1 Useful information
It is essential to follow some simple rules to optimise and make food storage safe:
- Be sure to clean your hands, all the utensils and surfaces to be used to cut and vacuum pack food.
• Wear food-safe gloves to handle food if possible. - Once perishable foods are packaged, refrigerate or freeze immediately. Do not leave them at room temperature.
• Vacuum packaging increases the shelf life of dry foods. Foods that have a high fat content develop rancidity due to oxygen and hot temperature. Store in a cool and dark place. - Canned or vacuum-packed foods on an industrial level can be repackaged in a vacuum after opening them from the original packaging. Follow the instructions for refrigeration after opening and to store the food after vacuum packing it again.

However, pre-packaged food must be consumed by the expiry date indicated on the original packaging of the product.
- Do not defrost foods in boiling water or other heat sources unless they are non-solid foods (such as creams, soups, juices, etc.).
• Vacuum packaging increases the life of dried food. Store it in a cool and dark place. - Soft foods with a delicate structure (such as fish, berries, etc.) must be pre-frozen for one night, before vacuum packing them and storing them in the freezer.
EN
• Vacuum packaging does not extend the shelf life of fruit and vegetables such as apples, bananas, potatoes and root vegetables if they are not peeled before vacuum sealing.
• Vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage emit gas when vacuum-packed for refrigeration. To prepare these foods for vacuum packaging, blanch and freeze.

Preliminary operations
- Remove all packaging components and any labels and dispose of them according to their nature.
• Clean the appliance with a damp cloth to remove dust.
- Place the appliance on a horizontal and stable surface whose surface is not sensitive to high temperatures. Make sure all feet on the base (16) rest on the surface.
• Fully unwind the power cord.
- Remove the rubber protection from the socket (17) (Fig. 1).
- Connect the plug (22) to the appliance socket (17) (Fig. 2).
- Connect the power supply cable (23) to the socket, making sure that the mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the appliance data plate (fig.3).
• The display lights up; the appliance is ready for use.

- At the beginning of vacuum packaging in any container, press lightly on the lid or tube adapter for a few seconds in order to allow proper air extraction air and avoid any air leakage through the space between the lid and the edge top of the container.
- To check the vacuum, simply pull the lid upwards. It should not move.
- Do not press any key during the marinating cycle to avoid interfering in the process.

To prevent air from re-entering the container, we recommend you first remove the connection from the container lid and then the other connection of the vacuum pipe from the appliance

To heat food contained in vacuum containers in the microwave oven, first release the vacuum then remove the lid before inserting it into the microwave to avoid risks.
SEALING BOTTLES
Using a special cap (available on the market) it is possible to vacuum pack red wine, non-carbonated drinks and oil. This process lengthens the life of the liquid and preserves its flavour.
Operate as described for "VACUUM PACKING AND MARINATING IN A CONTAINER".

Do not perform the operation with plastic bottles.
- Do not vacuum pack fizzy or sparkling drinks.

Suggestions for the best vacuum performance
- Do not overfill the bag: leave enough empty space on the open side of the bag so that the bag can be placed in the vacuum chamber area without creating folds or creases;
• Make sure the end of the bag is dry. If the bag is wet, it may be difficult to obtain a hermetic heat seal. If food is moist or the bag is wet, select the MOIST function since the sealing time is longer. - Clean and keep the open end of the bag taut before sealing. Make sure that there is no residue in the area to be sealed and that the film is not wrinkled or creased. Residue and wrinkled film can cause problems in correct sealing.
-
Do not leave too much air in the bag. Before starting the vacuum operation, press the bag to allow more air to escape. Too much air inside the bag increases the load of the vacuum pump and can cause insufficient motor power for complete air extraction.
-
Non confezionare sottovuoto alimenti con estremità appuntite o taglienti quali lische di pesce e gusci duri! Questi possono forare o strappare il film! Per questi alimenti si consiglia l'utilizzo di contenitori.
- Do not vacuum pack foods with pointed or sharp ends such as fish bones and hard shells!
Do not cut or tear the film!
We recommend the use of containers for these foods.
• We recommend you wait at least 1 minute between packing one bag and the next to allow the appliance to cool down. - If for some reason the bag does not reach a vacuum, the appliance switches off automatically after 60 seconds. In this situation, check that the bag has no leaks and that it has been correctly positioned.
• Make sure there are no cracks, deformations or small particles on the seals around the vacuum chamber. If necessary, remove the gaskets, wash and dry them carefully; if damaged, replace them. - During the vacuum packaging process, small amounts of liquids, crumbs or food particles may be inadvertently "sucked" into the vacuum chamber and risk clogging the pump and damaging the appliance. To avoid the above, we recommend you freeze moist or juicy food before packaging it or to put a folded paper towel in the upper part of the bag. For powdered or fine grain food, avoid overfilling the bags.
• Non-solid foods must be cooled before vacuum packaging. - Store perishable foods in the freezer or refrigerator. Vacuum packaging prolongs the life of food products, but does not preserve them.
- Fill a bag with about 2/3 of water, seal it (not in a vacuum) and put it in the freezer. Once frozen, the bag can be used as ice or ice packs.
- Many foods are sold pre-packaged in commercial vacuum bags such as cheese and deli and meats. You can keep the taste and freshness of these foods, repacking them under vacuum after opening the original packaging.
- Foods such as: flour, rice and cake and pancake mixes, stay fresh longer if vacuum-packed. Nuts and seasonings retain their flavour.
• There are many non-food uses for vacuum packaging.
For example:
- camping gear such as matches, first aid kit and clothing can be kept clean and dry.
- signal flares for emergencies can be kept clean and dry.
- preserve silver or collectible items away from stains.
EN
- The main use of this appliance is to preserve the freshness and flavour of a wide range of foods longer; vacuum packaging keeps food fresh up to three times longer than other traditional food storage methods.
Benefits:
a) Cook individual portions or whole meals in advance before vacuum packing. Wait until they have cooled before packing them.
b) Prepare food in advance for picnics and camping trips or barbecues.
c) Eliminate possible freezing burns from food.
d) Vacuum packaging of food products such as meat, fish, poultry and vegetables to freeze them or store them in the refrigerator.
e) Vacuum packaged dry food such as beans, nuts and cereals to preserve them longer.
- The system is ideal for packaging individual ingredients and portions for health care, such as quantity for weight control, diets or nutrition regimens with special needs.
- This storage system can also be used to store and protect other objects such as: valuables, photos, important documents, stamp collections, book collections, jewellery, cards, comics, drugs, patches and other first aid items, etc.
