Frequently Asked Questions - IAN 310831 CRIVIT

How to choose the correct mask size?
Measure the distance between the root of your nose and the bottom of your chin, with mouth closed. For a distance of 10 to 11.5 cm, choose size S/M; for 11.5 to 13 cm, choose L/XL. Ensure the mask is watertight by placing it on your face without the snorkel and inhaling: it should stay in place.
Can I use this mask for scuba diving?
No, this mask is designed exclusively for surface snorkeling. It is not suitable for diving as no decompression system is provided. Use it only at the water surface.
How to attach the snorkel to the mask?
Position the snorkel onto the mask frame until it clicks into place. To remove, press the frame button and pull the snorkel off.
How to expel water that has entered the mask?
The mask has a flush valve. Breathe out quickly and forcefully inside the mask to expel water through the valve.
Can I install prescription lenses in the mask?
Yes, if you need vision correction, you can have prescription lenses installed by an optician or a specialized dealer. Follow their advice to avoid damaging the mask.
How to clean and maintain the mask?
After each use, remove the snorkel and rinse both parts with fresh water. Let them dry completely. Never use harsh detergents. Store the mask in a dry, clean place at room temperature.
Does the mask protect against UV rays?
Yes, the screen offers 100% UV protection, absorbing all harmful ultraviolet rays. However, avoid looking directly at the sun.
Is this mask suitable for children?
No, this mask is category A, designed for people with large lung capacity. It is not recommended for children. For children, choose a category B product.
What does the Aquastop system mean?
The snorkel is equipped with an Aquastop system with an internal float. In case of accidental submersion, the float closes the snorkel to prevent water from entering. Before each use, ensure the float moves freely.
What is the lifespan of the mask and what does the warranty cover?
The mask should be replaced no later than five years after the manufacturing date (01/2019). The warranty is 3 years from the date of purchase and covers material and manufacturing defects. Keep the receipt.

Safety instructions

KEEP ALL SAFETY AND OTHER INSTRUCTIONS HANDY FOR FUTURE USE! CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY!

WARNING. Do not use for extensive swimming or swimming practice!

  • The product may be used only at the water surface. Not suitable for diving since no pressure compensation is possible.
    • The product is intended only for persons with a high lung capacity.
  • The mask body may only be used in conjunction with the snorkel attached.
  • All use of the product requires precise knowledge of and compliance with the instructions for use.
  • Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material. There is danger of suffocation.

  • Check the product before use each time for any damage. Discontinue use of the product if you notice damage to the body of the mask, headband, or snorkel.

  • The orange top of the snorkel may not be removed. Its purpose is to make it easier for other water sports enthusiasts (e.g. boaters) to see you. It is also an important component part without which the snorkel no longer functions.
  • The snorkel is designed to reduce the amount of surface water splash that gets in. It also has an "Aquastop System" with an internal float gauge that closes if you inadvertently dive below the surface. Before using each time make sure that the float gauge in the snorkel is moving freely.
  • Do not expose the product to any extreme temperatures or severe mechanical stress.
  • Before using make sure that hair, jewellery items, clothes, etc. do not come between the snorkel mask and your face otherwise the product does not fit tightly and water can get in.
  • Never pull the snorkel mask away from your face because it may snap back and cause injury to your eyes.
  • Avoid looking directly into the sun.
  • Should eyes or skin become irritated, discontinue use of the product.
  • The product's service life depends on how it is used. However, the product must be replaced max. five years after the date of manufacture (01/2019).
  • The tightness of the snorkel mask depends on the fit and size of the seal against the face. The headband secures the snorkel mask and should therefore be tightened just enough to allow it to sit comfortably.
  • Get used to using the product gradually. Do not wear it for too long at first. If you become tired take the product off immediately.
  • To avoid heat build-up under the snorkel mask or fogging, it should be taken off briefly from time and aired out when outside temperatures are elevated.
