Frequently Asked Questions - GLN 2500 K Adventys

What types of pans can be used on the Adventys GLN 2500 K?
Use induction-compatible cookware: enamelled steel, cast iron, suitable stainless steel. The base must be flat and between 160 and 280 mm in diameter. To check, place the pan on the hob at 300 W: if the display remains steady, it is compatible. Glass, ceramic, aluminium (without special base), copper or non-magnetic stainless steel containers do not work.
How to clean the glass-ceramic surface?
For light soiling, use a sanitary sponge with hot water. For ingrained dirt (sugar, melted aluminium), use a special glass scraper then a special glass-ceramic cleaner. For limescale marks, apply hot vinegar. Never use abrasive products.
What to do if an error code (ER.XX) is displayed?
Codes ER.01 to ER.06, ER.13 to ER.18, ER.29, ER.31 indicate a technical fault requiring service intervention. For ER.07 (IGBT temperature too high) or ER.08 (glass-ceramic sensor blocked), press the On/Off button to acknowledge the fault or unplug/replug the appliance. If the code persists, contact customer service.
Can I use the hob if the glass-ceramic is cracked?
No, if a crack appears, immediately disconnect the appliance (remove fuses or trip the circuit breaker) to avoid electric shock. Do not use the hob until the glass-ceramic has been replaced by a professional.
How to clean the filter under the appliance?
Unplug the appliance before removing the filter. Clean it about once a week with soapy water or in the dishwasher. Put it back dry before any further use. This filter protects the appliance from dust and grease.
What minimum distance should be maintained around the appliance?
Leave at least 100 mm space between the product and its surroundings to ensure proper ventilation. Never remove the feet, they are essential for cooling.
Is the appliance compatible with pacemakers?
This appliance generates electromagnetic fields with short range. Wearers of pacemakers or active implants must maintain a minimum distance of 305 mm (12 inches) from the hob. The appliance complies with current standards.
How to set the temperature in degrees Celsius?
Use the knob or control keys to select the temperature. The range is from 30°C to 250°C in 5°C increments. The display shows the temperature in °C when in temperature mode.
What to do if the hob does not detect the pan?
If the display flashes after placing a pan, it means the cookware is not induction-compatible or its base is too small (less than 160 mm). Use suitable cookware and centre it well on the cooking zone.
How to install the Adventys GLN 2500 K electrically?
Plug the appliance into a dedicated power outlet with a suitable 16 A circuit breaker, protected by a 30 mA type A residual current device. Do not use a multi-socket. If the plug does not match the socket, call a qualified electrician.

Pans

Your induction cooking appliance is able to recognize most containers.

Container test :

Place your container on the cooking hob with the power level set on the 300W position:

If the indicator 300W remains fixed, your container is compatible, if it flashes, your container is not recognized and cannot be used.

The induction-compatible containers are:

- Containers in enameled steel with or without non-stick coating.

- Containers in cast iron with or without enameled bottom. An enameled bottom prevents the glass top of your appliance from being scratched.

- Stainless steel containers suitable for induction. Most stainless steel containers are suitable if they meet the container test. (saucepan, stockpan, frying pan, chip fryer, etc.)

• NOTE

Glass, ceramic or clay, aluminum (without special bottom), copper and some non-magnetic stainless steel containers are incompatible with induction cooking.

The level indicator of the selected power will flash to inform you.

You should choose pans with thick and flat bottoms, which guarantee more even cooking (the heat is better distributed).

Preserve and maintain your appliance

Adventys GLN 2500 K - Preserve and maintain your appliance - 1

Avoid hitting it with pans.

The glass top is very tough but it is not unbreakable.

Avoid rubbing containers on the top of the appliance. They can, in the long run, degrade the printing on the vitroceramic glass.

Avoid using containers with rough or dented bottoms.

They can retain and transport materials which may cause stains or scratches on the vitroceramic glass.

Centre your container on the cooking area.

Do not leave an empty container on the cooking hob.

Do not heat a closed tin can. It may explode.

Do not preheat food on the maximum set power level when you use a container with a non-stick inside coating (Teflon) without liquid or with very little fat.

The maximum power level is reserved for boiling and frying.

All these faults which do not lead to non-functioning or inability to be used, do not fall within the framework of the warranty.
