  • Use this appliance for its intended purpose.
  • Use this appliance indoors only. Do not use it in the bathroom or outside.
  • No liability is accepted for damages resulting from incorrect usage or improper handling of the appliance.
  • Do not leave this appliance unattended while it is in use. Extreme caution is advised when being used near children and persons who are restricted in their physical, sensory or mental abilities.

  • The appliance should not be used by the following persons, including children: those with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or those with a lack of experience and knowledge. This does not apply to the latter if they were instructed in the use of the appliance or if they use it under the supervision of a person responsible for their safety. Children should always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • Do not place this appliance on hotplates (gas, electric / coal stoves, etc.). Keep this appliance away from all hot surfaces.
  • Do not open the outer casing under any circumstance. No liability is accepted for damages caused by improper use.

  • Our GRUNDIG Household Appliances meet all the applicable safety standards; thus if the appliance or power cord is damaged, it must be repaired or replaced by the dealer, a service centre or a similarly qualified and authorized service person to avoid any danger. Faulty or unqualified repair work may cause danger and risk to the user.

  • Never use this appliance with damp or wet hands.
  • Only use the original accessories or those that are recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Danger of suffocation! Keep all packaging materials away from children.
  • Remove all packaging materials, labels and protective foil and dispose of them according to the applicable legal regulations.
    Clean all parts prior to usage.
  • This appliance is intended for domestic use only.

  • Make sure that your local power supply corresponds to the information on the rating plate. The only way to disconnect the appliance from the power supply is to pull the power plug out of the power outlet.

  • For additional protection, this appliance should be connected to a household residual current device with a rating of no more than 30mA . Consult your electrician for advice.
  • Dry off the appliance and all accessories prior to connecting it to a power supply and prior to attaching the accessories.
  • Make sure you do not accidentally trip on the power cable when the appliance is in use.
  • Position the appliance in such a way that the power plug is always accessible.
  • Never touch the power plug with damp or wet hands.
  • Unplug the appliance before each cleaning and when the device is not in use.

  • Avoid damages to the power cable by not squeezing, bending or rubbing it on sharp edges. Keep the power cable away from hot surfaces and open flames.

  • Do not pull on the power cable to disconnect the appliance from the power supply and do not wrap the power cable around the appliance; use the cable storage holder provided.
  • Do not use this appliance with an extension cord.
  • Do not submerge the appliance, the power cable or the power plug in water or in any other liquid.
  • Only clean this device with a slightly damp cloth.
  • Always keep hair, clothing and other objects away from the appliance while it is in use in order to prevent injury and damages.
  • Warning - Danger of Burns! Do not touch the hot soleplate. Do not lean over the iron while it is in use. Heat will rise from the device during usage! Only touch the iron by the handle.

  • Only use the iron with the steam iron station connected.
    If this appliance falls, if water leaks or other defects occur, it must be inspected and repaired by an authorised specialist.

  • Do not use this appliance until the defect has been repaired.
  • Do not iron over zippers, metal buttons or other metal parts, as this could damage the soleplate.
  • To ensure safe operation of the appliance, do not modify the safety features in any way.
  • When walking away or leaving the appliance unattended only for a short time, make sure that the iron is always placed on the storage base and switched it off.
    An unattended, hot iron can result in burn injuries!
  • Never point the hot soleplate towards people, animals or electrical devices whilst steam is being emitted.

  • The water drain in the bottom of the steam iron station must always be tightly sealed when the iron is in use.

  • After use, always let the iron cool down completely in a location out of reach of children and persons who are restricted in their physical, sensory or mental abilities. Wait until the appliance has completely cooled down before storing it away.
  • The iron must not be left unattended while it is connected to the mains supply.
  • The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before the water reservoir is filled with water.
  • The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
  • When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.
  • Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Exercise care when handling.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

APPAREL CARE

The wool cycle of this iron has been approved by The Woolmark Company for the ironing of pure

wool products provided that the products are ironed according to the instructions on the garment label and those issued by the manufacturer of this iron. R1702

The Woolmark symbol is a Certification mark in many countries.

Intended use

This appliance is intended only for household use and ironing; it is not suitable for professional use.

Initial use

1 Remove the package on the lime collecting cartridge A which is placed separately in the box.
2 Soak the lime collecting cartridge A in the water for 1 minutes in order to enhance its performance.

3 Then push the cartridge A in its slot.

4 Prior to initial use, fill the water reservoir E with water and evaporate the water twice in order to remove the manufacturing residues.

Note

A light odour may arise during the initial use. This condition will return to normal after several uses.

Ironing tips

The appliance gets heated in a short time; iron fabrics such as synthetic, silk etc. using low temperature settings.
- Iron fabrics that may luster (silk etc.) by turning them inside out or using the appliance in Smart-ECO mode.

Use very little pressure when ironing fabrics such as velvet and iron them towards one single direction.
Steam usage may cause stains on coloured silk fabrics. Do not use steam.
100% pure woolen clothes can be ironed by using steam.
- Ironing woolen clothes may cause luster. Iron by turning them inside out.

Warning

  • Do not allow the iron to contact with metal parts such as zippers and rivets. This may damage the soleplate of the iron.

Temperature setting

Set the appropriate temperature for the fabric to be ironed by using the control button K.

Note

Smart-ECO mode of your appliance is suitable for all types of fabrics that can be ironed. You can iron securely. You can do steam ironing by using the steam trigger in this mode.

Warning

"You can do steam ironing at all temperature levels except for " " Press the steam trigger L for steam ironing.
Take the ironing instructions specified on the label of the fabric into consideration for ironing.

Dry ironing

Your appliance will not raise steam as long as you do not press the steam trigger L.

In order to use dry ironing, do not press the steam trigger L.

Filling the water reservoir

Warning

When filling the water reservoir with water without removing the iron from the steam station B, ensure that the appliance is unplugged.

1 Press the on/off button K, switch off and unplug the appliance.

2 Remove the water reservoir E by pressing the water reservoir removal latch D placed under the water reservoir.

3 Open the water refill lid F and fill water up to the MAX level.

Note

  • Your appliance is suitable to be used with tap water. If your tap water is excessively hard, we recommend you to use a mixture of tap water and demineralized / distilled water. (Do not add water from the tumble dryer.)

  • Do not add perfume, water from the tumble dryer, vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids, chemically descaled water or other chemicals, as they may cause water spitting, brown staining or damage to your appliance.

4 Place the water reservoir in its place.

Steam ironing

1 Fill the water reservoir E with water.
2 Place the appliance on the steam station surface G

3 Plug in the appliance.

  • You will hear a beeping sound when the appliance starts to operate.
  • Control panel J flashes once and then goes off.

  • You will hear a click when the 4 Press the on/off button K.

OPERATION

Operation of the pump may make some noise during the water drawing process; this is normal.
The appliance starts in Smart-ECO mode in the initial use. This level offers safe temperature and steam amount for all the fabrics that can be ironed.
5 You can set temperature levels other than the Smart - ECO mode by using the control button K.

Warning

  • Your selection should be suited for the fabric to be ironed.
    6 When the symbol of the selected setting flashes consistently on the display, your appliance is ready to iron.

Warning

If the symbol on the display blinks, this means that the soleplate temperature setting is not at the desired level.

You can do steam ironing by using the steam trigger L at all temperature levels except for
7 When the appliance is ready for steam ironing, move the iron horizontally on the fabric to be ironed

and press the steam trigger L. Your iron will raise steam from its soleplate H as long as you hold the steam trigger pressed.

8 When the ironing process is over, press the on/off button K for a few seconds.

  • The lights on the control panel J will go off.

9 Unplug the appliance and leave it to cool.

Vertical steam

You can also use the steam in upright position. You can iron your curtains and hanged garments thanks to the vertical steam feature. Keep the appliance 15 - 30cm way from the garment and curtains..

Warning

  • Never direct the steam to people or pets.

Automatic Shutdown (Auto-Off)

If you do not move the appliance or press any of its buttons for 10 minutes, it will be shut down automatically.

If you move the appliance horizontally or press any of its buttons, it will start to operate.

Note

It may take 60 seconds for the soleplate to reach the previous temperature level.

CLEANING AND CARE

Cleaning

Warning

  • Do not soak the steam station in water or other liquids. Never put vinegar, descaling agent, laundry starch, perfume or other auxiliary products that help ironing into the appliance.
  • Do not use gasoline, solvent and abrasive cleaning agents or hard brush to clean the appliance.
  • Do not wash your appliance under running water or do not soak it in water or other liquids.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents to clean the soleplate H.
    1 Switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning.
    2 Wait for the appliance to cool completely.
    3 Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the exterior of the appliance. Then wait for it to dry completely.
    4 Wipe the sediments and residues on the soleplate H with a slightly damp cloth or with a soft, nonabrasive liquid cleaner if necessary.

Replacing the lime collecting cartridge

Warning

  • Do not use any descending agents! They may damage the appliance.
  • Do not purchase cartridge from places other than the dealers and service centers. If you do this, the cartridge will not fit into the cartridge slot and will not operate. This causes a breakdown in your appliance. Faults arising from using wrong cartridge are not covered under warranty.

CLEANING AND CARE

Note

The cartridge must be replaced after consuming about 30 liters of water.
2 Soak the new cartridge in water for 5 minutes in order to enhance its performance.
3 Before removing the old cartridge from its slot, make sure that the sections surrounding the cartridge is cold.
4 Slightly press and release to replace the cartridge.

5 Remove the new cartridge from its package, soak it in the water for 5 minutes and push it in its slot.

Lime removing feature (Self-Clean)

1 When the "line removing (self-clean) symbol flashes on the control panel, J this means that it is time for lime removing.
2 Fill the water reservoir E
3 Plug in the appliance.
4 Hold and press the control button K and steam trigger L together for 3 seconds.

Note

The "symbol will constantly blink on the control panel when the appliance switches to lime removing (self-clean) mode.

CLEANING AND CARE

5 Then press the control button K once

symbol will flash on the control panel J permanently.

6 Keep the appliance over the sink horizontally and shake it while pressing and holding the steam trigger L.
7 When the lime removing (self-clean) is over, the appliance automatically returns to the mode before the lime removing process.

Storage

If you do not intend to use the appliance for a long time, store it carefully.
Unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool completely before storing it.
Discharge the water in the water reservoir E.
- Wrap the cable around the cable winding slot with bracket and fix it in order to store the steam station.

Transport lock

1 Turn the transport lock in order to be able to move/transport your appliance easily and store it securely.
2 Turn the lock again to unlock the transport lock.

Store it in a cool and dry place.
- Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
