Proper use The product is intended for measuring the weight of people. The product has a weighing range of up to 180 kg. The product is suitable for indoor environment only. The product is intended only for use in a private domestic environment and not for commercial use. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use. Parts list

This prod- uct is not a toy. This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capa- bilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Clean- ing and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Max. 180 kg CAUTION! DANGER OF INJURY! Do not load the product beyond 180 kg. The safety glass could break and cause cut injuries. CAUTION! DANGER OF INJURY! Do not step onto the product with wet feet and do not use the product if the platform is moist. You might slip. Protect your product from impact, moisture, dust, chemicals and sudden changes in temperature and keep it away from sources of heat (ovens, heating radiators). Check the product for damage before bringing it into use. If the product is damaged do not use it. Remove the battery if the product breaks down or is defective. Otherwise the battery is more likely to leak. Always have any repairs carried out at the service centre or by an electrical equipment repair specialist. Safety instructions for batteries / rechargeable batteries DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries / rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If acci- dentally swallowed seek immedi- ate medical attention.

SION! Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or8 GB/IE/NI open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result. Never throw batteries / recharge- able batteries into fire or water. Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries / rechargeable batteries. Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators / direct sunlight. If batteries / rechargeable batter- ies have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous mem- branes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medi cal attention! WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or damaged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs. In the event of a leakage of bat- teries / rechargeable batteries, immediately remove them from the product to prevent damage. Only use the same type of bat- teries / rechargeable batteries. Do not mix used and new batter- ies / rechargeable batteries. Remove batteries / rechargeable batteries if the product will not be used for a longer period. Risk of damage of the product Only use the specified type of battery / rechargeable battery! Insert batteries / rechargeable batteries according to polarity marks (+) and (-) on the battery / rechargeable battery and the product. Clean the contacts on the battery / rechargeable battery and in the battery compartment before inserting! Remove exhausted batteries / rechargeable batteries from the product immediately. Initial use Note: Remove all packaging materials from the product. Inserting / replacing the batteries (see Fig. F)

. In order to deactivate the voice output, turn the volume control

completely towards “-” until it snaps into place. Switching on your product / measuring your weight Tip: Weigh yourself at the same time of day (preferably in the morning) after visiting the toilet, with an empty stomach and without clothing to ensure that your results are compatible. Note: After a change of location and following every battery change, the product must be re-cali- brated. To do this, proceed as follows: Step onto the product. The product will show you an incorrect measuring result. Then, step off the plat- form

. The product will calibrate automatically. Wait until the product switches off automatically. The product is now calibrated. Place the product down on a solid, flat horizon- tal surface. The product must be calibrated before it is weighed for the first time or when it is relocated. Calibrated process refer to previous note. Step on to the product. Place even weight on each leg. If at all possible stand on the same areas of the platform each time and do not move. Moving during the weighing process can lead to discrepancies in the results. The product will start to measure immediately. After blinking 2 times, the weight display will display the result, as shown in, for example, Fig. B. The determined weight is also indicated via the loudspeaker

Note: If the product shows “0-Ld” (see Fig. D), it signals that the product is overloaded. Observe the maximum capacity of max. 180 kg (for model HG04777A-DE/ HG04777B-DE); max. 180 kg / 396 lb (for model HG04777A/ HG04777B). Step off the platform

. The reading will reset to “0.0” automatically after about 15 seconds. Until then the weight measurement remains visible. Then, if no further movement or weighing, the product will switch off automatically after about further 15 seconds. Note: If you do not step off the platform

immediately and keep standing on the platform

, the product will switch off automatically after about 20 seconds. Troubleshooting This product has delicate electronic components. This means that if it is placed near an object that transmits radio signals, it could cause inter- ference. If the LC display

indicates a problem, move such objects away from it.11 GB/IE/NI Electrostatic charge can lead to the product failing. In cases of the product failing to work remove the batteries for a short while and then replace them. Cleaning Clean the product using a slightly moist cloth. For more stubborn dirt you can also apply a weak soap solution to the cloth. Never immerse the product in water or other liquids. Ignoring this advice may damage the product. Disposal The packaging is made entirely of recyclable mate- rials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.
