating surfaces which can be used together or separately. ADVICE/INFORMATION Explanatory drawings are at the end of this leaflet (page 68). Place your appliance on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface. Connection and pre-heating Check that the thermostats - C are in the mini position , then plug the cord into an earthed socket. Fig 1 - The two red lights will light up, they will remain lit to show that the grill is plugged into a power source. Fig 2 - Pre-heat the grill(s)/plancha(s) by turning the thermostat selector(s) to the maximum position for approximately 15 minutes. The orange signal light(s) will turn on while the device is being heated. Fig 3 - The orange signal light(s) will switch off as soon as the iron has reached the selected temperature. You can now place food on the grill/plancha. After pre-heating, the appliance is ready for use.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Do not touch the metal parts of the appliance when it is heating or operating, as they are very hot. Use the side handles - Fig 4. Do not move the hot appliance when in use. Do not use aluminium foil or other objects between the plate and the food being cooked. Do not place cooking utensils on the cooking surfaces of the appliance. Do not cook food in aluminium foil. Do not remove the juice collection tray while cooking. If the juice collection tray becomes full when cooking: let the appliance cool down before emptying. Never cut food directly on the plates. To avoid spoiling your product, do not use flambé recipes in connection with it at any time. Do not use metal scourers or scouring powders to avoid damaging the cooking surface (e.g.: non-stick coating, ...). Do not leave the appliance in direct sunlight or outside in winter. Cooking Tips for better cooking results Increase or decrease the cooking temperature to adapt it to your taste and the type of food cooked (quantity, thickness). Before you start cooking, wait for the orange light signal to switch off: this will indicate that the grill pan has reached the selected cooking temperature. For best results and to minimize sticking, be sure to always cook on a clean grilling surface. A brush and a scraper are included with the grill pan. Please wait for 2 hours until the pan cools down and use the brush and scraper to remove all residues and move them towards the centre, so they fall into the juice tray - Fig 5. After use - cleaning Place the thermostat in the mini position . Unplug from the mains socket. Leave the appliance to cool down. Make sure that the grill pan has been unplugged for at least 2 hours and that it is cold before you start to clean it. Do not pour water on the grill pan while it is hot.
Warning: cleaning brush included may melt if used on warm grill. The supplied scraper could melt if
it is used on a hot grill pan. - Fig 5. The removable splatter shield - A and the juice collection tray - D are dishwasher safe. After having pushed the residues through the opening for the juice collection tray with the brush or scraper provided, the cooking grill and the body of the appliance should be cleaned with a sponge, hot water and a little washing-up liquid - Fig 5. Do not use oven cleaners or products containing chlorine or bleach. Do not use an abrasive pad. Do not use metal scouring pads or scouring powder. The base of the appliance and the cord is not dishwasher safe. To clean the grill/the plancha exterior : - if need be, polish using a stainless steel cleaner, - ensure the stainless steel cleaner is approved for household cooking appliances and follow the in- structions for use on the polish; then wipe over the outside of the grill/the plancha with a damp sponge. - do not use harsh detergents or scouring pads on the exterior of the grill/the plancha as this may damage it. Environment protection first! Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. Leave it at a local civic waste collection point.
