When the device is put into operaon for the rst me, check the intactness of the product and the funcon again. The aplic charger is intended for micropro- cessor-controlled charging of NiMH baeries. The four independent charging slots can accommodate and control baeries of type AA and AAA at the same me. • Minus Delta U charging compleon detecon9English the respecve slot in the visual form of a baery symbol with four charging bars (1 bar ~ 25%). A blinking bar means that the respecve charging level has not yet been reached. A constantly glowing bar indicates that the charging level has been reached. If the charging process is completed in a baery slot, then this is indicated using the baery symbol showing four full bars glowing constantly. Baeries are charged with a charging current of 200mA for AAA type baeries and with 450mA for AA type baeries. The charging current is automacally selected by the charger aer detecng what type of baery has been inserted.

Take the device out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Connect the charger to a properly installed 230V AC socket. You can then insert the desired type of baery (AA or AAA) into the charger. Cauon! Charge only rechargeable baeries. Please do not use non-rechargeable baeries! As soon as one or more baeries are inserted, the power supply unit automacally detects whether the inserted baery type is AA or AAA and automacally adjusts the charging current. Please also ensure that the baery type to be charged is NiMH and not NiCd or any other baery type. It may be that completely discharged or defecve baeries cannot be recharged. In such cases, the display shows a "BAD" symbol. During the charging process, the word "CHARGE" is shown in the display. Once the baeries are completely charged, the word "READY" is shown in the display. You can then remove the baeries. If required, you can charge more baeries.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance

Disconnect the device from the mains and make sure that it is not carrying any current. Wipe it using a dry and so cloth. Please do not use aggressive cleaning agents.10 English

6. Safety instrucons and liability disclaimer

Never try to open the device to carry out repairs or conversions. Avoid contact with mains voltages. Do not short-circuit the product. The device is not cered for use in the open air; only use it in dry condions. Protect it from high humidity, water and snow. Keep it away from high temperatures. Do not subject the de- vice to sudden changes in temperature or heavy vibraon as this might damage electronic components. Examine the device for damage before using it. The unit should not be used if it has received an impact or has been damaged in any other way. Please observe naonal regulaons and restricons. Do not use the device for purposes other than those described in the instrucons. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children or mentally impaired persons. Any repair or alteraon to the device not carried out by the original supplier, will invalidate the warranty or guarantee. The product may only be used by persons who have read and understood these instrucons. The device specicaons may change without any separate prior noce to this eect.

7. Disposal instrucons

Electrical and electronic devices may only be disposed of in accordance with the European WEEE Direcve and not with household rubbish. Components must be disposed of or recycled separately as dangerous, toxic elements can inict sus- tained damage on the environment if they are disposed of incorrectly.
