APPLIANCE DESCRIPTION A Lever press arm Thanks to the solid metal lever press arm, you can exert optimal pressure on the fruit and extract the juice without any effort: as soon as the fruit is pressed against the juicing cone, the automatic start-up is triggered. The arm is furnished with a soft-touch handle. Caution: Do not apply too much pressure to prevent the motor from being overloaded. The juicing process cannot be accelerated by increasing the pressure. B Dust cover The transparent cover can option- ally be mounted between the press arm and the pressing cone and protects the closed appliance from dirt and dust when the locking lever is locked or during storage; suitable for dishwashers. C Pressing cone The pressing cone can be easily removed and reinstalled for clean- ing; it is suitable for dishwashers. To remove the cone, turn it to the right until it comes to a stop and remove it from the press arm. To mount the pressing cone, proceed in reversed order. D Juicing cone Massive juicing cone made from heavy die-cast aluminium; extracts the maximum amount of juice regardless of the size of the citrus fruit. E Pulp filter with little openings for small amounts of pulp in the juice Made from stainless steel; suitable for dishwashers. F Juice collection tray Collects the fruit juice and lets it run through the juice spout into the provided glass or container; suitable for dishwashers. G Juice spout Can be folded up after juicing to prevent juice from dripping out. H Motor unit Made from die-cast aluminium, with a powerful 360 watt motor and seven rubber feet for high stability. I Drip tray The removable drip tray can be detached from the motor unit for easy cleaning; suitable for dish- washers. J Pulp filter with large openings for large amounts of pulp in the juice Made from stainless steel; suitable for dishwashers. K Locking lever Thanks to the locking lever, you can store the appliance saving space with the lever press arm folded down and the dust cover in place. This way, the appliance is protected and shielded from dust. L ON/OFF switch with function light M Cord storage compartment Using the cord spool underneath the motor base, the power cord can be stored safe and saving space. GBGB GB
Before using the appliance for the first time, please wash the dust cover, the pressing cone, the juicing cone, the two pulp filters, the carrier, the drip tray and the juice collection tray with the spout in warm dishwater with a soft dish- washing rag. For more information, please refer to the sections “Disassembling the appliance” on page 69 and “Cleaning and maintenance” on page 71 of this manual. carrier
ASSEMBLING THE APPLIANCE
1. Make sure that the power plug is not connected to the power socket.
2. Set the locking lever on the hinge of the press arm downwards (to the 6 o'clock
position), the press arm folds upwards.
3. Place the carrier over the drive shaft.
4. Place the juice collection tray over the carrier resp. the drive shaft of the motor
base. Make sure that the juice spout is placed in the half-round opening on the front of the motor casing.
5. Now, place one of the two pulp filters in the juice collection tray. The angular
bulge in the middle part of the sieve must be located above the angular nose of the juice collection tray so that both parts fit into each other congruently (both parts are located on opposite sides of the press arm).
6. Now place the juice cone on the carrier resp. the drive shaft, it slides downwards
7. To mount the pressing cone to the lever press arm, press the connection piece
of the pressing cone gently into the fixture at the bottom of the lever. Turn the pressing cone counterclockwise until it comes to a stop, so that the connection piece is screwed into the fixture. Hint: If you want to attach the dust cover as well, place the opening of the cover over the connection piece of the pressing cone. The noses of the connection piece must slide into the recesses of the cover opening.
8. Place the drip tray in the appliance base.
9. Make sure that the spout is folded down, meaning it is in the correct position
10. The appliance is ready for use once you connect the power cord to a suitable
power socket and switch the appliance on with the ON/OFF switch.GB GB
1. Check if the Solis Citrus Press Station has been assembled correctly in the
2. Cut the citrus fruit in two halves. To squeeze juice more effectively, you should
cut the fruit laterally, not lengthwise from end to end. Note: Some citrus fruits, e.g. mandarines, might have thicker ends. To ensure optimal contact to the juicing cone, it is recommended to clip the pointed ends with a knife.
3. Plug the power plug into a suitable wall outlet. Switch the appliance on with
the ON/OFF switch (position I), the orange function light in the switch lights up. Now, place a glass or another container under the juice spout.
4. Place one half of the citrus fruit, with the cut side facing down, on the juicing
cone and press the fruit onto the spike of the juicing cone. Caution: If you apply too much pressure, you engage the automatic activation and the juicing cone starts rotating!
5. Take the lever handle of the press arm and push the lever press arm down slowly
in one smooth movement, until the squeezing cone comes into contact with the fruit skin. Once this contact is made and some pressure is applied, the motor will start automatically and the juicing cone will begin spinning. The juice is squeezed from the fruit and runs through the juice spout into the glass resp. the container. The pulp and the pips are collected in the pulp filter.
6. As the Solis Citrus Press Station works very effectively, it will only take a few
seconds until one fruit half is juiced. After a short time, you can return the lever press arm into the highest position and the motor will stop automatically.
7. Take the squeezed-out fruit half from the juicing cone and, if necessary, empty
out the pulp filter resp. repeat steps 4 to 6 to juice the other fruit halves. Caution:
Do not apply too high pressure to the press arm, the pressure should not exceed 3 kg. Press for a maximum of 15 seconds and then stop applying pressure for 15 seconds.
If the appliance has been in use for 10 minutes, you should take a break of 10 minutes in any case. Notes:
Thanks to the two different pulp filters, you can choose between having less or more pulp in your juice. More pulp: Select the pulp filter with the large holes (J). Less pulp: Select the pulp filter with the small holes (E).
The pulp filter should be emptied once it is filled with pulp and pips.
If you want to empty the pulp filter while juicing, switch the appliance off with the ON/OFF switch, pull the power plug, set the lever press arm to the highest position and carefully remove the juicing cone and the pulp filter. Empty and rinse the filter and the juicing cone and reinstall both parts in the appliance before plugging it back in and switching it on to continue juicing.
The pulp filter should never be too full, as this hinders the appliance from func- tioning optimally resp. might cause damage to it.
Should the diameter of the fruit you wish to juice seem too large or too small for the pressing cone, the fruit can still be placed on the juicing cone and be pressed onto the juicing cone by hand to start the juicing rotation. The lever press arm can remain in its folded-up position. Like this, practically all citrus fruits can be juiced.
DISASSEMBLING THE APPLIANCE
1. Always switch the appliance off with the ON/OFF switch (position 0) first and
disconnect the power plug from the power socket.
2. Push the lever press arm up, away from the motor base, until it reaches the
highest position. Close the juice spout by folding it up into the no-drip position.
3. Hold the lever press arm and remove the pressing cone and, if mounted, the
dust cover by turning the pressing cone out of the lever press arm in a clockwise motion and taking it off.
4. Carefully lift the juice collection tray with the pulp filter and the juicing cone.
Remove the juicing cone and the pulp filter from the juice collection tray over a sink so that the pulp leftovers can be easily removed.
5. Take the drip tray out of the appliance.
6. Clean the single parts as described in the “Cleaning and Care” section on page
Note: Should a little bit of juice drip onto the work surface, please always wipe it off immediately to prevent the surface from being damaged.71 GB GB
Before disassembling or cleaning the appliance, please always check if the plug has been pulled. Of course, this also applies if you want to reassemble or store the appliance.
As described below, all surfaces and appliance parts that come into contact with foods while juicing should be cleaned carefully.
We recommend rinsing all removable parts (drip tray, juice collection tray with juice spout, pulp filter, juicing cone, pressing cone – potentially with dust cover – and carrier) immediately after use in warm water to remove the still-wet pulp and the pips. Let all parts air dry before reassembling them.
For thorough cleaning, all removable parts should be cleaned in warm dishwater. All removable parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
The motor base and the lever press arm should be thoroughly cleaned with a slightly moist cloth. Let all parts dry completely before reassembling them. Never submerge the motor base, the power cord or the power plug in water or other liquids. Notes:
Rinse or clean all removable appliance parts immediately after use. Dried citrus fruit pulp is difficult to remove and might cause stains. Should any stains appear, wipe the affected areas clean with undiluted dishwashing liquid and a moist cloth. Rinse the accessories and dry everything carefully.
Do not place the pulp filter or the other removable parts in bleach. For sterilisa- tion, the appliance parts can not be subjected to high temperatures.
Never use aggressive or scouring detergents or solutions to clean the motor base and the appliance parts – they might scratch the surface.
All removable parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
HINTS Things to know about freshly squeezed fruit juice:
Not only does freshly squeezed fruit juice taste natural, fresh and delicious, most of all it is healthy. Freshly squeezed juice contains a number of important and healthy vitamins and minerals that are quickly absorbed into the bloodstream: In a minimum of time, the body is supplied with vitamins and nutrients. Especially its high content of vitamin C makes the juice of citrus fruits a reliable weapon against coughs, sneezes and the flu.
To preserve the vitamins as best as possible for the body, the juice should be drunk immediately after squeezing it to prevent the precious vitamins from being lost. Things to know about the proper fruit and how to store it:
Only use fresh fruits for juicing.
Select fruits with firm, smooth skin without any spoiled parts.
Mid-sized grapefruit, oranges, lemons and limes are especially easy to juice.
Citrus fruits can be stored in a dry environment at room temperature. If you want to keep the fruits fresh for longer periods of time, storing them in the fridge is recommended.7372 GB GB
TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Solution The appliance does not function. – Was the power plug connected to a working power outlet? – Was the ON/OFF switch set to the position I ? – Was the juicing cone pressed down? – Were juicing cone and pressing cone correctly mounted to the appliance? – Were pulp filter and juice collection tray correctly installed? – The motor overload protection has been triggered. (See below for details) Motor overload protection has been triggered. – To protect the motor, your Solis Citrus Press Station is fitted with overload protection. Should the juicer suddenly stop after prolonged use or when processing fruits that are hard to juice, pull the plug and let the appliance cool down for 15 minutes. Once the appli- ance has cooled down, you can start using it again. – Note: To reset the motor overloading protection, it is vital that the appliance is switched off and the power plug is disconnect! Wait for 10 minutes before recon- necting the appliance to the power mains, switching it on and starting to use it again. – In spite of the newly fitted motor overload protec- tion, we recommend not juicing too many fruits in one go but instead always processing them in smaller amounts. Always take a 10 minute break after having the appliance in use for 10 minutes!
To save space when storing the appliance, we recommend storing the cleaned appliance with the dust cover in place. Press the lever press arm down and lock it in the closed position by turning the locking lever a quarter-turn to the right, to the 4 o’clock position.
Store the cleaned and fully assembled citrus juicer in an upright position at a cool, dark place, best in the original packaging. Do not place anything on the appliance or the packaging while in storage. Locking lever open: The lever press arm is in the upper position. Locking lever closed: The lever press arm is lowered down to the juicing cone.
