INSTRUCTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH USE SAFETY

- Read the instructions carefully before use. - Take special care when children are near the device. - Do not use the device for purposes other than those for which it was intended.

Do not immerse the device, cable or charger in water or other liquids. - Do not leave the device unattended during operation. - Always remove the plug from the mains socket when not in use or before cleaning.

Never use a damaged device, including one with a damaged cord or plug, in which case have it repaired at an authorised service centre. - Do not use the device outdoors.

Do not hang the power cable on sharp edges or allow it to come into contact with hot surfaces.

Never fill the kettle above the maximum or minimum level as overfilling it may result with splashing boiling water. - Make sure the kettle is turned off before placing on its base.

Caution ! Burns risk. The kettle housing heats up during oper

ation and maintains a high temperature even after the device is turned off. Do not touch the casing if hot water is present in the kettle.

Warning ! Do not remove/open the kettle lid while water is boiling inside. The lid must remain closed when boiling / pour- ing out water. - The kettle can be used only with the base attached to it. - Do not place the kettle near a heat source or hot surfaces. - The kettle should only be used with the attached filter. - The kettle was produced solely for water boiling. - Use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer may cause damage to the appliance, fire or personal injury. - The device should be put on a dry, flat and stable surface. - The device should be connected to a mains socket outlet with a grounding pin! - The device is intended for domestic use only.20

This equipment may be used by children of at least 8 years of age and by persons of diminished physical, mental capacity and lack of experience and knowledge of the equipment if supervision or instruction is provided regarding the safe use of the equipment so that the hazards involved are understood. Cleaning and main- tenance must not be performed by children, unless they are over 8 years old and supervised by an adult. Unsupervised children can not perform cleaning and maintenance of the product.

The appliance is not a toy and should not be used as such by children.

Keep the device and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years of age. - Do not pull the plug out of the power socket by pulling the cord.

CAUTION ! Risk of electric shock - be careful not to splash electrical components of the ap pliance when operating it. Particular attention should be paid to the jug connector and its base. If electrical components are splashed, clean and dry them thoroughly before using the appliance again. - Do not turn on the kettle without water inside it. - The equipment is not designed to operate using external timers or a separate remote control. - Do not connect the plug to the power socket with wet hands. - Allow the kettle to cool down completely before cleaning it.

In order to remove factory deposits, protective films, etc. that may be present on a brand new device, fill the kettle with water to the maximum level, boil the water and then rinse the device. This operation should be repeated at least 5 times, by proceeding as described below.

1. Remove the kettle from the power base (7) before filling with water.

2. Press the lid opening button (3) to open the lid and fill the kettle up to the desired level (no less

than 0.6 l and no more than 1.7 l). Close the lid carefully (2).

3. Put the kettle on the power base (7). Turn on the kettle with the On/Off switch (5). When the

water starts boiling, the kettle will turn off itself. You can always turn it off sooner with the On/ Off switch.

4. Once the water has boiled or the kettle has been turned off with the On/Off switch, wait for

15 to 20 seconds before turning on the kettle again. If the kettle is turned on without any water in it, the overtemperature safety will turn off the kettle. If this happens, put the kettle away to cool down for 15 minutes before filling with water.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Clean the kettle frequently of limescale. Use limescale removing chemicals dedicated to electric kettles (and use the instructions for use of the chemical) or a mixture of water with vinegar or citric acid. Failure to descale the kettle may result in its failure. Wipe the kettle clean inside and out with a cloth. Do not clean with a wire brush, scouring pads or strong detergents..22
