They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.
- Proper use
The product is intended for measuring the weight of people. The product has a weighing range of up to 180kg . The product is suitable for indoor environment only. The product is intended only for use in a private domestic environment and not for commercial use. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use.

This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

onto the product with wet feet and do not use the product if the platform is moist. You might slip.
Protect your product from impact, moisture, dust, chemicals and sudden changes in temperature and keep it away from sources of heat (ovens, heating radiators).
Check the product for damage before bringing it into use. If the product is damaged do not use it.
- Remove the battery if the product breaks down or is defective. Otherwise the battery is more likely to leak.
Always have any repairs carried out at the service centre or by an electrical equipment repair specialist.

Safety instructions for batteries/rechargeable batteries
DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.
DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge
non-rechargeablebatteries.
Do not short-circuit batteries/ rechargeable batteries and/or
open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result.
- Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into fire or water.
Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries
- Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators / direct sunlight.
If batteries / rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention!

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or
damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.
In the event of a leakage of batteries/rechargeable batteries, immediately remove them from the product to prevent damage.
Only use the same type of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Do not mix used and new batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Remove batteries/rechargeable batteries if the product will not be used for a longer period.
Risk of damage of the product
Only use the specified type of battery/rechargeable battery!
Insert batteries/rechargeable batteries according to polarity marks (+) and (-) on the battery / rechargeable battery and the product.
Clean the contacts on the battery / rechargeable battery and in the battery compartment before inserting!
Remove exhausted batteries / rechargeable batteries from the product immediately.
- Initial use
Note: Remove all packaging materials from the product.
- Inserting/replacing the batteries (see Fig. F)
- Turn the product over and place it on a soft underlay to avoid scratching the surface.
- Open the cover of battery compartment 6 at the back of the product.
- Remove the used batteries, if present.
Note: The LC display 1 will show then to replace the batteries. When standing on the
product if the batteries are low, the LC display 1 will display "Lo" (see Fig. C) and the product will automatically switch off. The low voltage message is also indicated via the loudspeaker 5
Note: When the LC display displays "Lo", replace the drained batteries with new batteries of the type specified under "Technical data".
- Insert new 3 × 1.5 ~V = AAA (LRO3) batteries in the battery compartment 6.
Note: Be sure to insert the batteries correctly. To do so, refer to the marking inside the battery compartment 6.
- Close the cover of battery compartment 6

Set the desired volume for the voice output via the volume control 4. In order to deactivate the voice output, turn the volume control 4 completely towards " - " until it snaps into place.
- Switching on your product/ measuring your weight
Tip: Weigh yourself at the same time of day (preferably in the morning) after visiting the toilet, with an empty stomach and without clothing to ensure that your results are compatible.
Note: After a change of location and following every battery change, the product must be re-calibrated. To do this, proceed as follows:
Step onto the product. The product will show you an incorrect measuring result. Then, step off the platform 2. The product will calibrate automatically. Wait until the product switches off automatically. The product is now calibrated.
Place the product down on a solid, flat horizontal surface.
The product must be calibrated before it is weighed for the first time or when it is relocated. Calibrated process refer to previous note.
Step on to the product.
Place even weight on each leg.
If at all possible stand on the same areas of the platform each time and do not move. Moving during the weighing process can lead to discrepancies in the results.
The product will start to measure immediately. After blinking 2 times, the weight display will display the result, as shown in, for example, Fig. B. The determined weight is also indicated via the loudspeaker 5.
Note: If the product shows "0-Ld" (see Fig. D), it signals that the product is overloaded. Observe the maximum capacity of max. 180kg (for model HG04777A-DE/ HG04777B-DE); max. 180 kg/396 lb (for model HG04777A/ HG04777B).
Step off the platform 2. The reading will reset to "0.0" automatically after about 15 seconds. Until then the weight measurement remains visible.
Then, if no further movement or weighing, the product will switch off automatically after about further 15 seconds.
Note: If you do not step off the platform 2 immediately and keep standing on the platform 2, the product will switch off automatically after about 20 seconds.
- Troubleshooting
This product has delicate electronic components. This means that if it is placed near an object that transmits radio signals, it could cause interference. If the LC display 1 indicates a problem, move such objects away from it.
Electrostatic charge can lead to the product failing. In cases of the product failing to work remove the batteries for a short while and then replace them.
- Cleaning
Clean the product using a slightly moist cloth. For more stubborn dirt you can also apply a weak soap solution to the cloth.
Never immerse the product in water or other liquids. Ignoring this advice may damage the product.
Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1-7: plastics / 20-22: paper and fibreboard/80-98: composite materials.

The product and packaging materials are recyclable, dispose of it separately for better waste treatment. The Triman logo is valid in France only.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.
Faulty or used batteries / rechargeable batteries must be recycled in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return the batteries / rechargeable batteries and/or the product to the available collection points.

Environmental damage through incorrect disposal of the batteries / rechargeable batteries!
Batteries / rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical symbols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries / rechargeable batteries at a local collection point.
Warranty
The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of product defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.
The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it - at our choice - free of charge to you.
The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is required as your proof of purchase. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.
The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear, thus possibly considered consumables (e.g. batteries) or for damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or glass parts.
